After working with this company I can 100% say DO NOT work with them or call them for automotive lock needs. After having one of my two key fobs stolen, we were quoted an price for service or reprograming the fob. When the initial locksmith could not complete the work, were were re-scheduled through another technician in Denver. This person brought his girlfriend with him to the job, did not complete the re-keying the car, turned on the check engine light somehow and also told me he drained the battery enough that I would need to recharge it. When I asked when he would complete the work, he simply said I should be happy as he did me a favor that "nobody else would do", that it worked good enough and then demanded money. I asked to speak to his supervisor where he gave me the office number and then drove off with my physical keys and left the back of the car opened up with the battery exposed. We have now been stuck in a loophole of either a call center or speaking with the technician who keeps asking why we needed to mention his girlfriend who was sick and needed to come along and why we want to resolve the situation with somebody in the company other than him. I'm uncertain how this will resolve, but I imagine I will have to go to either the dealer or another company and end up paying way more than if I had just done so in the first place. When we started we had a functioning key fob with 2 physical keys. Now we have zero keys and a car with a check engine light and a dead battery. I will update this when resolved. read more

Unprofessionalism from dispatch and their servicemen. Multiple times giving me false arrival times. My car was not at my house I had to meet them, and they wasted half of my day. When I asked the service worker why he couldn't have given me a realistic time earlier in the day I just got excuses and anger then got hung up on. The dispatch worker who was receiving calls around 3:45 pm on Sunday was rude and not listening to the problem. Was not owning up to the issue and not putting me through to a manager or supervisor. Don't stinge on your security - pay more for a more reputable company! There were several issues, including excessive charges, dishonesty, and the technician pressuring for tips, intimidation tactics. The technician also ignored phone calls. If you choose to use this service, don't pay anything until the work is complete. Be clear on the job details upfront, document everything, and record conversations or video when possible. Technician stole my key and pretended to forget that the key was ever made, charging me extra to make a replacement key. As a business they are okay and pick up calls, but they rely on independent contractor technicians and seems to have little control over their actions. These contractors have a lot of autonomy in how they handle customer requests. The business struggled to get the technician to return my calls despite repeated attempts, stating they only act as a middleman, even though they are the ones who get paid. I originally called Buffalo Security to rekey my new home. I made my appointment 2 weeks in advance. They failed to show up, and when I called them they wanted to reschedule me 5 days later. That was absurd. I called Red Rocks today. Their technician (Joey) came 3 hours later. He rekeyed my door in a timely manner, and it also ended up costing me less than what Buffalo Security was going to charge me. My doorknob was a little sticky, and Joey fixed that before leaving. Needed a car door unlocked. Reg car door, no smart keys or alarm. Most quotes were $35-$50 which we were prepared to pay. The guy shows up, unlocks the door, took 1 second... then asks what can we pay? We said we would pay him $50 and he proceeded to say that wasn't enough. Said we had to pay him $395!!!! After calling him a scammer and threatening to call the police if he didn't leave the property... he finally settled on the $50. Beware. If you are alone and female, do not call. I have left messages for management/owner to call me back after my daughter who is a college student at CU Boulder, had a terrible experience with two men who responded to help her enter her condo when she forgot her key. I have not received a call back. They don't care. The entire entry system was replaced costing roughly $250 and it took 2 1/2 hours, during evening (dark) hours. The first technician could not do the job, so he called for a second one to come and help him. One of the techs proceeded to tell my daughter about his criminal past and asked her if she wanted to go out after the job, and the other sent her a flirtatious text on her phone after the job, when she did NOT provide HIM with her phone number. Unwanted, inappropriate, unprofessional and downright predatory. When she had to fill out paperwork on a clip board at the end, she saw all of the days previous jobs, Names, Addresses, Signatures - really? So much for privacy from a company providing security. A dangerous and disturbing encounter that no-one should have with a LOCKSMITH company, of all places. You have been warned. read more

Some confusion over pricing - but they made it good! Apparently due to new staff. I called for help retrieving my keys from my locked car. I was told it would be $19.95 plus "maybe" some labor if it was difficult. They were very close by (according to their web site). They subcontracted that work out, and it was $100. I was told it was a standard service charge and lockout charge. (It took them about 60 seconds). Not the locksmith's fault who came out - but if you ask what the charge should be, you should get something much closer to the actual, especially when this was a "standard charge". Also, it is not a 20 minute response time (it was almost an hour). Won't contact again. UPDATE: Company messaged me via Yelp. Emailed them screen shot of when I called them, and replied to message. They offered a full refund of the overcharge of $80; I thought it more fair to just split it and they credited me $40. read more

One of the worst companies with whom I have ever done business. Repeatedly have let me down. Requested a service call 5 weeks ago. Tech came out, diagnosed problem and needed to order a part, and said it would take a week or two to get the part. Fair enough. Called back after two weeks of silence, and was told it would be another two weeks. Still no word after three weeks, so called again, and was told that the tech would call me to discuss. Nothing. Called again the following day, and told the same thing. With the same result. Called AGAIN, and asked to speak to a manager. Was told that I couldn't, and that she (Katrina) would have a manager call me. Not acceptable after five weeks of lies and failures at every level. I was told I was being charged $87 for a service last week and then found that they charged me $224. The service was picking a key out of a lock that broke off. It took the technician 10 minutes. It took 3 Calls to get a response. The person who called me refused to give me his name, was argumentative and called ME a liar!! Run don't walk from this unethical business. Awful! That was my experience with this company. Needed a car key, called the local number (it's actually a call center), explained my plight, and was assured a callback. None. Called again. Same story. After 3 days I took the bus to their address - only to find the door locked at 3:00 PM on a business day. Just plain don't even TRY to do business with these people. I had locked myself out of my room on Labor Day and called these people. A locksmith showed up about an hour later. Was never informed of pricing until he arrived and told me it was 179.00, the total of a service call and labor. No big, figured it was my fault for not asking earlier. He couldn't get me in my room, ended up denting the door frame trying to pry into it with a screw driver, then told me he'd have to drill out the lock and destroy it for me to get in. I said no and told him never mind. Didn't need more than one thing messed up that day. I lease and didn't want to lose my security deposit for ruining the door. This Company Does not deserve even one star! I hired this company to make a key fob for my friends car a Volkswagen Touareg. I borrowed this car and I lost the key. I got a quote at $400, this quote was the going rate compared to the three other Locksmith I called. The technician modified the car by changing out the pushbutton start with a regular key ignition without my permission. He took it upon himself to make the decision by altering the car and the value of the car. This was not even my car! When I contacted him and told him that this is not acceptable he then said that he had ordered a remote for me and he would program it once it came in. When I asked him when the remote would be in , he said he did not know. All other attempts by me to find out about the remote work has been ignored. I contacted the office manager, she was not concerned about the situation whatsoever. They feel like they do not have to resolve this issue. The technician was not very professional regarding the situation. If he felt like the job was too difficult for him, then he should turn down the job. That is what a true professional would do. He had no right to modify the car whatsoever without my permission he didn't even save the part. Now I have to take the car to dealership and have that part replaced the part alone is several hundred dollars That is not including labor. Then there is the key fob. I'll be lucky to get out of this fie 1000.00 I'm so upset with his company I'm going to the BBB, and consumer affairs. I will go all the way now. This is absurd. UPDATE: The tech and the owner called me after my original review and offered me a $34 refund back on the job they did. So in the end I paid a total of $90 to get my door unlocked on a Friday night at (around) 10PM. For their quick and immediate response, I revised my rating to 4 stars. While I do still have some sticker shock over the bill, I do understand this is a repercussion of my own irresponsibility in locking my keys in the apartment. Thank you Dan for calling and extending the courtesy. I really appreciate it. My technician was great - really nice, got the job done. BUT the company misquoted me on time of arrival: they told me 20-30 minutes, and he didn't arrive for at least an hour. Also misquoted me on price - told me $29 for the technician to show up and "$25 or more" depending on the door. I live in a brand new luxury building with standard doors, nothing special. In fact while I was bored waiting for an hour I was able to pick my friend/neighbor's door (same door as mine) with a credit card. So it's not complicated. I scheduled an appointment and when 15 minutes past the appointment time came around, I called the company. The man that answered the phone never asked my name or address to confirm the time and hung up the phone to call the technician. I called back thinking the line dropped and he stated he was calling the technician (again, never asked for my information) and then he didn't call back for 6-7 minutes. I then called a third time and was just given the technicians number to call myself, no answer. I am sincerely disappointed with the lack of follow up when someone misses a scheduled appointment, which would've been enough to write a poor review, and to send your customer on a wild goose chase trying to get a hold of you.
