You can tell this is an older hotel by the wear on the furniture and the style of the doors and elevators. Unless you're already familiar with the area, navigating to the hotel and around the parking lot takes a little getting used to. The room and bed were comfortable, though light does come in above and below the door, and around the cloth shade. There was evidently also a dog show of some sort in the area this weekend, with several dogs and their humans staying at the hotel, and I could hear barking from in my room from some other rooms, and also outside (from up on the 4th floor). But all of this is compensated by a good team of employees who keep the hotel very clean and organized. The star of this particular hotel is the breakfast, one of the nicer breakfasts I've had at a Hampton Inn in some time. It included 2 different types of waffle batter, and two different sized waffle griddles (1 large or 4 small). Hot food included pre-made cheese omelets, chicken sausage patties (not greasy!!), biscuits and gravy, and oatmeal. Several types of cereals and muffins were available, and fruit bowls were set up all over the food area and on some of the side tables, including apples, bananas, and mandarin oranges. The coffee station included a large assortment of teas as well. This was not my initial hotel of choice for the weekend, I was actually looking at another Hampton Inn in the area, one at which I'd previously stayed. But it was sold out when I tried to book a room, and later, when rooms were once again available, they were significantly more expensive than rooms here. So this Hampton gets the thumbs up for the price and the breakfast. read more

We stayed here on a Friday night into Saturday morning. We took advantage of the online check in, choosing our own room, and we used our phones as room keys, so we did not actually interact with any of the desk employees. Our room had a king sized bed and a sleeper sofa. We only used the bed and it was comfortable with enough pillows. Our room was clean and quiet, and the AC worked great. The complimentary breakfast was a standout here. the two waffle makers with toppings such as caramel, strawberry syrup, chocolate syrup, maple syrup, chocolate chips and whipped cream were awesome! In addition, there were omelets, sausage, oatmeal, cold cereals, a variety of breads and muffins, and fresh fruit. Coffee, tea, juices, and milk were also included. I would definitely stay here again on our next visit to the Springfield area. read more

Stayed here for family weekend at my daughter's college as it's all that was available . Room is old and stale smelling . Paint is peeling , vents are dirty, bathroom pain peeling and it's just not maintained . Tried to get water bottle in the little store off of the lobby and they were out . Went to get ice on our floor and ice machine not working . Door itself had holes and dents that were painted over . I paid $300 a night for something that was worth $50 .. if that . I had a situation where I needed to leave my house or the husband would have kept hitting me and abusing me verbally. This was the cheapest place I found that had (handicapp showers stalls).Or so I thought. Issue #1 I am handicapped, have MS a knee injury and mobility problems. When I saw their web site it said that they had convertible showers with a seat. When I arrived there wasn't anything available. I had all my luggage with me out of the car at 12 AM tired and in pain I was already there, needed a hot shower and a bed so, whatever, I took the room. I JUST CLEANED THE TUB WITH LYSOL( I always carry on my purse) MYSELF because it was dirty and I needed to sit on the tub. Good things about the place are that, It is a very quiet place, the room had a full fridge and kitchen, microwave, dishwasher, very comfortable mattress. It's like a little studio. t Some things are up to date like the kitchen and some are not, like the bathroom.On day 4th the shower handle fell off, but I made it work because I didn't want the hassle of packing all my stuff all over again and being moved to another room or have a handy man in my room fixing things. I wanted peace and quiet and nobody invading my space specially At this difficult moment that I was brainstorming about where to go, what to do. On day 5th I was sitting on the toilet and a beetle walked out of the tub. I grabbed it to make sure it wasn't a bed bug. I picked it with a towel as well as the tub handle and brought it to the front. I told the lady in the front desk that I didn't want to make a big deal but I needed a late check out, heck even a whole another day free of charge would have been proper for all the different scenarios and inconvenience but all she gave me was some new towels. I asked her very quietly for the manager of this site and I Will talk to her first thing in the morning. But my checking out day is as soon as I speak to her. I'm moving to another hotel until I can solve my situation. But a bit of empathy would have been nice from the staff. If you're going to stay here just check your beds, bathrooms and don't expect to be staying at the HILTON eventho they are owned by them or so Google said. read more

I was unfortunately greatly disappointed in this hotel. Hotel was outdated, and room was not clean. I have allergies to dust and dogs, and immediately got severe allergies when entering the room. We had 3 guests stay in our room - and all guests had breathing issues the next morning. The room needed maintenance and was not adequately cleaned - paint was peeling off the doors and walls, and the vents were caked with dust. Rooms and areas that were designated "non-smoking" smelled strongly of smoke. In terms of COVID safety protocols - guests were required to wear masks, but a majority of the hotel staff were not wearing masks themselves. I was greatly disappointed in the quality of this Hilton hotel, especially given the price. Unfortunately, most other hotels were booked the weekend of my stay. If you have the chance, I would advise evaluating other hotels options - you can get much more, for much less, in a majority of other hotels. read more

The location was perfect for everything we needed to do while visiting family in Massachusetts. Very close to the family and many great places to eat. The staff was friendly and professional, everyone gave us a warm welcome. The breakfast provided was the standard Hampton Inn grub that you get at all of its locations. We travel now with a senior that needs special accommodations and the room provided was somewhat challenging to negotiate with a walker. The bathroom was nice and large and could accommodate a walker. There is a need for a little more space for access to the table. The decor was nice but the beds were too soft for my back. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever been in. While the exterior of the hotel looks modern and inviting, the interior and room left a lot to be desired as everything appeared rundown and long overdue for maintenance. Our room was VERY COLD ()...almost like stepping into a refrigerator which leads me to believe that the sensor used detect occupancy so HVAC unit does not run when room is empty was not functioning so I turned the unit off. From the entry door we noticed something behind the mini fridge which turned out to be dust covered cans and snacks on the floor. The couch in our room was beat up and stained. The bathroom was usable but that's about all. Shower head kept falling, shower pressure was terrible and took almost 15 minutes for the water to get hot. On top of all of this we were awoken by fire alarm at 4:15am but not sure if it were due to fire or false alarm. Why 1 star?....Plenty of parking available! read more

My mom brought us here for Labor Day weekend... she doesn't know how to leave reviews so I am. We get to the room and I immediately noticed a moldy smell but I told myself to just forget it because we're only here for one night. We go out to the pool and my mom said it was dirty, I didn't go in myself. We get back to the room and after I shower I'm laying down and see water damage on the ceiling. Which would explain why my ears hurt and throat itch- I'm allergic to mold. I feel horribly that my mother spent her disability income for us to spend the night in a room with water damage. It isn't right. There is no ventilation at all, zero, in the bathroom: so after the showers, the room was even more moist. We tried to put the heat on to maybe dry it out, and there was literal smoke in the room and the smoke detector went off. I gave 3 stars because the bed is very comfortable. Update: the front desk was very willing to help us move our room, and we changed to one on the 4th floor which seems better so far. I will update with any changes. Post Check out update: the breakfast was very good... But overall I think the hotel has a mold problem and that is sad because it could be very beautiful. These days companies don't seem to be properly remediating mold issues. However to reiterate, they were quick to move our room for us and they were sorry to hear about the state of the room. Sorry to say that this is the worse Hampton Inn I have ever been to. I frequently use Hampton Inn once a year for month long trips. Unfortunately every year I lose my Gold status just before traveling again. This HI is located right off a major road with loud traffic all night long. My first Complaint is they took a copy of my drivers license at check in. When I complained about this, the desk person copped an attitude. Just said it was company policy. They said they shred the copies but in this day and age of identity thief being rampant I told her I did not trust their process. I ask a few patrons about their check in and they DID NOT have a copy made of their licenses. So... upon check out I asked for the copy back. This (different) desk person explained that they don't ask for licenses for Gold and Platinum members. Anyway, the room was small, only one luggage rack (there were two of us), only one face cloth and bath towel. I had to use the air conditioning wall unit to place my luggage on. Bathroom was small, old tub shower with dirt in the air vent. The buffet was a joke. They were very limited with usual egg and sausage, waffles cereal etc. The coffee ran out and was not refilled until I asked hours later. View from room was the highway and beggars on the street. The positive note is that there is plenty of shopping and restaurants in the area. Anyway, we left days earlier than planned and went to another HI in Hadley-Amherst. read more

I cannot recommend this hotel. When the front desk is presented with a guest concern, they do not follow up to resolve. It's on you to follow up with them. For my first room, the sink was clogged, the interior of the mini fridge was missing pieces (which limited it's capacity to hold drinks), the body wash in the shower was empty, there was no hair dryer and the room phone did not work. A hair dryer was promptly found for me. However, I was told that several had broken, and they were in short supply. Maybe solve that known issue if your a customer-facing business! After several follow ups, Drain-O was provided for the sink, which did not resolve the issue. It took until another follow up at the end of the day to learned that maintenance decided not to come to work that day so no plunger could be found to clear the sink. After receiving a requested room change, I discovered that my new room did not have a functioning HVAC - wonderful! The front desk was non-responsive to resolve this issue with either maintenance or another room change. ("We're looking into it. We're working on it. We'll get back to you." Blah-blah-blah) These are all simple things that should be quality confirmed when a room is turned. If you can't get these details right, you are in the wrong business! read more

The blanket was pretty, but scratchy. Bed was comfortable. The pool was clean & refreshing. We stayed on a weekend when there was a local dog show. There were tons of dogs staying at the hotel. I didn't mind that at all, but I'd be worried if I or a family member was allergic to dogs. I feel like that should've been disclosed when we booked. I booked a room at the hotel for two nights and an emergency came up so when I called the next morning to tell them I would be arriving that day they informed me they canceled my reservation and would not accommodate me. They did not offer me my refund or rebook me so they actually took my $330 dollars and would not give me my room. Superb customer service, staff was very much accommodating. Every summer we attend a convention at UMass and each time we have stayed here for this event the staff has provided a tailored welcoming kit for us. Rooms are always clean. Pool area is also clean. We travel a lot for dog shows, conventions, etc., and have stayed at this hotel many times. The rooms are always clean and they offer breakfast in the mornings. They also have an outdoor swimming pool and a workout area. The staff is always friendly, especially the ladies in the breakfast area, who remember my name! The only complaint I have is that there have been a few occasions that the room I was given when I arrived was not what I reserved online. If it was only once I'd think it was just an innocent mistake, but I'm beginning to think the room types are entered incorrectly in the system somehow. I stayed at this hotel once earlier in the month and was scheduled to stay again last night. I knew from my previous stay that the rooms are dark and dated but it's in a nice location with a decent continental breakfast so we rebooked. If you book from any third party such as hotels.com there is a required 250.00 incidental hold. If you book directly through them it's 25.00. We were staying one night. I had some issues with my company card and had to put down my personal card until I resolved the issue within my company and accounting. I forgot to double check and make sure they swapped cards out before I left for the airport. I called in and tried switching cards over the phone and seeing if they could put my company card down again. (My company card is on profile, when I check in I'm always asked if we're using the card ending in -xxxx) when I explained the situation over the phone, the young lady did not seem enthused. Didn't let me finish. She interrupted me and said, "let me get my manager". She got back on the phone and told me I had to fill out some paper work in order to do so and there was no card on file. When I tried telling her my member number she rose her voice and spoke over me. I said thank you and hung up. Needless to say, I will not be returning here. I'd give this property the 4 stars it deserves, were it not for the manager. It's a Hampton Inn, so you know what to expect, and it meets those basic expectations. I arrived mid afternoon last week, after I was unable to find a suitably-priced Marriott property. I found this Hilton brand property for $129/nt, using Google. All other hotels were (amazingly in Springfield of all things!) about $190 to $250. The clerk had to get the Google rate I found approved by calling her manager. Then the normal check-in process. During that time, the manager showed her face to question the Google screen I was looking at! So amazing I spent 5 more minutes confirming this nonsense. She is not an asset to the Hilton group. Love this hotel! I enjoy staying at Hampton Inn's but sometimes you are not sure what you are going to get. Location is very convenient. Close to the highway. I had my dog with me and they were so sweet to him. They petted and gave him the attention a chocolate lab needs! It was easy to walk him around the hotel to relieve himself. He also enjoyed walking around the shops that were so close. The more people the better for him! I did have to move but this wasn't really the hotels fault. I am a light sleeper. The lady at the desk was so sweet. We were trying to fix the automatic air because the maintenance guy was busy. Then I asked him I could just move. She immediately gave me a new room. Such a pleasant visit! If I go back home again I would definitely stay here with my dog! read more

Horrible Evening!!!  Aug 4, 2020 Don't get me wrong the hotel was clean enough, staff was friendly and accommodating, but I was very disappointed in a situation that happened, and was not handled in the proper manner! We had a person staying in the room beside us. They had a dog that was barking constantly. I called the front desk around 530pm and told them that I didn't want that to be an issue all evening, and they said they would take care of it. All night they were constantly screaming, playing loud music, which in turn the dog was incecently barking. I called and told them this is not okay and they needed to take care of this! I could hear security bang on their door, which made the dog bark even more. I heard screaming then silence for about 5 min. Then came a slamming stuff and they started kicking our door and screaming at us! I called the desk and told them I was done, as this is absolutely unacceptable and I didn't feel safe. They said they are taking them to another floor and watching them for the remaining time we are there. I was not comfortable at all, and I felt in danger that they were going to retaliate against us! They didn't remove them from the hotel, and I'm from out of state and at that point it was 345am, so I wasn't going anywhere. so disappointed with how things were handled honestly. The staff was so nice, but it didn't help in getting absolutely NO sleep and felt in danger for myself, my boyfriend and our car! I travel a lot for convetions with my sister and we always try to locate a Hampton Inn near the con location. We have NEVER ever had a problem with any of them. Upon entrance we were greeted by the front desk and checking in was pretty darn fast! Our room (as usual) was clean and ready. Very friendly staff as well. Breakfast is comped and unlike other Hampton Inns, this was was a bit small and lacked a few items...thankfully they had something I can eat, cereal. Not a bad hotel by any means and certainly worth the money. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are immaculately clean. The rooms are a little on the small side. However, when you consider the pool, fitness area, and free breakfast, this deal can't be beat. The hotel is very easy to get to and only about 3 minutes off the Pike. There are also many restaurants in the area. When I find myself in western MA again, I will definitely consider staying here again! read more

my son and I stayed at this hotel for one night, 6/1-6/2/19 room 312, for a Bball torny. Sunday afternoon he begin scratching and it progress as we headed home. I then begin to an itch on both my arms while driving home. We self-diagnosed as mosquitoes. It progress on his whole body as he to have frequent itching spells on Monday during and after school. Decided to look at his body, in detail, Monday night, and took pics. Immediately thought of bed bugs and my family and I were freaking out!!!!! went to urgent care on Tues, and docs were scared to touch him b/c the itch became extremely irritable ALL OVER HIS BODY...(SEVERAL BITES AND SWELLING ON BOTH ARMS, CHEST, BACK, PRIVATE AREA, FRONT/BACK OF WHOLE LEGS, ON BOTH FEET!!!) They've diagnose of him and I having bedbugs!!! Extremely terrible AND HORRIFIC experience, had to throw everything Away and have my house bombed in case we brought them and eggs home, as instructions oF the doc. mY FAMILY AND I aRE livid and extremely upset! my son is home from school for the next 5 days b/c of this experience!!! we are not happy at all with the room being unsanitary and unhealthy. Also, the young lady at the front desk, we had issues w/and was very unprofessional. uP UNTIL this experience, we haven't had any issues with any Hampton Inns and that was why we've always chose this hotel. After speaking to the GM today, Tammy B, she has concluded that she did not want to call me back until the exterminator came. So "2 little bugs" went to town on my son like this and all you can do or as she said, she's "required to do" is refund the money for room, 312, that we've stayed in. Meanwhile my son is home from school, very uncomfortable, still scratching his whole body like he he's loosing his mind.... dr said that it'll take a while from it to go way and he has to go through this miserable, terrible and horrific experience all due to the negligence, unsanitary and unhealthiness of this hotel. read more

I wanted to write this recommendation while the experience was fresh in my mind. I was staying at the Hampton Inn, getting ready for dental surgery. I realized that I had forgotten my iPhone charger at work and had taken medication that precluded my driving safely. I went to the front desk to ask whether they sold or rented phone chargers. They said they had none available and told me where I could buy one. When I explained my situation, one of the gentleman at the front desk - I think his name was Tim - offered to go and buy one for me. I was dumbfounded that he would go out of his way to that extent. He came back within 15 minutes with the charger and receipts. He obviously went above and beyond the call of duty. I often stay at hotels that would be considered higher tier hotels and wonder whether they would have had staff members that would've reacted so immediately and empathetically. This behavior was the icing on the cake: I was greeted with a smile every time I walked in the door, was asked whether being on the first floor was OK with me, and was treated to a meticulously clean room. Love this hotel, it is a very well used Hilton property which is a plus and a minus. We stay here often, however the place is starting to look rundown from all the use. The rooms have become very damp and the carpet smells like feet, lol. People change your socks! Sometimes the AC just doesn't cut it, adding to the dampness. The upside is the front desk is always friendly and helpful and breakfast is pretty good and Housekeeping is friendly and accommodating. Can't beat the location so in spite of it all we will be returning. Hope the feet smell is gone! read more

I have stayed here often and I'm very disappointed to say that next time I will go back to the residence inn. The staff here is ok I just feel that during the week there are many business travelers This time my room had a connecting door and the connecting doors are hollow. You can hear everything from the room next door. So if the parents put the kids in the room while they go sleep upstairs well kids will be kids and that's great but I wonder if mom lets her kids play basketball inside the living room at home he way they do in the hotel room no? You don't think so ? Well maybe you should have stayed here. Or I wonder if mom and dad let their kids stay up til 1:30 in the morning yapping away and being kids.
