After spending a long day on the road and the afternoon exploring Badlands National Park we were hungry! There weren't very many options for food but we saw locals pop into the Cowboy Corner for the foods. You know if the locals are eating there I the food is about to be Sue the owner was grilling up Prime Rib..... y'all that prime rib was *chef's kiss* and they were so nice!!!! Nothing special and a mean looking old lady at the counter! Nothing you can't get at a regular gas station. Boring.

Sue is the go-to in this tiny one horse town. She knows where to go, what to see, who to talk to, and is super nice! This little gas station has a small amount of groceries, Gas, and a restaurant! yep, right in the old garage bay. Sue has a menu, with one item a day, and you can get it served up fresh and homemade for lunch and dinner. read more

Such a great little 2 mile detour out of the Badlands. Coffee at the cowboy corner, just a couple of locals and a lovely owner. So much more inspirational and peaceful than the cafe at the Cedar Pass Lodge. It's a town of 65 people and has a bar, a cafe and a grocery. Real small town stuff that stories are made of. read more

Classic gas station and convenience store. They also serve lunches - every day has a specific meal. The gas is super easy to fill up your car with once you learn it. Lift the handle, and pump your gas first, then pay inside along with any other items you'd like to purchase. Old school, but it works! Try to remember your amount so it's easier for them to ring you up. The food and drinks for sale are basic and slightly higher fare than you'd pay for them back at home, but that's normal for someplace & somewhere like this. They also have souvenir shirts at the back right of the shop. The lady behind the counter is super nice and sometimes her kids will take charge if she's unavailable. Thank you! read more

Sue is amazing. The town is lovely. The chicken fried steak is STUPID GOOD. The mashed potatoes are repeatable, over and over and over. The prime rib dinner isn't just a great date night in town, it's a great date night no matter where you land! GO. Trust us, you won't find this anywhere else and you will miss it if you don't go. And if Sue's granddaughter is serving you, tease her a bit and encourage a smile. It's slow to come, but lights up a room. read more

The women that worked here were very friendly and nice. The meals that you get are very big portions we had to share our plate. We ordered chicken fried steak which they had lots of gravy a salad and biscuits. We even had a container to bring food with us since we couldn't eat it all. The atmosphere was pretty nice. They had tables inside. some tables were for two or four people and some were as large as eight seats so you could share your table with somebody that came in off the road. The prices of the snacks were pretty reasonable and they had bathrooms that were clean. There is a gas station here. We filled it up with gas. The price was 359 which was pretty reasonable compared to the other places in town. The name is either cowboy corner or independent. It's on the way into Badlands and it is worth a stop for snacks and goodies or just a big meal!! read more

You know what's cool about a place called "Cowboy Corner"? It's frequented by real cowboys. Smack dab in the middle of the South Dakota Badlands, there's nothing around for miles and miles except for the Badlands National Park. I didn't go in there so I don't know. Stopped here because of the gas pumps. Haven't seen these types of pumps for years with the rolling numbers with the 1/10 wheel. Kids would freak out if they saw these. Also, you pump first then you pay. Didn't know they served food here. Didn't pay attention. Wasn't hungry but would've ate just for the experience. This is exactly the kind of places I like to see when road tripping and it made my afternoon that I got to see real, authentic cowboys. read more

Gas station and convenience store in the tiny town of Interior located in the Badlands National Park. We were looking for a spot for breakfast and the woman working here said they don't serve breakfast, but they had some biscuits and gravy she could warm up for us, which were great! Theres not many choices when you're looking to eat out while visiting Badlands National Park. We were tenting in the campground where fires are prohibited so we could not cook for ourselves. The Cowboy Corner was one of the options available to us so we took a chance. And we are glad we did. We ate dinner there on a Saturday night. Its a 2 booth/2 table restaurant inside a gas station. And they only serve one dish for dinner. But don't let that fool you. The food was extreamly tasty(prime rib, baked potato, biscuit and gravy). The wait staff (the owners granddaughter) was very sweet, prompt, and polite. I would have given 5 stars but there were flies in the earing area b so I had to defect for that. But all in all an excellent choice. read more

A great place to eat with good food and portions. Had chicken fried steak friday evening and it covered the dinner plate with two scoops of mashed potatoes & gravy under it .. also a dinner salad and a roll. One will feed two! On Saturday evening, had prime rib, equally delicious and nice portions so very pleased. HONEST OWNER as wife left her purse and when returned, it was safely behind the counter. I find it hard to believe I'm the first to write a review about this place, which seems to be a favorite with the few locals (Interior's population is 67) and the park rangers from Badlands National Park and lots of others just passing through. Cowboy Corner is a gas station/convenience store/diner and they serve prime rib on Saturday nights. We were told to go early to beat the rush. So, on Saturday night we stopped in around 5:00pm and were promptly greeted by two very kind ladies who asked if we were going to order prime rib dinners. We ordered four dinners to go. Sure enough, minutes after we ordered, the place started to quickly fill up with a couple of park rangers, some locals, and many folks visiting the park. We took our dinners back to the Circle View Ranch, where we were staying, and were overwhelmed by the portions we received (there were four of us, but enough food for eight!). The meat was cooked exactly as ordered. Each meal included a salad, baked potato, and a coffee-sized styrofoam cup of delicious au jus. The potato comes with real butter (no margarine here!) and the salad consists of half a head of iceberg lettuce served with homemade ranch dressing (very tasty). Simple, tasty meal that left us all very satisfied. If you're in the area on a Saturday night, don't pass this place up. read more
