First time at a Culver's that I'm not giving five stars. Kinda disappointing cause of how much I love this place. I ordered the SMALL value basket with two chicken tenders and fries which is what I ALWAYS order no matter what location I'm at. Very disappointing that it was almost $9 when at every other location it's only $7. I got my food and the tenders were SO FREAKIN SMALL!!!!! When you order a small value basket it's only the fries and drink that are small, not the chicken. So I paid more and got an even smaller portion than normal. Also ordered a small concrete mixer. It was good but the custard wasn't as thick and creamy as it usually is. It was very liquidy and was more like a thick milkshake. And that was when they handed it to me. And even that was more expensive. I usually pay $4 and this was almost $6. If you're gonna charge more for the same food, please make sure you give the customer what they pay for. We came in at 8 pm with my parents after a little social gathering we went to looking for a decent dinner, and so I ordered a butterburger with cheese value basket and asked for lettuce, grilled onions, ketchup and mayo and got only a few onions-- as if they only put a pinch on-- no lettuce, and no fries. I noticed the fries missing first and they were kind enough to give me them but the way they prepared my burger was lazy at best. My father ordered chili fries along with a concrete mixer mini, and the mixer was so melted down he could have drank it with a straw. I would also like to mention that in the wrapper on my burger there were two pieces of shredded lettuce, so I suppose they didn't completely forget the ingredients but instead put it on the side. I mean they might as well have just done the same with the grilled onions since they were similar in portion size. This was my second time at this location and I am honestly a little surprised and disappointed, the other one I go to is usually fantastic and never misses a thing, they even prepare the food nicely. We came in here becuase my kids really wanted their cheese curds. It was about 4pm and not busy at all. The lady taking our order was very thorough and answered all our questions and special orders. Their custard of the day was chocolate reeces. It sounded so good and my kids loved it. I didn't try it becuase I've been eating healthy. I can rate the salad. First of all it's just called garden salad with no description what's in it. I had no clue that it included cheese and grilled chicken. I ended up picking the cheese out. The chicken was good but the overall size of the salad was disappointing for 9$. Lettuce is the cheapest thing in the salad, and if people are ordering a salad they are probably wanting more vegetables to begin with. Add more lettuce and put what's in your salads on the menus please! The vinaigrette #2 ingredient was soybean oil. That's not a healthy oil to be consuming. Visiting from out-of-town, I had never heard of or seen a Culver's before. I thought I'd check it out! Service was odd, ranging from almost hostile indifference to latent fear. I had the patty melt, which was fine. It needed something, which I determined to be Tabasco sauce, but having dealt with the previously mentioned service I didn't want to attempt to ask for. I dipped it in ketchup instead. Mashed potatoes were not worth the effort. The cheese curds shined though, if you decide to visit try those. All in all. I wouldn't visit again. read more

I went to this place as a recommendation from a CO worker who grew up with them in MN. The lighting and decor was very good. The staff was very kind friendly and helpful with suggestions of what to try. I decided on the Culver's deluxe Bacon burger basket. The burger was cooked fresh to order and seasoned The bacon was crisp and thick and paired well with the soft butter bun that held everything together well. The custard was great and full of flavor. Culver's rocks it. Have ate in several states and locations, and they all rock it. Rapid City is no exception. From the cleanliness to the food to their nice employees. The Double Cheese Burger and Fries always work for me and to complete it, a Vanilla Custard. Worth the stop when in the area. read more

In general I like Culvers. They've got good burgers - juicy, fresh tasting. We love the kids combos, as the portions are just right for my crowd. The ice cream is always good, and with multiple culvers in the rapid city area, we will go to one with a 'flavor of the day' that we find interesting. I don't like their fries...but that's a personal thing, my wife loves crinkle cut-style fries. In general Culvers is a favorite quick eats burger joint. Personally I'm a Five Guys fan, but Culvers is a close second for me. But this specific store really struck us with their staff. We had just picked up a puppy, and they supplied us with some things for the pup while she stayed in the car(water, treat). they were fine with me coming in and out (and in and out!) of the place, taking care of both kids and the dog. and helped my wife out when a piece of her order was missing. and then our car battery died! and a staff member came out to jump the car. The jump was super nice, but the big thing was that management didn't blink an eye on letting him do it, even though his shift was just starting. We're from out of town and decided that we really wanted some Culver's custard. We have a Culver's near our home town and have rarely been disappointed. This was the exception unfortunately. My son and I went to this location to pick up custard for the whole family an hour before their closing time and were informed that we could not have chocolate custard because they were out Maybe it's just me, but if your main business is custard sales, shouldn't you have have custard to sell to your customers? ‍ We enjoyed the desserts that we ended up with but were disappointed nonetheless. read more

I have been going to Culver's for many years. This was the worst customer experience I have known. Ordered an Italian ice with Strawberries and Mango. The server was pounding on the container to get product out. I know what Italian ice should be. It was a solid block of ice. Why would you serve a product that was so poor. The burger here tastes a lot like a Wendy's patty. You can tell that the burger was never frozen. The fries are not good. The onion rings are better. The buffalo chicken is good, my recommendation is to dip in the honey mustard. The normal chicken strips are not good. I had my first concrete at Ted Drew's in STL. I was excited to see that they offered something similar, but it tasted nothing like Ted's. I would pass on the concrete here. What did I learn today? So much better than other chain fast food. What can I say about these marvelous/juicy burgers. These burgers are work of art! On both visit I order the Culver's deluxe with cheese and a value basket (fries and a drink). The buns are round, soft and moist. The veggies are crisp and fresh. The meat and cheese are both juicy and savory. The whole burger from top to bottom goes well together like pineapple on pizza. Right before taking my first bite I had saliva dripping from my mouth. Luckily I was wearing a napkin that I unfolded and had it hanging from my collar. Once that burger touched my tastebuds my mouth exploded with pleasure. It was like getting a relaxing facial message from an expert on the beaches of Hawaii. It was drunken love to be honest. It all went well with a small order of fries. I gotta say the fries were warm and salty which I liked very much. One thing I did exchange was the the drink with a chocolate shake. Omg that shake was so delicious I almost brought the boys to the yard. The texture was right and flavor of the chocolate hit the spot! I've been stopping by here for quite awhile now but since my last outing I think they lost my business. Its a "hit or miss" location. If you're out for ice cream only then go for it but the hot food is a gamble. My last time there was a drive-thru lunch on 9/10/18 when I decided to try the new spicy crispy chicken basket with lettuce, tomato, pickle and mayo and onion rings instead of fries and a Pepsi. The order was confirmed by the attendant. When I got to the window the guy said he forgot if my drink was ice tea or Pepsi. I got my order and left. I stopped in the parking lot near Boot Barn to eat and when I opened the bag there were fries. I was pissed. I opened the sandwich, which looked great but there was no mayo. Who eats a sandwich with no sauce?!! Fuming. I debated going back but I paid for and confirmed my order and it was wrong. I pulled up to the drive thru speaker and said I just ordered and it was wrong. They said to pull around to the window where I was met by someone other than my original order taker. The guy asked me what was wrong and I told him I ordered onion rings not fries and there was no mayo or any sauce on the crispy chicken. I asked for mayo specifically. I perceived he didn't believe me but he said I would have to keep the fries because of sanitary reasons (duh) and he would make me onion rings but they would have to charge me for them!! And then he gave me mayo packets. I should have thought it out and asked for a refund but I was nervous as I don't usually make a fuss. So, Culvers I given you one too many chances. Culvers is def the best when it comes to fast food in Rapid.... But unfortunately this one really skimps on the lettuce, tomato and onion. Consistently. West Main St. is where it's at. Same food but always tastier and with far more lettuce, tomato and onions. West side location less crowded with faster service too. Win/win situation on the West side. read more

What can I say but I love Culver's, Butterburgers, and frozen custard! This location is as good if not better than other Culver's I've been. The staff is friendly and the food is good, as usual. Culvers is good, but fast food. Just like any other fast food place, it is not healthy but there are better choices over others. The ice cream is great, so good place to go for a treat! The restaurant on the inside is clean and has a fire place, so maybe a little fancier for fast food. I would recommend this place alot more than like McDobalds, Hardee's, Wendys, etc. read more
