    Buffalo wings
    Jeff K.

after touring mount rushmore, i wanted to get dinner and when i came to the downtown area of keystone i believe this was the only place open. I guess that's a plus for staying late. We were able to find parking in front as it was getting late and getting seated was not a problem. I found it also interesting there was a window to order food to go? I ended up getting the philly cheesesteak pasta and some buffalo wings. Both were good. The buffalo wings was a nice mix of drumsticks and wings and the buffalo sauce was great on it. I didn't know what type of pasta to order, so i asked the waitress which was the most popular. Apparently everyone gets the philly cheesesteak one. the pasta was nice and creamy and it came with a small piece of garlic toast. There is also a bar inside.

Couple of hours ago, we went to Mount Rushmore and tried finding a place to eat. We found this pizza place with a nice inviting facade. There were three groups waiting, but we were seated in less than 10 minutes. The boss Chris was the one who bussed the 3 tables and made sure we all were not waiting for a long period of time. Chris also took our orders. The food he recommendation was very delicious. We didn't have a chance to eat the pizza and as we became so full, thus took it to the hotel instead. Jason was also our server. Upon reading the sign outside, we realized he was the general manager too. He was an excellent employee. He was very visible to his customers, making sure everyone is ok. We were staying at the Holiday Inn Rushmore when a person approached us, looking for food to eat. It was late at night. We ended-up giving him the whole box of pizza. Didn't have a chance to try the pizza. But, the Lord used us to feed another person tonight. He was very grateful. I highly recommend this place. It's a must try while you're in town. 8-23-2021

Half taco- half chicken Alfredo. And a pepperoni with bacon pizza

ABSOLUTE STELLAR PIZZA! I was able to do a half n half pizza with taco and chicken Alfredo. Hubby got pepperoni with bacon added... almost no crust and the pizza dough was amazing. Chris our server was also awesome. Highly highly highly recommend hands down.

We came here after a long day of driving and hiking in the area, definitely craving pizza. We ordered a large pizza. Half Chicken Queso Crunch and Half Buffalo Chicken. It's not exactly thin crust pizza, but it's a little flimsy. I love that they do half and half with different pizzas. The Chicken Queso Crunch was recommended by the host and it was like eating taco on a pizza. Super good. Honestly, the strangest part was that they cut the pizza into 16 pieces like it wasn't round so the middle ones were kind of soggy squares and others were strange shapes, instead of just the traditional triangle slice.

Out here visiting the sites. Wanted to try the pizza. The ordering over the phone was simple and friendly. We ordered the pulled pork pizza. I do have to say I was slightly disappointed when it was chunks of pork just sparsely placed. Hoping for pulled pork and filling the pizza. The crust is premade so nothing special. I liked the bbq sauce that went well. I ordered a side of wings. Didn't come with ranch. Had the honey garlic sauce but it was mostly flavored of honey. Chicken was a little dry. Probably won't try again.

Walking through this tiny town in Keystone, we came across Boss' pizza and chicken. The chicken wings were nice and crispy and right amount of sauce. The pizza was ok, it was thin crust and a bit doughy as if it wasn't cooked all the way. They had some specialty pizzas like mac and cheese or cheeseburger, but we weren't that adventurous. Overall, it gets traffic because it's right in the middle with other food places and a spot to visit if you want a quick place to grab some food. I was satisfied with my wings.

The pizza was good however the Alfredo was too watery. Their service was average. And I like how close it is to Mount Rushmore

As someone who loves to road trip, I like to check out the "big name" gas stations along the highways. A couple of years ago, while on a west-to-east road trip, I decided to check out a Sheetz gas station to see what they were all about. When I walked in, it felt pretty typical. Nice atmosphere, corporate vibe, and either way, a seemingly great place to stop for a soft drink and some snacks. A man approached me. He was wearing extremely stained denim overalls and could have benefited from an appointment with a good dentist, or possibly a veterinarian. Based on his verbal articulation and commoner appearance, I gathered he was likely a local to Warren, Ohio. He confirmed this when he told me that his nearby Sheetz gas station was one of the only places he would order pizza from. In less colorful words, he explained that the pizza was surprisingly gourmet and that Sheetz should be recognized as a Michelin-star restaurant for it. Optimistically, I decided to trust this local man and his opinion. I ordered the same pepperoni-lover pizza that he did. The man wished me safe travels and walked out. I then observed him scratching his armpit outside of his vehicle before throwing his pizza into the passenger seat and driving away. After a brief wait, my ticket number was called and my pie was handed to me. Sheetz pepperoni-lover pizza committed the culinary equivalent of manslaughter. It looked like pizza, smelled vaguely like pizza, and then somehow tasted like someone baked a wet paper towel on top of a thick flour tortilla. The pepperoni contributed all the excitement of beige wallpaper, and the cheese had the personality of a tax form. Styrofoam trays make for more flavorful meals. That brings me to today. I've always thought of myself as a man who learns lessons, followed by better decision-making. While traveling through Rapid City, I was in the mood for some pizza. Off Omaha Street, an obvious pizza place caught my eye. I pulled into the parking lot, where, ironically, two older gentlemen were sharing a pie from this pizza restaurant on the back of their work vehicle. The restaurant is called Boss' Pizza and Chicken. It has an appealing storefront, clean windows, and attractive brick facades. I rolled my window down and asked the gentlemen how the pie was. Their response was poorly articulated, but nonetheless a resoundingly positive review. Some friendly words were exchanged between the three of us, and ultimately, I decided to go in and order a pizza. Great menu options: pastas, chicken, sandwiches, etc. I was feeling good about ordering the buffalo chicken pizza pie. A quick deal with the friendly staff, about a 15-minute wait, and my pie was ready. I waited to open the box until I was in my vehicle. Upon lifting the lid, my brain and mouth casually burst out, "$28 for THIS? Ha!" The "large" pie had absolutely no weight to it. They square-cut the slices, and with such an ultra-conservative amount of cheese, there was nothing holding the pieces together. It was like opening a puzzle box. The ultra-thin pieces went everywhere. Okay, okay, calm down now. Let's get to the pizza. I guess I just didn't learn my lesson after trusting that raggedy man in Ohio. When I bit into the pizza from Boss' in Rapid City, I had not experienced that magnitude of underwhelming disappointment since the day I trusted the raggedy man in Ohio. But the mere financial cost of this mistake was like pouring acid into a wound. Boss' pizza has the texture of a stale, unsalted saltine cracker, with a dusting of entirely flavorless sauces, a carefully measured .25 ounces of topping, and an eighth of a cup of what I can only imagine to be Great Value brand mozzarella that had been kept in a freezer for 11 months. This is the kind of pizza that gives Italians nightmares. Every time Boss' gets an online order, somewhere in Italy, a nonna wakes up in a cold sweat and doesn't know why. The pizza tasted like it lost a custody battle with flavor. The only thing truly authentic about that pizza was my disappointment. How could I be so thoughtless as to allow this to happen to me again? Boss' Pizza in Rapid City, your pizza should come with an apology letter on every box. 0/10. Would absolutely eat at Sheetz before ordering your $28 pie again.

I had wanted to try this brand when we visited the Mt. Rushmore KOA and was sorely disappointed they had so many unique flavors... but none that were multi-allergen friendly. Cue.... BENKY'S! Strange name, but friendly smiles and delicious creaminess-in-a-cup! I get chocolate peanut butter or some variation thereof (my favorite) at pretty much every ice cream place. Makes it easy for me to judge them more fairly. Benky's was creamy, the peanut butter swirled in very thin layers so it basically melted in your mouth... and the cute interior of the ice cream shop gave us a nice, cool air-conditioned place to relax and cool both our insides and outsides at the same time. They also had outdoor seating with umbrellas for shade if you're into running the sweat-race of "Can I finish this before it drips all over my hand or becomes a puddle of goo in my cup?" sort of thing. Went back in to grab a couple waters and they had a table pushed up against the cooler door and an employee was standing in the table putting up another light fixture so had to wait...which is fine, but I couldn't help but wonder if they planned to clean the counter/table after standing on them. There were a handful of other customers there besides us. Ice cream was fine but nothing to write home about, especially for the price. Likely will not go back again next time we're in town...just a weird experience overall.

We ordered the Philly Cheesesteak ($18), a Cheeseburger ($17.50 + $0.75), and the Grilled Chicken Platter ($14.50) for our kid. Total came out to $54.50 for three people -- which, okay, it's a tourist spot, so I expected to pay a premium. What I didn't expect was to pay premium prices for food that felt like it was barely tried. The Philly was overcooked and dry. The meat was dark and tough -- no juiciness, no flavor. For $18, that's just not acceptable. The burger looked decent but tasted flat and underwhelming. The Grilled Chicken Platter for my child was the most disappointing -- it's listed as "grilled" on the menu, but the chicken came out barely touched. Pale, soft, almost like it was steamed and then given a quick pass on the grill just for looks. The mashed potatoes and corn on the side were fine -- nothing special. I'll give credit where it's due -- the ambiance is genuinely great. Eating with a direct view of Mount Rushmore is a cool experience you won't get anywhere else, and the dining area has a nice open feel to it. Service was also okay, no real complaints there. But when you're spending $54 on a family meal and every main dish misses, the view only carries you so far. If you're visiting, pack your own food or eat before you arrive. You'll thank yourself later.
