The owner of the business is extremely unprofessional. Shortly after I had the locks installed my business was robbed. It was easy for the thieves to get in because the security plate and spin ring on the outside were not reinstalled when the locks were replaced. Granted thieves can hit anywhere, my business was an easy target because the security precautions were not put back in place. Needless to say- I had a different locksmith out to fix the lock. He took the time to explain how my lock was easier to break because these precautions (spin ring and plate) were not put back on and would have made the theft a much harder one to execute. Hire a professional who will take the time to do the job correctly and who takes enough pride in their work to do a good job, not a quick expensive one. read more

Watch out for this company! We reached out needing to get 2 keys programmed and cut and were quoted a price which we agreed to. When it came time for payment they pulled the old bait and switch on me and added an additional excessive charge because they had to drive approximately 1/4 of a mile on a dirt road. These guys are crooks with terrible customer service. I lost my keys and gave them a call. Dan the technician came to perform the service. He originally quoted me $160. Before he performed any work he asked me to leave a 5 start review, which I did hoping for some favorable pricing. After doing some diagnosis he said it would be $270. While making small talk with him I told him where I worked and in his opinion it was a very good job and I made good money. He then came up with another reason that the service would cost $370 and he didn't have the parts so he would have to order them and come back in 3 days. He also said he'd need a $50 deposit which I paid. 3 days later I hear nothing so I call and the dispatch tells me it will be another couple days. I continue calling every couple days and they keep telling me they will notify the technician and he'll give me a call. Of course I haven't heard anything from them and as of today it's been 2 weeks. During this time l've had to uber and rent cars which has cost me over $600 plus they took my $50 dollar deposit. I've now called a different company to perform the service at $320. Save your time and money and look elsewhere these guys are TERRIBLE!!!! read more

BEWARE! Dishonest locksmiths !!! They charged me for keys that they cut that DONT work because the key fobs were empty shells from Amazon that needed a circuit installed. They knew the fobs were empty before they cut the keys but they cut the keys and THEN told me they would not work and they charged me when they should of told me that the keys wound not work BRFORE they cut them ! I would not have to paid $200 for keys if I knew beforehand That I can't use !!! They are Dishonest thieves!!! I told them BEFORE they arrived that I purchased the empty fobs off Amazon and needed them cut and programmed. The locksmith agreed to come out and he knew when he arrived that the shells were empty because I texted him and told him about the fobs the day before. If they were honest, they would've told me that even if we cut these keys, they won't work with your vehicle. But they didn't ! the locksmith acted like he could program the fobs knowing that he couldn't , cause they are empty fobs and then he cut them and he charged me knowing that they would not work. Lousy product, lousy service. We had to get a new fob for our 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it works......sometimes. We can sit in the car for several minutes, trying over and over again to get the car to START or SHUT OFF because this p.o.s. key the sold us for $300 is 'damaged', according to the Jeep. But when we complained, oh well, clearly WE had done something to the key. Riiiiiggghht. We had the original key for a decade, but when we get a NEW key, suddenly we don't know what we're doing and we've somehow damaged the fob, so the Jeep reads it as a 'damaged' key. Liars, and conmen. But to THE POINT - this bad key also delays my wife from being able to get INTO the car when she needs to, potentially putting her in danger if she needed some quick refuge. She stood outside the Jeep trying to get the doors to unlock for 5 minutes yesterday after work. After she gets IN the Jeep, then it can be a few second up to several minutes of trying to get the car to start with this piece of shit key they sold us. Extremely frustrated and very disappointed with this company and its service and products. Lousy people, lousy products. read more

Require a quote in advance! Called them to unlock my car keys after I locked them in my trunk while unloading groceries. They cited it would cost $45 for them to send someone out and then they would provide an additional quote amount based on the estimate of work. The technician came out and the additional quote was $195 for a total of $235, but I was told not to worry about it because my insurance would probably cover it. Insurance denied of course. There was no transparency provided about how the extra $195 was calculated. Allegedly, it was just what his boss told him to charge. It took under 5 minutes to unlock my door. Find a different locksmith that will quote you in advance rather than hold you hostage once they arrive on scene. read more

My wife locked her keys in the car so I called Red Rocks as the reviews were good. The dispatcher took my info and had a technician call me to give me a time estimate and a price quote. The technician called about 5 minutes later and said he could be here in 35 minutes and it would be "100-ish". He arrived about an hour later (no biggie), but I was pretty disappointed that there was a $30 service charge he failed to mention when he gave me a quote. Final price tag was $135. They don't take check so I was forced to use CC which had an added fee (who carries that much cash anymore??). He got the job done quickly, but still feel a little misled. read more

I am disappointed with my experience here. I scheduled a tech days in advance for a simple deadbolt on a storage closet. They changed techs on me last minute, wanted to reschedule to a later time, called 6 times in a 25 minute span while I was in the shower, then were grouchy about me not picking up the phone. When the tech came out, he failed to pick the lock after about 40 minutes, and told me he believed something is broken in the lock itself (it's the newest thing in this building) and he will have to drill it out for an extra charge. I have tools to drill it out myself, so instead I was required to pay a service charge--that I was never informed of--for him to leave. read more

Called Keyme in Albuquerque to get 6 locks rekeyed. The return call was from Red Rocks Locksmiths. The locksmith said it would be $95.00 to rekey and two locks needed to be replaced. Charged $95.00 per lock and $240.00 for new locks. Total bill was $1159.99 Do not do business with Keyme or Red Rocks or you will be scammed like me. I would never have agreed to this outrageous amount if charges had been made clear. read more

Moe, the technician on the phone quoted me $55 service charge and $100/hr labor. he showed up to install a keyless deadbolt. The job took 20 MAYBE 30 mins. He charged me $210 in labor as well as a huge markup on the lock. I wish I would of disputed the charges while he was here but, I didn'. I feel like he took advantage of a senior woman. While I was out of town, Red Rocks Locksmith responded to a request from someone I had not given permission to enter my home. Their technician Sean proceeded to drill through my front door keypad causing several hundred dollars of damage and then sent a bill for over $400. When I complained to Red Rocks Locksmith owner David Lahav that his company broke the law by illegally accessing my home, his Commercial Client Supervisor Clay Legara responded with "Unfortunately, since he never mentioned that he's not the property owner we could not take the necessary measures needed before doing the job. He requested, we completed it, and he paid as agreed. The rest is unfortunately out of our hands." Sounds like the standard policy for Red Rocks Locksmith is a don't ask, don't tell one. So anyone looking to gain entry to your home can call Red Rocks Locksmith, and as long as they don't mention they're not the homeowner, their technician will drill through your front door and let them in - no questions asked. David was highly unprofessional. He brought his dog to the job and let the dog off leash in my new neighborhood. When a neighbor got irate because David's dog attacked her smaller dog, he said she was overreacting. When I reminded him that there are leash laws in Boulder, he just shrugged. It took him three and a half hours to do a job that he said would take an hour and a half and he spent nearly an hour of that tie sitting in his van. I called Red Rocks Locksmith because my smart lock wasn't working and I was locked out of my home. However, before the guy (Josh) arrived, I had already opened the door myself with my phone app. Because I didn't want him to make the trip for nothing, I had him look at a couple of other things. One, was just to swap out a lock that I could have done myself with a simple screwdriver. That took no time at all. Two, I wanted my rooftop door wall to have a lock that could be opened from outside. After taking it apart, he went to a store for parts and was gone for quite awhile. When he returned, he put it back together and said I would need to order parts. He said he would email me the part numbers and where to get them and for a total of $308, he said he would return and put them on. Because he had spent some time at the store as well as taking the door wall latch apart, I paid him for his time. After about a week, I called to ask about what/where parts I needed. He wasn't friendly but said he would send the information. He never did. Plus, he quit responding. So, basically, I got NOTHING for my money except for one simple lock change that took 5 mins with a screwdriver.....I'm adding this AFTER the response. below. Of course your tech made up some excuse but it's NOT TRUE. I'd LOVE to know what parts to order since I already paid for the HOUR+ it took him at the store for research only. It doesn't make sense. I STILL don't have parts and can't lock those doors! Send NOW vs ignore me and THAT solves that problem.
