Haven't been to a Dairy Queen before. Visiting badlands national park and stayed in Wall. The Dairy Queen is close by and I decided to give it a try since I have heard the name all the time. I ordered chicken strips basket, the chicken is pretty good, crispy and flavorful. The soda machine was not working at the beginning, but a server came out and fixed it right away. What a treat to find a DQ in such a small town. Its service was exceptional. Was greeted upon coming in, and the young lady at the counter was very polite. I ordered the 6 piece chicken strip special with cheese curds. And of course you have to get a Blizzard, and served to you upside down when handing it to me. I take back to my younger years as a kid. The inside was clean and very nice, a small town vibe for sure. I have noticed every where I go in Wall that the fly's are very pesky, but that isn't by any means on the DQ or any other businesses in Wall. I look forward to returning on my next visit to Wall. Good service and good fast fried food but frequently out of chocolate soft serve. I do not like vanilla ice cream. We are local and will stop by for a cool off after a hard day working cattle only to find out they have no chocolate ice cream. It was hot while I was visiting Wall, South Dakota, and the only thing that would satisfy was ice cream. I was filling up at the gas station and saw this Dairy Queen so I decided to pull through the drive-through for some refreshment. Dairy Queen always satisfies! To be honest this might be more of a three star DQ, but I'm bumping them up to four simply because there are SO few options in this area and if you, like me, find yourself with young children after taking in the Badlands, you'll be grateful to have something a little less expensive than stopping at Wall Drug for lunch. It was very busy, and the store itself could have been a bit cleaner, but given how busy it was, I don't see when the staff would have had the time to work on that. We were lucky enough to snag a table, our food came out hot and fresh, and we left happy and full. For a quick fast food stop, it checked most of our boxes. read more

To quote my friend, "This is the best customer service I've ever received." James and a male cashier (Didn't get his name) were working and quickly got our orders in and out. I got a refreshing strawberry milkshake and our group's food came out hot and crisp. The tables were clean and there was no crowd. Horrible in every way.old unmaintained building. The drive through speaker doesn't hardly work. The employee mumbled and was not friendly. Tye ice cream came out barely above the one. After when we went to the red rock restaurant, we wanted desert and I found a Dairy Queen close to us so we went there. The workers were very friendly, and we got our desert pretty fast. After an unsuccessful attempt to stop at Wall Drug, we decided to get drive through and find a spot to eat with our dogs. Our food was par for the course for fast food. Chicken Strips and a Cheeseburger were okay. Diane raved about her Strawberry Sundae, but my Chocolate Malt barely had any Chocolate Flavor. After 8 hrs on the road coming in from MSP I was hungry, tired and wanted to get a bite before bed. Subway closed at 9:00pm so my last option was the local DQ (they are open til 10pm). Starring at the drive thru menu screen I was lost......I did not want a 1200 calorie fast food gut bomb sitting on my chest for the rest of the night. I cautiously asked the drive thru guy "how is the Turkey Bacon BLT" (500 calories0? He said it is "really good".... in a very genuine tone. I went with it. WOW, DQ has something other than Blizzards?! The Turkey BLT was fantastic (a little more mayo than I like but nonetheless great.) I took the time to talk with the owner/mgr the next day and told him how much I enjoyed the recommendation and sandwich. In fact, after spending the next 1.5 hrs in and around Wall Drug looking for something to eat I opted to go back to the DQ and get another Turkey BLT, light mayo and cut in half.....just delicious. Note: owner told me that DQ is considering discontinuing this sandwich. Hope they don't, I'll be back. read more

Hi Lauren here, Driving through South Dakota and saw a few signs for 'Wall Drug' and decided to check it out. Unfortunately, a van mate threatened to poop in the car if we stopped at the attraction. Grandpa Peter compromised and headed to this local Dairy Queen. Clean restaurant, nice lookin nice cream cakes, and even a child dressed as a penguin! Shoutout to Noah with the football ice cream cake!! Despite these factors, we were all very heartbroken by the lack of crunch on the crunch cones. PLEASE DONT SKIMP ON THE CRUNCH. If you visit this Dairy Queen, check out the grass patch across the street to enjoy your ice cream. read more

As a passerby, and having a love for Dairy Queen's, I have to say, this was one of the top 3 best I've eaten at. The burger was so-so, but the fries were perfect. The staff was courteous and professional and our blizzards were 10/10. Highly recommend. read more

Worst DQ I've ever been to. Horrendous wait times, the idiot behind the counter laughed when we asked for the blizzard "a bit chunkier" (you know, so they don't blend the blizzard toppings into sawdust). Whether he thought I was joking or didn't understand the request, I explained it, and a few minutes later the blizzard was just mush (no chunks). My Orange Julius wasn't frozen in the least, and it was probably another TWENTY MINUTES FOR A BURGER AND A CHICKEN SANDWICH, both of which, yes, even for DQ were flavorless trash. Out of mustard, didn't know where it was, and didn't care to find it. Mustard! I didn't see anyone over 20 working there, but that's no excuse; a DQ run well by teens is an American Classic. Avoid this place (and all of Wall, SD for that matter) altogether. read more

We stopped by DQ on 6/14/20 and there was a long drive thru line and a sign stating, "Drive Thru Open, Walk-ups Welcome." We got out and walked up to the lobby doors. The kid inside rudely motioned that we needed to join the drive thru line and walk up to the window. There is no place on earth where walking between two cars is safer than walking up to a counter. We were looking for something tasty and have always found DQ to be pretty good for a fast food chain. We weren't disappointed. The burgers and fries were good. The milkshake and mango pineapple smoothie were way too sweet, though. Sweeter than any other similar drinks usually are. We won't get them again, but we would stop at a DQ for the burgers. read more

The chili cheese dog wasn't bad but 7.50 for a hot dog and fries seems a bit much. When a hot dog is a dollar more than a burger, one has to wonder. The workers seemed a bit bored. It's fast food. What can I say? There aren't a lot of choices in Wall. Most of the restaurants have lackluster reviews, so I decided to take a chance with DQ. The food was cheap, fast and tasted fine. The place was clean and this was at the tail end of the lunch hour. So incredibly slow! We ordered five burgers and a chicken nugget and it took at least 15 minutes and we were the only ones there. They also screwed up our order, we ordered a plain burger and it came with all the fixings but there was no way we could wait to complain and get it fixed. This place deserves negative stars. Two dishwater blondes were working the counter when a father and his little girl (approx 4 years old) finished their meal and headed to the counter for the kiddie cone included in her kids meal. The blondes said he needed the tab on the back of the kids meal bag, which he had already thrown away. He let them know this and asked if he had to dig through the trash, which was followed by blank stares from the employees. So the father and daughter proceeded to leave without their included kiddie cone. How does one do this to a child while you just watched her eat the kids meal 5 minutes ago. This location needs to find some employees with a sense of decency. read more

If it was possible to leave zero stars, I would. We were turned away because we asked questions about the ingredients of the food(traveling with a child with food allergies). When asking for them to check the ingredients list, we were told by the girl working there that "Maybe you just shouldn't eat here" . We didn't. Do yourself a favor and just go on to Rapid City and eat--people who don't want to do the work to check ingredients for a customer likely also don't do the work to wash hands after using a restroom. read more
