Excellent. I called Lockstar first after checking out reviews. I had a different sort of problem - my lockset spring (an internal part) had broken and the manufacturer is no longer in business, so I needed someone who was willing to take the time to find or rig a suitable replacement. Very different from getting into a car quickly. He couldn't make it on my initial schedule, so I called a different firm (call it Firm B) that I've worked with before, but which does more run-of-the-mill locksmithing work. The Firm B rep came out very quickly, but had no luck matching the broken spring. He left saying they'd research it and get back to me. I called after a week and was told by the manager that they were still researching it and would call me back. Never got a call and it's been well over 2 months. So much for my initial schedule for getting this fixed! I could've called to remind them again, but why? They'd probably tell me to replace the entire assembly - no thanks, that would be the last resort. When the whole adventure hit that 2 month duration, I called Lockstar again. Quartz (Brett's name now?) was again very professional on the phone. I explained the issue and sent him photos of the busted spring and the rest of the internals. He replied with some ideas (on a Sunday!). I made an appointment. He showed up right on time, took the lockset apart, worked on it in his mobile shop while parked in front of my house, and quickly had the set fixed and back in action. The replacement spring is not exactly like-for-like but it works just fine. No problem for me - the spring is entirely enclosed by the rest of the unit so if it works properly, I don't care what brand it is or what it looks like. So - I highly recommend Lockstar. They will listen, pay attention to details, be willing to develop a more creative solution than just replacing things, and live up to the customer's expectations - all at a very fair price. read more
