This is a very small place. They have 2 girls who do everything, bus tables, take orders, check out at register and they were very organized. So I want people to know I rarely write a review for good food and service. If the business is open for food and service I expect them to be doing their job. Now with that said, when I get horrible food I'm going to say something. I go to the Redrock Wednesday evening for a bowl of soup. They said the soup was chicken noodle, even though it said vegetable beef on the specials board. Lol. That stuff was so salty I could only choke down a third of it and I told the lady it was to salty. She said yeah that smoked chicken can be pretty salty.. ok. So my friend gets the soup and he confirms also that stuff was VERY salty. Return the next day for lunch and had the vegetable beef soup which is what they were advertising on the board. Same thing! Couldn't eat it! Salt salt and all salt. The cook must have mounted some turbo driven motor to his salt shaker! I thought this place had a lot of promise based on reviews. The reality was a little disappointing. The salad bar was very scant -- lettuce, cucumbers and dressing. The chicken fried steak was decent, but so salty it was almost ruined. And they were out of dinner rolls (promised by the menu) and didn't tell us until the food came. The Mrs. and I ate here twice while we explored the Badlands. I give it five stars for their breakfast, and three stars for their dinners. They use locally raised pork and beef for their meats, and it shows in just how awesome they taste. The sausage gravy was so good it induced tears. The chicken-fried steak was brilliant. If you are passing through Wall, then this is a great option outside of the busy strip where all the shops are. This bar/restaurant is only a couple blocks away and was open seating. We grabbed a spot by the food bar. We did not part take in the salad bar but it looked good with the fresh food. We decided to try the buffalo burger, fries and Ruben. The buffalo burger was a little more pricey but it was worth it. I really enjoyed the flavor. The waitress was a little distracted but our food came out hot and very good. I think if you are wanting to get away from the bustle of Wall Drug area, this is the spot to sit down and enjoy lunch or a drink. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in on our way back home and with the options for dining in Wall were a bit limited after 7pm, we chose Red Rock. The reviews were mixed but again....not a lot of options. When we arrived they had the tables marked off for COVID precautions and the wait staff was wearing a mask - my only concern and honestly a little bit confused is why they were taking so many precautions but then to have a salad bar option where people were touching and breathing near the food was a little odd (I didn't order the salad). I ordered the Eagle burger (the breakfast burger) and I appreciated that they donated 25 cents for each one sold to the local school district. My boyfriend ordered a traditional burger and he upgraded to cheese curds and I ordered waffle fries. The only compliant was they asked us how we wanted our burgers cooked - I asked for medium well and my b-friend asked for medium - they looked exactly the same when we bit into them; well done. Not like a hockey puck well done but not what we ordered - not being a burger snob here but if you're going to cook everything the same, just don't ask. The fries were crisp and cheese curds would be what you would expect from a sysco food service; nothing extraordinary. However, I did enjoy my meal and for the limited options in Wall (and I have eaten at another location that is still in town) this is definitely the better option. read more

After a 15 hour drive we checked into our hotel and and looked up local places to eat. We found Red Rock and with how the website looked, we thought we'd try it. Drove just a little way down the road, it was packed at 7:30pm. We thought that was a good sign. We walked in and the young hostess told us it was a 20 minute wait, then placed a piece of paper in front of my mother in law to write her name down. 20 minutes went by and we were seated. Finally a few minutes later another lady stopped to see if we'd been helped, No. She took our drink orders and wondered if they had the beer? My wife and mother in law asked about the salad bar, she glanced over at it and said she'll have someone else serve us while she re-filled everything. She asked the hostess to get our order, she never came over. The other lady (never introduced herself) "well I guess she's not going to help". The hostess sat people behind us, told them "we don't have this, this, this, this, or this off the menu. They wanted a drink, "no drinks, accept beer, and most of those are out too." They also ordered, she wrote their order down while staring at them, not looking at the paper. All that while our waitress re-stocked the salad bar. The staff were running around and into each other, while the hostess stood her ground. I sipped my beer because I didn't think I could get another one. I loved working in the restaurant during the busy hours. Great leaders and staff make things so smooth. My steak came out, cooked perfectly, baked potato was luke warm. It's really absolutely nothing special. Wall is a small town no matter how you slice it and it shows in their restaurants. Everything is prepackaged - even their mashed potatoes. I had the wall burger, which for $11 is not terrible for Wall. But the patty lacks flavor because it's premade/frozen and it's just monotone in flavor. It's a bunch of really fatty flavors with not even one onion in site for an acidic component. This place would get 2 or even 1 star for the food, but what saved them was the fact that the service was nice and responsive and they served local crow peak beer. read more

Absolutely loved this restaurant. Just arrived in town today. From the outside wasn't positive, but with limited options was willing to take a chance. As a kid growing up, I had chicken fried steak three times a week. In the 30 years since then I have had less and less. In the last 10 years I have probably only had it once or twice a year. And when I do I am always disappointed. It is typically way over battered with a very thin chewy strip of steak. Today was my birthday, so I thought I would forget the diet and order something I once loved. I wasn't disappointed. The steak was unbelievable. The meat inside the batter was at least an inch thick. So this is a restaurant. It serves food. Food that you can eat, and is edible as well also. They make sure to have at least TWO vegetables on their salad bar. However, the night that I went there was only two veggies (apart from the lettuce obviously), and one of those other veggies on the salad bar were already in the salad mix they used. No biggie, bit fan of carrots actually so...plus one or minus one...? Not sure. Anyway, this place was really, a place to get food. I hope that the absolute middle of the road in almost all aspects of this is coming across. Can't say anything too bad about it (see two vegetable comment above) but nothing too good. Cheap beer, with some good beer in bottles- plus 1. Overly salted steak-minus one. Had mashed potatoes AND both were pretty tasty-plus a bunch. Garvey was quite gelatinous-Minus a bunch. We stopped in for breakfast and found out that they don't actually serve breakfast. So, we opted for burgers, which is the majority of the menu. My wife and I both had the Creighton burger-- 1/3 pound patty, Gouda, bacon, and bacon jam. The burger was dry and I think that it was a frozen premise patty. The bacon jam wasn't jam at all--more of chopped bacon with some sugar added. Definitely not worth the $13 price point. Waffle fries, potato oles, and regular fries were good.
