Unfortunately I didn't picture everything. Honestly I hate to give a bad review but I'm here for the people. People who spend their hard earned money. Whether staying for a night, or longer they deserve atleast a clean room to rest their head. One of my employers from the big e happen to book here and it was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences l've had. The first room they gave me was dirty.. smelled like cigarettes when I walked in. Hair in places it shouldn't be. I took the sheets off the bed to ensure that that would be changed and there was a urine stained mattress cover. I ended up going to the front desk basically requesting full service because if it wasn't for work I would've drove all the way home, immediately. The guy at the front desk said "oh..so you're requesting full service?" And "I'll see if the housekeeper has time." The housekeeper came I got out of the room along with all of my stuff. I waited in my car for about 35 minutes until I saw her cart leave. I went upstairs to check the room to see what she did all she did was change the sheets and give new towels which okay thank you for that but didn't wipe anything down there was still hair leftover so I went back to the front desk. They were dealing with another issue before I walked in. I explained the situation and they were nice about it the manager and another lady ended up switching/upgrading my room. One of the ladies brought my to the room and at first yes it already seemed cleaner but I wasn't looking at everything I had training/work. The second room, still hair and even in the sheets in the bathroom black curly hair, again. I also saw a needle on the floor near my room. I didn't take a picture but I wish I did. Honestly just didn't feel comfortable. Also, another woman working for the same company was staying at the same place I was and even longer than I. Asked for her sheets to be changed there was a specific brown stain on the sheets. When she came back to her room the housekeeper pretended to have changed the sheets because the stain was still there. The rooms were just disgusting. I wish I could give 0 stars. read more

Our 3-night stay at this hotel was very disappointing, especially at the rate they charged us. When we first arrived, we were informed we had to pay an additional $50 deposit against room damage. This was not stated when we first booked the room. On the first night, I asked the front desk clerk for an extra pillow; he informed me that the hotel had no extra pillows? Then, the next afternoon, when we arrived back at our room, we discovered that the room had not been cleaned, beds not made, bathroom not cleaned, towels not replaced. When I asked the front desk staff about this, they informed us that their policy is to clean the rooms only EVERY FOUR DAYS! This also was not made clear when we first booked the room. Given the price we paid for this room, this level of service is unacceptable. I will not be booking a Red Roof hotel room again. read more

If there's nowhere else to stay, this place is a last resort choice -- It's an extremely basic motel. The only positive, our room was clean. There's no coffee maker in any room and no breakfast available. You pay more to have a fridge and microwave in your room, but still have no coffee/tea maker. Caffeinated coffee was available in the lobby with only ultra sweet fake creamer being the choice. There was also no tea or stir sticks and the area was very unkept. Looks can be deceiving. We stayed here because the reviews were mostly positive, and the pictures seemed nice. Boy were we wrong. The room looks clean overall but after sitting in there for an hour you start to notice the musty/moldy smell. Not to mention the carpet was damp and never dried and the smell of wet dog was so strong I could barely sleep. Random pill on the floor under the AC. My boyfriend was going to put his clothes in the dresser until we opened the drawers and they were full of water damage and MOLD. No mini fridge, microwave, or coffee maker which is understandable for the price and wasn't an issue for us personally but I know some people look for that. Two stars because at least we didn't get murdered or robbed here. Would not stay here again. read more

I had a very nice stay at the Red Roof Inn in West Springfield. The staff were as nice as could be. They helped me in every way possible and were friendly and nice to talk with. They got me into a good room at the last minute with my pet (a cat). The room was clean and everything I would expect at this price point. I had to retrieve a couple of cat toys from under the bed and behind furniture, so I saw a little dust, but overall, the room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable, and I felt safe. I would definitely go back to this hotel. I highly recommend it! read more

Booked a night for family weekend at a local college. I did this through a third party booking service. Had to cancel due to an illness. Not only did they not offer a refund or credit, they penalized me for canceling! The injustice of this goes beyond anything I've ever experienced. The hotel manager was inflexible and refused to budge. This is inhumane. Be wary of both Red Roof and Hotels.com. They have no problem screwing you out of your money. And I expect they will double their money since the room will almost certainly be re-booked since it's a VERY busy weekend in the area. There are several colleges and it's family weekend! Wish I had the resources and energy to fight this further but I'll post this instead. read more

Motel review Well, I wasn't expecting a whole lot because it's a cheap motel even at $100/night, but boy were my expectations too high. For context, we were staying here because our only bathroom was undergoing renovations, so we were able to pop home when needed. Things I brought from home to make the room livable: -air freshener spray (room had a very unpleasant odor) -pillows (even the "firm" ones were laughable) -hand soap (the little bar made our hands smell bad) -drinking water (the tap water was disgusting) -plastic cups (the wrappers on the cups provided were all torn up) Things I wish i brought: -sheets and blankets (theirs were stained and several had burn holes, plus one of the the bottom sheets wouldn't stay on the mattress). -towels (scratchy AF) -a desk chair (provided was broken and very visibly worn out as well as uncomfortable) -toilet paper (theirs is like sandpaper) There was chipped paint, stains in lots of places, and just a general feel of griminess. I saw employees smoking underneath a no-smoking sign on my way out one morning. The top step of the back stairs nearly took me out since it's shorter than the others because the edge of the top is rotting. When we were packing up we found a disgusting *something* under the bed, maybe a child's toy? But obv they don't clean well. I could go on. The only pros I can see are that it was close to the highway and the beds were marginally comfortable. Some of these complaints might seem like personal preferences, but all in all I will never ever recommend this place to anyone unless they're desperate. read more

The only thing good about this place is the staff they were so nice super friendly. But the cleanliness in the rooms was horrible the first Initial look you think is fine but when we removed the first sheet to go to bed the was hair and other stuff that I don't even want to know. We were moved to a second that the ac broke in the middle of the night the shower had hair still in it from the previous person in it toilet was dirty. All we wanted was a clean room to sleep in after a graduation ceremony sense we are 2 hours away from home. Very disappointed if the cleaning was better this place would not be bad at all. read more

Pictures literally are catfish. Theres only enough hardwood in room the take a picture of and post as premium. The rest is carpeted in patches of old hotel squares. Bees and spiders in room. Smelled like smoke upon entering. Fridge barely worked. Premium bedding upgrade was a joke. Housecleaning was friendly. Stuck between hooters and 5 guys, so you got some food in walking distance. Vending machines wont take bills or change, sorry not using a credit card. Great shower massager and decent pricing. Save 200 bucks for mediocre stay or upgrade to hilton is the choices. read more

After a couple of decades of staying at Red Roof Inns during countless road travels, I wrongly assumed this one would be good. The room stank something fierce of stale smoke, and I had pot smokers next door. After telling the night manager, I borrowed a can of air-freshener- which did not work. The room was also dirty, the A/C unit sounded like a jet engine, and the furniture was dented up. A terrible night's experience. On top of that, it's no bargain. Red Roof prices are now close to Hampton Inns' prices. Steer clear of this place. We can all do MUCH better. read more

First of all, it's not The Ritz or The Bellagio. It is a simple motel. It is clean. The staff actually cares. People seem to find a need to complain, but their rooms are clean and the staff cares about your stay. No, there aren't fancy amenities. But, they are pet friendly. A lot of people stay here because of the pet policy. I happened to have a broken foot. I slipped and fell. The front desk was on top of the situation and called me periodically for wellness checks. Again, no, you are not getting a Bellagio experience, but, come on, a Red Roof Inn is a place where you stay for practical reasons. There is not some prostitution ring or rampant drugs. It is a good fit for people who just need to escape their apartment due to fumigation or whatever. No, you aren't getting a luxury vacation. But, you are close to basically everything you need. I have stayed in almost every motel in the area for various reasons. The staff here is probably the nicest. And, the people who stay long term are not the typical junkies that you find at a Motel 6. So, to the complainers out there, if you wanted a luxury experience, hit up MGM Springfield. You knew that the Red Roof Inn was a Red Roof Inn! Rate it on the value, not on your expectations of the Ritz! I mean, I would have liked a refrigerator and a microwave, but, the staff was outstanding. read more

Don't spend your money here, find another hotel! I stayed here for a long weekend to visit the Big E, and I would've rather spent my money elsewhere. 1. The original room we were given hadn't been cleaned; beds were unmade, with dirty towels on the floor. When we went back to the front desk, we barely received an apology. 2. The 2nd room we received had obviously been smoked in, and tried to cover up. Sorry, but no matter how strong the spray is, you're going to smell smoke. 3. The walls are paper thin, we could here dogs barking from two rooms down. 4. WiFi is spotty as ever, depending on which area of the room you were in, or what side of the bed you were laying on you could maybe get two bars. 5. We called the front desk because we had used up the one roll of toilet paper we had been given, now mind you it was later in the night and we were tired from a very long day, and were told that we would have to come to the front desk because there was only one person on staff. Not only is that not safe for only one member to be on staff, that also isn't smart because what if we had been handicap/had a disability? 6. There is no real entrance to the hotel. You have to drive into either the Hooters parking lot, or the Five Guys parking lot, then go behind it, super confusing. Overall, this was a horrible stay. I'm pretty lenient when it comes to hotels, but this was the worst hotel I've been in. read more

Clean. Plenty of HOT water in the shower. Within easy walking distance of several chain restaurants/bars (some Mexican joint, Chili's, a local business, Hooters, etc.) so you can scarf down a few beers or margaritas and not have to worry about driving. Within a short drive of every kind of store imaginable plus a multi-screen cinema, drugstore and even a monastery! My room had a teeny-tiny bathroom that was fine for just me but I wouldn't have wanted share it. Within a stones throw of the interstate but still quiet enough for a restful sleep. Front desk guy was friendly. I'm working in this area for the forseeable future and will be crashing here a lot. For the price, it's a good deal. read more

With tax, my room came to $67. Can any place beat that (I know they can't in Hartford) Nice clean room, no there is no spa jacuzzi or pool, but if you're just staying the night the location is perfect, right offa I-91 and really close to the Mass Pike. And Hooters is right next door. read more

I travel frequently, and the Red Roof Inn isn't typically my go-to when it comes to choosing accommodations. But after being faced with a dearth of reasonably priced, conveniently located traditional hotels in the area surrounding Springfield, I've now stayed several times at the RRI in West Springfield and been pleasantly surprised. Highlights: - Premium rooms. We always book a premium room - at these prices, why wouldn't you? I find it stacks up quite well against traditional hotels, which would be priced at least $50/night higher in this area. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms clean, and I appreciate the minifridge/microwave and snack box provided as well. As an additional plus, the internet has been reliable and faster than that at many more premium hotels I've visited. We love to bring our Roku and plug it right into the TV (with the conveniently provided connection options.) Works great to watch the shows/movies we like while on the road. - Pet friendly. Since we travel with our dog pet friendly hotels are very important! The RRI charges no extra pet fees, which is always great. One caveat: unlike some pet friendly hotels they do allow cats, which means if you deal with allergies you might want to stock up on Claritin before you arrive. - Location, location, location. The RRI is only a few minutes off 90, which makes it quick to travel in the Western Mass area - you're only about 20 minutes from downtown Northampton. There's a lot in the immediate area, too - the hotel is located literally between a Hooters and a Five Guys, with On the Border in the next parking lot over. Donut Dip is right across rt 5 and great for breakfast in the morning (since there's no breakfast service at the motel.) On the other side of 91, there are a lot of great options for restaurants and grocery shopping including Panera, D'Angelos, Longhorn, Table and Vine, Stop and Shop, Cal's - the list goes on. There's a movie theater nearby as well, if you've got some time to kill. All in all I have very few complaints. For the price, you can't really beat it in an area that is underserved by hotels that are uniformly overpriced. I do wish they were a little more flexible on things like late checkout, however - when I asked they were only willing to extend our time to 12 pm. Typically, especially on Sundays, hotels with more of a focus on customer service are willing to extend to at least 1 or 2 PM (since Sundays aren't a heavily booked night, barring special circumstances.) Still, this won't keep me from returning. read more

We've stayed this Red Roof Inn several times for business in the area and have had mixed experiences. Generally the rooms are marginally clean and at an OK price. Working and sleeping in a smoked-up room (booking a "non-smoking" room only means a smoker is in the room puffing away at the moment) can be a problem for people that are sensitive to the smell. So, after a couple of days your clothing and other items marinate in the stank. If this doesn't bother you, light 'em up and join the party! read more

Desk clerk put us in a room already given to other people and left us standing out in the cold while he tried to figure out another room that was available. Couldn't use TV because batteries to remote were dead in that room, room dirty, lots of people standing outside rooms smoking cigarettes and pot until early am hours. Stayed here for one evening as myself and my fiancé were in town for a concert. Requested an early check in and we were accommodated which was great. We stayed on the ground level. The room was clean, the heat worked well as it was a cold evening. They even had HBO randomly which I enjoyed. The room is not huge, on the smaller side, but more than adequate for a short stay. Location is right off the highway. There is a 5 Guys Burgers and a Hooters literally both right next to the hotel so you can grab lunch/dinner and a drink without driving anywhere. Also Donut Dip right across the street has fantastic donuts at reasonable prices. Good value for the price. Would gladly stay here again. read more

I am the first to admit that I am high maintenance when it comes to hotel accommodations. I was looking for something a little more "name brand" when booking a hotel for the past weekend, but the area was obviously jumping because not much was left at a reasonable rate. My husband had stayed here before and said it was good, so I decided to trust him. I was very pleasantly surprised. It was me, him, and our two young kids. The room was a king sized bed with a mini-fridge and microwave. Due to a sizable desk area (which our older son enjoyed sitting at) it was a bit of a squeeze to get the queen sized air mattress into area that allowed us to easily access the bathroom, but that was our issue, and we made it work. The room was clean, sizable (sans the air mattress issue), and overall comfortable. The air conditioning worked great, which is important during a July heatwave, the staff at the front desk was really nice and accommodating (no issues getting extra towels and blankets), and for being sold out, we didn't any noise from any of the other rooms or the Hooters next door, which our room faced out on to. The hotel does offer room service for lunch and dinner (not sure where it comes from) or there are plenty of places nearby to go. Both Hooters and Five Guys Burgers are within a few yards of hotel, and across the street is Donut Dip, which bakes their pastries on the premises and offers donuts, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and coffee. Go see my review on them. My only complaint is that the pillows were like rocks. When I mentioned this at check out the woman at the front desk told me they heard that a lot and had just gotten approval for new pillows, so expect to see those coming soon. In the meantime, if you are driving into town and can bring your own pillow, I would suggest it. If you are looking for reasonable rates in a convenient location, this is a solid choice. Every now and then, I'll take a room here at this Red Roof when I'm doing dog shows at the Big E. The site is very convenient to the Big E, parking is very easy for a cargo van, and the remodeled rooms are in very good shape. The rooms are comfortable for this class of hotel, exceeding price peers. This location is nicely nestled with a Five Guys, Hooters, and On The Border located on premises. It's a bit of an odd left turn into the parking area, but the stop light makes it reasonably accessible. The reason this is not a 5 star review is that the facility insists on slipping a fee in for the in-room safes. Given that Red Roof stopped charging silly fees for things like WiFi and pets years ago, it's beyond irritating to have to make the extra effort to tell them to remove the safe charge upon check out. Either get rid of the safes, discontinue to the charge, or make it an add-on charge IF the safe is used. read more

A pleasant surprise even if many people staying here seemed a bit shady. When I pulled up and went to check in I was first concerned when I saw a security guard in the lobby area. The front desk clerk was not overly outgoing or friendly but was efficient. The security guard was very nice, pleasant and talkative. Again, some of the people I saw walking about the room areas seemed shady but when we got to the room I was pleasantly surprised. The room was awesome- extremely modern and well appointed, clean and was nicer than Most 5 star hotel rooms I have stayed in. The beds need a few more pillows but other than that the room was phenomenal! The room had nice size flat screen TV, small fridge and microwave. There was plenty hot water in the shower and decent water pressure. We stayed one night due to convenience to Elms College where my daughters were playing in a volleyball tournament. I was not overwhelmed with this particular hotel. For someone who stays at dozens of hotels a year, This fell somewhere in the middle. The room was ok I guess, mostly wood floors if that's your thing. The decor itself was a little better than just "meh". I however found the hotel corridors to be a bit dark and that was a small problem. My key, true to form, had to be reset more than once. That's also a problem when your room is on the second floor on the complete opposite side of the motel and it's the coldest day in decades. Most of the staff were polite, but I had the vague feeling that I was bothering them half the time. Not always though, and they were nice enough to give me jumper cables when I needed them. All in all, it wasn't a terrible place to stay, and having the restaurants so close are a huge plus when you're by yourself! read more

I needed a room to stay overnight at a reasonable price. From the reviews on Expedia, I expected it to be more of a "motel" experience than a hotel. It's right off the highway behind a Hooters and a Five Guys. When I pulled up I was a little nervous about what the rooms would be like, but, I was pleasantly surprised! The "lobby" was nice and modern. They have complimentary coffee and tea, which is nice. Check in was a breeze and I was able to get into my room early. You can park right outside your room door so it's easy for luggage and stuff. Although my room was small, it was CLEAN and updated/modern. It had decent tv and good tv stations. They even give you little packs of tissues in the room that you can take with you and a complimentary bottle of water! Is it a 5-star hotel? No...BUT...it was definitely good for the price---better than I had expected. I would stay here again! read more
