I wish I could give a review, but every time I went by there to order they were closed. When I was in Wall it was during the Sturgis Rally, I tried for 2 weeks while I was there to order food. Unfortunately that's why I can only give it a 2 star. It looked like a cool spot and was in a great location with a small hometown vibe. I hope it's still around or open next time I'm in Wall. I would really like to try their food. I'm hoping that I will be able to give it more stars after I eat there. read more

Wakin' Bacon is one of the hidden gems in Wall, SD. If your'e in the area and are looking for excellent value & great food - look no further! The folks running Wakin' Bacon are super nice, down to earth, and helpful with the menu. We stopped by late on a Friday night, and I for one am always a big fan of breakfast for dinner, so Wakin' Bacon absolutely hit the spot! The menu has some great staples, and everything we ordered was fantastic, so I'd expect that's the case all around. Another highlight is just the atmosphere around Wakin' Bacon -- though it's adjacent to the motel, the outdoor seating area is fantastic. Low key, but lots of options! On the night we stopped in, there were some live performers and the tunes just added to the appeal. Double bonus, being able to bring a dog to the eating area is epic; not only does your favorite four-legged friend get to join for the party, but you also get an opportunity to make new friends as a result. Overall, I'd highly recommend Wakin' Bacon to anyone in the area -- no asterisks! read more

Wow!!!! Just WOW!! I was going to get tourist trapped at Wall Drug (hungry but not really looking forward to a mass produced meal) then I saw Wakin' Bacon. I ordered 1/2 biscuits and gravy with an egg and sausage patty. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious! The gravy is a must have! Even though it was raining I decided to sit under their canopy. It was dry and comfortable. read more

Their menu is a pretty standard all American breakfast with options of egg sandwiches (bacon, sausage, hash browns) and toast/English muffins, whole grain or white bread. Their sausages are pretty good, but my eggs were a bit overcooked. Service is fairly quick and the owner is super friendly and nice. It's a very casual feel with outdoor seating. Stopped in after visiting the Badlands, and heard to SKIN WALL DRUG CAFE which was the most accurate and honest review I could have ever read (unfortunately had to eat at Wall Drug the next day and a $19 breakfast sandwich just isn't it). Wakin' Bacon was cheap, clean, delicious and the ingredients were fresh!! We both got the Turkey and ham deluxe sandwich with a side of chips, and as I said, it was just DELICIOUS! So clean, fresh produce, tasty, all around amazing!! We wanted to go back the next day for breakfast but unfortunately they were closed for the hour we were in town (hence the Wall Drug disappointment). Great service! Thank you, Yelp, for steering us here. Great fresh made to order food. Nice little pit stop before driving the scenic pass to Badlands. The spinach egg white avocado breakfast sandwich had generous egg and avocado and just a hint of lemon to keep taste bright. Highly satisfying. BLT was better than many restaurants. Forget Wall Drug for lunch and hit this food truck up for lunch instead. This was an unexpected find before heading into the badlands. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and a burger with fries. Very simple yet very tasty. This is a one man show. So expect a bit of a wait if there is a rush. But not to worry, the prep is efficient and the orders came out quicker than expected. Stopped in before visiting the Wall Drug Store and was really happy we found this little food truck. We ordered the combo biscuits and gravy, one with sausage and the other with bacon and both were fantastic! The gravy was a sausage gravy and the biscuits were fluffy and filling. Our chef and new found friend was also one of the owners of Wakin' Bacon and we found him very friendly and engaging. The service was quick and simple, the outdoor tables were all we needed to finish our meals and I think best part was one of the local farmers, 86 years old and full of fun, heartwarming stories about his life, cattle and family. [= Stop in while you're in Wall and give these guys a shot at your business. It's a great idea to get some savory breakfast in before you hit the drug store where you'll have no other choice but to indulge in all the candies and such. What a delightful surprise to find this place open and with live music on our drive along Route 90. Breakfast all day is always a way to my heart.
