I Googled "locksmith near me" and Highlands Locksmith popped up first, and they had a 'contact us' email & form. I purchased a car anti theft device on Amazon, and it came with 2 keys that had a huge plastic thing and didn't fit in my 'wallet' keychain (where the keys stack on top of each other), so the plastic 'head' wouldn't allow for it. I emailed them, and in the subject even said "NOT EMERGENCY", and I received a super quick response, helping me, and asking for more details (pictures, serial # and other items to help me out).. At the end of the day, I bought a no name product with some screwed up keys on Amazon - all me - but the service and helpfulness I got from Highlands Locksmith (Roee), was great! Highly recommended. The deadbolt cylinder on our garage entry door failed after 11 years. The Schlage warranty is useless as it is complicated and you have to mail the bad part to them. Plus, I never did talk with their phone support people as I gave up due the long wait time. Youtube videos convinced me that I just did not want to tackle this annoying project. 1. I had them re-key five locks at my house, and while scheduling the visit was easy, the initial window was 1-2pm, but the locksmith rescheduled to 3pm and showed up around 330pm. I appreciated that they did not charge a service fee within the Highlands, but they quoted me $19 per lock and charged me $25 per lock. Life Savers!!! During today's slight snow storm I lost my car key in a snow bank between my car and my home. aside from taking 3 and 1/2 hours to make an ignition key for my 2005 ford pickup, they broke the inside piece that secures the lock to the handle without telling me what they had done. after i had left and was on my way home to new mexico. (524 miles) i found out about the lock just turning inside the door handle so i thought no big deal, i will just go in and tighten the nut that holds the lock. at that point, it did not seem necessary to call highlands and report a problem. when my mechanic went in the door to repair the lock, he discovered a broken sleeve that holds the lock in place so the whole handle needed replacement to the cost of $220.00. at this point it had been 8 months i had been here. the response from the locksmith was "i do not have any proof we did anything wrong". even i explained how i thought it was a loose nut come loose, he still said it had been too long. wrong answer!!! read more

Dont call these guys, seriously save yourself the trouble. They came out to rekey my car, after 10 minutes of the person being their he told me it would be double the price that it was originally quoted to me over the phone. He then took apart my lock, cut 11 keys without my permission, then told me it was $10/key, left me with a key that DID NOT work, he actually did not put a piece of my lock back into the door so the outside is missing a piece and charged me $200 bucks. I called the owner and he said he does not give refunds...even though i was completely scammed. Definitely do yourself a favor and call another locksmith no matter how desperate you are. read more
