The experience was great, the flavors were good but pricing is a big exaggerated! We had a nice tasting of many things off the menu - potatos Barvas, croquets, fondu, shrimp, whole fish, soupy rice, pork shank and the steak - all dishes were prepped well. There's no full bar at the place, so charging $14-15 /drink filed with mostly ice is absurd. We had ordered a pitcher of a spritz for $48 which contained literally 2.5 drinks!! - so I wouldn't recommend getting a pitcher. It would have been cheaper to order them separately which would have cost $30... we were in a hurry and didn't get a chance to try dessert but this could be a place we would come back to. read more

Genuinely some of the worst tapas I've ever had. Extremely expensive with a relatively limited selection. Highlights: Patatas Bravas - super crispy and flavorful Low ABV cocktails - very sweet but very tasty Lowlights: Chicken paella balls - super dry and flavorless Everything else (price, service, super tiny portions) Unless you *have* to have some kind of Spanish food, I'd find somewhere else to spend $100 on dinner. read more

This place exceeded all our expectations. By far the best tapas I've ever had. Service was fantastic, drinks were fun and festive and the food was phenomenal. Do yourself a favor and get the Patatas bravas. I'm still dreaming about them! read more

Only ordered some apps and a beer so reserving judgement and want to be able to add another star later. Empanadas were solid and so were patatas bravas. It'd be nice to see a cocktail on the menu that wasn't $14. I just can't stomach that. So I ordered the $5 Estrella beer and was instead charged $8 for it. Asked for chimichurri for empanadas and was charged $.75 for that without knowing there was a cost. Somewhat confusing as the empanadas are for LITTLE red window and not Red Window. The concept could use some cleaning up and the costs need to come down and patrons not nickel and Dimed. I will come Back once more to try other stuff. Hope they can improve. read more

Service was really good, we got seated right away on a saturday afternoon. They have really nice tapas and signature cocktails. The only thing is that they are serving brunch menu untill 2:30 which didnt have as much options as the regular menu. read more

Lively restaurant in north beach. Don't let the menu intimidate you, everything was amazing. Not your ordinary breakfast menu but Yummm

Cute little place in little Italy. The food and drinks were delicious. We tried the baked egg, mushroom pintxos and the spritzs. The weather, the music and the vibe made for a chill saturday afternoon read more

The food was some of the worst I've ever had in the city. The octopus was rubbery, the flatbread was sad and hardly resembled a flatbread, and we never even received the patatas bravas we ordered (and paid for) despite asking about them twice. The lamb pasta was clearly boxed pasta with undercooked lamb. Truly disappointing experience. read more

Let me set the scene. Friday night around 9pm. A very nice hostess seats us at our table and leaves us with a server who looks like he doesn't know where he is. His weird little mannerisms made it the most awkward ordering experience I've had in a while. We ordered 2 cocktails, the lamb pasta and the meatball pasta. The lamb pasta was pretty good, though it could have had more pieces of meat. The meatball pasta was the saltiest pasta I've ever eaten. The meatball was decent though. Here's the plot twist: we NEVER received our drinks!!!! (2) Spanish 75's don't take over 40 mins to make, sorry bucko. When we received the food, we asked our server about the status of our drinks. He assured us he would go check what was holding them up. When we saw him go inside he just flirted with a customer instead. So we ate our salty food with no drinks... at a TAPAS place. Good grief! Overall a negative experience and I will not be coming back, SORRY! read more

Food was great; patatas are a must have. Vibe was great too!! Loved it and will come back. read more

Tapas is probably my favorite form of dining. You get to try lots of different things, they're cute, and generally tapas places I've found tend to have food drinks to go with the food. Red Window lived up to all those expectations! I had a unique cocktail that was carrot flavoured. Very refreshing and tasty. The bites were all very tasty. Do not miss the patatas bravas, the octopus or the Maitake mushroom bite. All other octopus dishes that I've had at other tapas restaurants are warm but this was served cold and sliced thin. Delicioso! Been here a few times and out of all the dishes I've tried, the poached fish in olive oil is the only one I'd suggest avoiding. read more

Great service, amazing opportunity for lp cocktails something you don't see everyday but can always still enjoy.

Loved the vibe here. The menu is loaded with tapas options. The Cobb and Beet salad are to die for. I would recommend the roasted carrots and patatas bravas...so freaking good. The drinks are refreshing and fun. Check this place out would recommend making a reservation this place gets packed especially on the weekends. read more

This is truly about the ambiance and overall atmosphere. It's a great outdoor space with the North Beach sunshine complementing tapas and cocktails. Low ABV cocktail menu with refreshing sangrias (the blanco was my favorite) etc. We had patatas bravas, gambas, queso fundido and octopus. Great place to stop and get a snack. read more

Average food. Service was good. Good location and outside seating was very nice. Felt like a tourist attraction.

Good ambience to the place and they serve awesome cocktails. The food however is not upto the mark. The pinxtos could be a hit or a miss, but the tapas we ordered were not good. Also, given the portion size and quality of food, this place is overpriced. We ordered: Crispy meatballs 4/5 Bacaloa 3/5 Morcilla 2/5 Baby beet 3/5 Artichoke 5/5 Mushroom 3/5 Tortilla Espanola 1/5 Cauliflower Bocadilo 2/5 Cheesecake 4/5 read more

Tapas were very good- I'd recommend trying the chicken, mushroom, and veal. Salmon wasn't that great. Arroz negro was interesting, although listed as large tapas, plate wasn't that big. Patatas bravas looked good but didn't taste good- over fried. read more

Got drinks outside. It was pleasant and the waiter was nice. We got a different waiter for actually closing the tab. They conveniently did not tell us about a large party auto gratuity when tipping so we were somewhat tricked into tipping on top of that. They also charge a 7% sf mandate fee? The largest I've ever seen. Anyways it was $33 after fees per person and each person got 1 drink. Will make sure to avoid this place in the future. read more

5 of us went for dinner yesterday. Would say it was a slightly mixed experience in terms of food - the tortilla espanola, which is a staple one would expect any Spanish place to master, disappointed quite a bit (I've had much better elsewhere in the city), whereas the crispy meatballs and the brothy rice were very good. The service was warm. We would not go back in a rush. read more

Service was amazing! The staff was always checking in on you. The waitress's shift was almost over so she let me know that someone else would take over. The drinks were a little disappointing...not bad but not the best. Instagram worthy though. I really enjoyed the food, everything I ordered was a hit. Definitely will be coming back for a quick causal bite. read more

With just one night in SF, we decided on tapas and the service and food here was fantastic. We had the jamón croquetas, Bavette steak, carrots, tomato & manchego, and patatas bravas. Food is decent. No contactless payments (Apple Pay), which is a dealbreaker for me given how many times my credit card has been compromised.

Byron is the best - such fun vibes here. For sure come for a drink and some food. Great service and good drinks

I had high hopes and perhaps it is unfair for me to compare this to the real thing in Spain, but given the prices we paid and the fact that we are in San Francisco (as a foodie city) I'll be a little tougher on this place than I may otherwise be. My friends and I came without a reservation on a weekday evening. We were able to get seated with no wait, with the caveat that our time was limited because there was a reservation for the table in 90 minutes. We sat outside-- it was nice, albeit noisy. Wavering between the Roja and Blanco sangria, we compromised for the pitcher of Sangria Rosa, which was good. It was a little difficult to gauge how much to order, and the wait staff provided some helpful guidance to prevent us from over-ordering. From the pintxos, we each had a crispy meatball (excellent) and a marinated artichoke (pretty good). From the tapas, we shared: patatas bravas (an interesting, modern take on it which involved layered slices of potato cut into cubes rather than cubed potatoes-- it was pretty good though a little overly fried), tortilla espanola (I was not impressed), gambas (okay... maybe a little overcooked). The meal started out strong with the meatball croqueta but certainly ended with a whimper (everything else). For me, patatas bravas, tortilla espanola, and gambas al ajillo are the pinnacles of pintxos/tapas and you basically have to do those perfectly. You can screw up anything else, but not those because everywhere serves those. Most disappointing was the tortilla espanola. Mind you, the bar is set high for me for tortilla espanola because of my friend who introduced me to the dish because she learned how to make it in Spain and she told me how easy it is to screw up. But that's home cooking vs. restaurant cooking. Don't f*ck up the tortilla espanola!!! This one was overly browned, and lacked the airy lightness that I expect in a good tortilla espanola. Also, I learned how to make it from a Bon Appetit YouTube video so if my home version is better than your restaurant version, then what are we even doing here?!?! There was also some weirdness with the male host being so nice and overly familiar with my male friend, but ignoring the existence of the other two of us (two females). It felt oddly misogynistic and out of place for San Francisco. This was brought to our attention by my male friend pointing out how weird it was, and his discomfort with it as it happened with zero acknowledgment or eye contact to me and his wife. It felt like it was done under the guise of performative hospitality, but just weird when it's just zero'd in on the man of the group while the rest of us are apparently invisible. It didn't feel like a flirtatious thing-- it was just... weird. This place is pretty new, and they have lots of room for improvement. I'm not sure that I'm all too eager to pay this much for this so-so quality of food that I'm realizing I'm actually very picky about (Spanish food). Split tab was about $70 per person for the pitcher of sangria and the various pintxos/tapas. I mean, I'll eat about 20 of those meatball croquetas but that's about it. I'm just not persuaded that anything else on the menu would be a standout because I don't think what I consider to be the staples were good enough to bode well for everything else. read more

Excellent drinks, delicious foods and great service. Especially recommend the smoke salmon tapa and the beef meatball tapa although all were amazing read more

Very bland tapas. Portions were small and tasteless. I really enjoy tapas so this was a very disappointing meal

A little expensive but really cute atmosphere and love the inside decor definitely a fun place for quick drinks!!

Great place for Tapas, cool atmosphere and nice staff. Good place for a date, will definitely go again.

It's nice to have a new restaurant in this spot on Columbus, but the food and drinks just aren't doing it for us. The patatas bravas are good, but most other things on the menu are lacking flavor, texture, etc. Hopefully over time they can get the hang of things, but not rushing to go back anytime soon. read more
