Cute little coffee shop with 2 swings outdoors that made for an enjoyable experience. The Americano was delicious. They have many syrup flavors, bubble tea, and food options too. Order outside at a small window.

If you're travelling through Wall, much like we were, the first thing you should know is that there isn't a ton in this small town aside from Wall Drug, so from my research, Stompin' Grounds is one of the better options in town when looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast and caffeinated beverage. First things first, Stompin' Grounds is a coffee stand with outside seating. We were fortunate to visit South Dakota during a nice stretch of weather in late July and it was a beautiful morning to sit outside and enjoy our breakfast. You'll want to keep this in mind if you're hoping to find somewhere to sit and eat if it's hot outside. We each ordered different iced lattes and breakfast sandwiches. Our kiddo was disappointed as while donuts were advertised (and a few on display) there were none for sale. I think the ones in the case were likely old and for display only. The girls working though, could not have been kinder and we ended up getting our daughter some mini cinnamon roll bites instead which she really enjoyed. Now to the food and drink - overall the food and coffee is probably a 3/5. I found the latte to really be lacking in coffee flavor, but it got the job done. If the breakfast sandwich hadn't been so expensive, I think I would have had a better impression of it, but it honestly tasted like an imitation bacon gouda from Starbucks but was twice the cost. My husband's breakfast burrito though, was truthfully VERY good, so if you go here I think that's the way to go. Lastly it should be noted that there are no public restrooms here. Finally, in case this was too long, 4/5 stars because Wall doesn't have a ton of options, this place is local, is doing something creative, and has the nicest folks working there. It's worth supporting this little independent business overall.

    $6.50 for this breakfast sandwich...

Was looking for a breakfast to go and since none of the gas stations have breakfast items for some reason I went to Stompin Grounds. I ordered a sandwich, which came out of a cellophane package and was microwaved for me. The sandwich is less than 4" square, about an inch thick, and cost $6.50. Had one piece of bacon on it. Maybe they've got good coffee or something but I'll never know because I'll take my money elsewhere. Normally I don't write negative reviews but this made me sad

Besides its captivating location in the small town of "Wall" (close to the Wall Pharmacy), this coffee shop offers homemade desserts and extensive coffee combinations. Family-owned and well positioned in a corner parking lot, you won't be waiting in line to get some of the best coffee in the area. I ordered the blueberry-yellow flavored muffin: A+. The coffee was freshly brewed and coupled with sugar-free pumpkin syrup. And the menu offers sandwiches, bagels, smoothies, donuts... you name it! Get at it! You'll want more the moment you leave their door. If you look elsewhere in the area, you won't find many decent coffee spots so this is one shop you can't miss.

Nice little coffee shop in Wall! We were here on a road trip and needed some caffeine. Service was good and fairly quick. Place is cute but pretty small however there is plenty of outdoor seating. Overall I'd recommend for a coffee/breakfast spot when in Wall!

Great service with friendly staff and excellent coffee options - hot or iced, lots of flavors to choose from or mix, and dairy alternative choices too, along with other drink menu items (smoothies and such). We had an iced latte and a hot latte of our choice and the last two mini cinnamon rolls which were delicious.

Adorable little places to sit at astro turf outside and places to sit inside while waiting for your order. There's a bright bakery area. From 6am to 2pm this is THE place to get coffee if you are anywhere near Wall. There is a drive thru if you don't want to park. Breakfast sandwiches are available too. The awesome owner decided my sandwich came out too messy and made me a second one instead, before I even saw it. It is so nice to have people treat you as they would treat their family members. If you see this little brown building, don't wonder if you should stop, just STOP!

This is a must see stop in Wall, SD!…read more I was worried it'd be too much of a tourist trap. And it is touristy. But it is cool and historic, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable (certainly better than Cracker Barrel, and at least Wall Drug is a one of a kind!). I was there for the food, but the rest of my family enjoyed wandering through the shops and playing in the outdoor area. They really do have free ice water and $0.05 coffee. Mind you, the water is icy but not especially tasty (well water?), and the coffee is pretty blah, but it was charming that they maintain those prices. I had the fish and chips, and then I had a chocolate frosted donut for dessert. The fish was three small pieces, and one piece was over-fried, but the fish was flaky. It came with a pre-made, hyperprocessed tartar sauce, but one smell of that, and I decided to stick to ketchup. The fries were fine. My husband had a buffalo hot dog (he said it was fine) and the broccoli cheddar soup (he enjoyed that). The kids ordered off the kids menu. Condiments are all in single serve packets except the ketchup, which comes from a dispenser. You order at the counter, then you find a seat. There is seating for 530, which I imagine would be rough in the summer, but we were there in March, so there was plenty of seating and a very short wait to order or get food. They call your number when the food is done. I think I waited about 10 minutes, which gave me time to get drinks and read the brochure with the history of Wall Drug. There is a person who clears the tables, so you don't have to bus your own table.

The place is massive and feels like it sits halfway between a classic tourist trap and a legitimate retail stop. Some sections were actually really fun to browse, and I enjoyed exploring the variety of shops. That said, seeing a lot of made-in-China merchandise was a bit of a deterrent for me. The dining options were on the pricey side, and the food quality was just okay, nothing memorable or to write home about. Overall, it's one of those iconic Americana roadside stops that's worth visiting once in your life, especially if you have time to spare and enjoy quirky travel experiences.

The bartender was a darling -- professional, pleasant, fun, and thoughtful. She took good care of me, and made sure I was able to get dinner even though it was close to the kitchen's closing time. Badlands Bar has been remodeled and the interior is bright and welcoming in a natural wood finish for very basic, hand built looking furniture. The restaurant bar is quite big and I can imagine it can get quite busy and accommodate a lot of people. It's very, very clean throughout. Forndinner, I had steak tips with fries -- I asked for medium rare and it came medium well. The meat was nothing special but it was definitely lean and and exactly what I was looking for after days of backpacking in the Badlands. The French fries were great, although next time I will try the coleslaw instead. The fat fried homemade bread was not as good as one of the servers said it would be. The price for my dinner was absolutely reasonable. I will definitely return after my next trip to the Badlands.
