We were just passing through and found this restaurant and were thoroughly delighted with both the Cuisine and the service. Their skillet special was delicious. The waitress was warm, friendly and attentive. We had a great meal and got in and out of there in short order. read more

I feel like they were sold since the last time I was there. Not as good as it was before.

I came here with friends. I got the tom kha soup. For me, it needed a lot more lime in it. It took a long time for our food to arrive, and they seemed understaffed. Regardless, the food was pretty good for everyone. I would come back to try other things on the menu. read more

From out of town and was in the mood for Pho. This was a great choice very friendly staff, quick service, and great Pho.

Stopped by on a whim and I'm so glad we did! My bf and I were passing through and ordered the shaking beef since so many of yall were raving about it. It is a large portion and comes out sizzlin' on an iron skillet and served with a side of veggies & rice. The vegetables were super fresh and they steam the veggies perfectly. I must say it is one of the best shaking beefs I've had in FL. The meat was cooked tenderly with good cuts and the flavors were on point. The sauce of the shaking beef was so good that we ended up dumping the rice and veggies in to soak it all up. The manager/staff explained to me that they put a lot of effort into that dish and it's a complicated sauce. Where most restaurants use hoisin and oyster sauce, they use 15 different ingredients. We would have loved to try their fresh rolls but they were all out. Judging by their pictures it looks delicious! It is a smaller restaurant with slightly squished seating. Service was excellent and fast. Will definitely be dreaming about their shaking beef when I'm craving some again. read more

We went there strictly for the pho as we had tried some other dishes to go. We got the regular beef pho and grilled pork pho. First of all, the broth for both was incredible. Super rich flavored, well balanced, one of the best broths I've had, didn't even want to add any of the sauces or lime. The portion was huge, with plenty of meat for both types of pho. The service was very quick, both to get seated and for the food to arrive after ordering. And lastly, one thing that really stood out to me is that they had a very mild background music playing instead of the typical pop radio. That to me made the difference and I could enjoy my meal A LOT more than in other restaurants. I'm glad we decided to dine in. Will be going again soon. read more

I have heard good things about this place, so I knew I would be trying it eventually! They have a very easy way to order online. Go to their Yelp site and choose delivery or pickup. You can choose your food and drinks, leave a tip, and they will generate a timeline for tou to onow when your food is ready! HOW EASY IS THAT!!! I ordeeed Pad Thai chicken and Thai tea! Both were excellent. I drove up to the front of the reataurant and stood by the front gate. (You can't go inside) Someone came to the door right away, I told him my order amd it was in my hands in about 45 seconds! Wow! O immediately noticed how heavy my bag was, when he handed it to me. "Two meals" is what came to mind. The taste was transporting and it was hot, hir...YES! It was even still hot by the time I got home and got mu chopsticks out! So yummy! Gotta go back, for aure! read more

Red Rice Kitchen - Summer Tofu Fresh Rolls (Vegan) AMAZING - Vietnamese Near Me - Gainesville, Florida

Hands down, this place has the best pho in Gainesville! I love the presentation of the pho in the hot stone pot, especially because it keeps the pho warm for longer. The broth is amazing by itself and doesn't need any added sauces. They also give a generous serving of meat and noodles. The only thing I wish they could do differently is add tripe and cartilage because those are my favorite parts of pho! The only other dish I've tried before is their red rice signature dish and I've been underwhelmed. I don't think a cup of rice and a piece of chicken is worth the price (~$11). Red Rice Kitchen is a family owned restaurant, and the staff is always friendly and caring. The owner proudly tells the customers that the pho is his homemade recipe! Since it's a small restaurant, it can get crowded at peak times, so I try to avoid popular lunch and dinner times as I don't like to wait. Overall, this restaurant is a 10/10 MUST TRY if you are a pho lover! read more

I've been here a couple times years ago and remember liking everything I tried, which I believe were the fresh rolls and pad Thai. What brought me back to Red Rice years later is a recommendation from my Vietnamese friend (an avid pho lover) to try Red Rice's pho. I ordered the beef pho, and though it's probably the most expensive pho I've ever gotten in Gainesville (~$16 for the beef), the portion was very filling and yummy and came with a lot more beef slices than other pho spots would normally provide. It was served in a hot stone pot, too, adding a nice touch. To complete the meal, I ordered a Thai tea and the Vietnamese signature crispy rolls, which were both good and filling. The Thai tea actually comes in a large cup, which was more than I expected but a great deal regardless. Service was quick and efficient during my most recent visit! The staff is speedy with collecting orders, bringing food and checks out, and bussing and setting up tables. I also appreciate how clean the restaurant was when I went! Red Rice is a good Asian spot to go to, especially if you're craving Asian food but don't particularly know what you want since their menu covers a wide range of cuisines, such as Vietnamese, Korean, and Thai. read more

Red rice has outdone itself once again with the consistently great pho and chicken. If you haven't checked this place out yet, I highly recommend that you do. The chicken is so crispy and goes so well when dipped in the sauce or when eaten with the pho. The pho is delicate and refreshing with highlights on the scallions and a ginger chicken fusion soup. During this winter season, nothing beats the tasteful pho at red rice. read more

We went here with friends and weren't quite as impressed and we expected to be. The food was just okay. I was really disappointed that the only things on the menu gluten free were some of the soups. I ordered the chicken pho and was very disappointed. The chicken and noodles were okay but the broth was pretty tasteless and they added fried onions (who does this in pho) that completely changed the taste of the soup- they put in about 1/2 cup of these! This was so strange to me. My husband ordered the pad thai and enjoyed it but he definitely prefers other restaurants in town for pad thai. We had nothing to complain about the service and the restaurant is quite small but it seemed like most of the orders were takeout orders. read more

Absolutely love the thai food here! The staff is super nice with an authentic feeling environment. Wide menu of noodle and rice dishes that run about $10-$15 each. You know when you can tell people love what they do they just glow? Well that's exactly the vibe the owner gave off. My fiancé and I were headed back to Nashville from visiting our friends and we got real hungry. The food at this restaurant was FANTASTIC! Every single dish stood out. None of them fell flat. What I found great about this place was the cleanliness and the passion the owner exuded. The way he described his food and the details he told us just showed his passion and it clearly spoke volumes in the cooking from kitchen. They also own a bahn mi place down the street. I think it's called Crispy Baguette and next time we're passing through we're definitely stopping by both places! read more

This place has great traditional Thai food! I got the pad Thai and it was very good but I wish it had some more veggies mixed in. Portion was very large but it is pretty expensive. Amazing find in gator country! Used my handy Yelp app to find this place and I was intrigued by the reviews. This was some of the best Thai food that I've tasted in a long time. Sure wish they would come to Orlando but I don't think they are a chain. We decided to dine inside and pretty much had our choice of seats. I ordered a Thai tea for myself and a sweet tea for my son. The menu has a lot going on but in a good way. We started off with an order of spring rolls. For entrees I decided on Pad Thai with chicken for my son to make it simple. And I ordered the Thai Pad Ginger with chicken. Although simple, the spring rolls were cooked to perfection. I was completely speechless when I tasted my dish and blown away when I tasted the Pad Thai. Both were very very good and great portion sizes! The Thai tea was delish and my sons sweet tea tasted like it had jasmine in it and was very good also. I'm looking forward to my next visit to the area because this will definitely be one of my stops. read more

I received the wrong dish. When I got home, I expected pad Thai, but I was surprised to find just rice. Rice wasn't terrible.

In town with my uncle for a short stay at the veterans' hospital; spotted this place, which was down from our hotel, and decided to give it a try; had to call in the order for pick up - no dining in; ordered the stir fry veggies with tofu and steamed rice, along with the Thai seafood Rangoon (served with sweet chili sauce). From the very few Vietnamese restaurants in Gainesville, this spot hit every craving and as authentic as it can get. The crispy chicken exceeded my expectations, having the perfectly crisp skin and perfect juicy meat that paired very well with the fried rice. Also ordered the shaken beef and have been craving it for the longest time but can never find the right spot that execute well, this restaurant was able to provide the memories of home with the sauce and tender steak. We went right when they opened, being served by the owner, he was very engaging and friendly, giving us the best recommendations that hit all of our cravings at the moment after a long day. After another interaction, I am convinced that this restaurant requires significant improvement. I had previously given Red Rice Kitchen a valid two-star review for the lack of service and high price point of their food. The owner privately told a mutual friend about the review and requested me to remove it, simply because it looks bad on the business. This is already unprofessional; she simply worked at the restaurant and this should not be her responsibility. I understand the hard work that is needed to maintain a restaurant, and I commend the owners for that. However, I do not believe in dishonesty. In the Yelp community, reviews can be used to help businesses improve. Rather than telling customers to remove their reviews, I recommend reading through them and executing tangible solutions within the staff. read more

Red Rice Kitchen - Traditional chicken Pad Thai Noodle - Vietnamese Near Me - Gainesville, Florida

When I first heard Red Rice was opening, I was very excited to try a new Asian fusion restaurant. However, when I finally got the chance to visit, I was severely disappointed. The menu looked really good upon first glance, but when the dishes came out, the portions were way smaller than we expected. I ordered the signature royal fried rice, which I was looking forward to eating because it came with shrimp and steak. But when it came out, there were three small pieces of shrimp and an unimpressive piece of meat, while 80% of the dish was bland spinach rice and pieces of egg. I was especially upset because the dish was $14, so I expected a little more. My friends ordered other dishes like the lemongrass chicken and pineapple fried rice, and both portions were small as well. A few cucumber slices and a small pile of spring mix was placed on the dish as well for garnish, but it honestly looked like it was just thrown on there carelessly. In comparison to the prices of these dishes as well, the portions and qualities did not match up. The menu also did not clarify that the coconut sticky rice was extra; it made it seem like you could order either sticky rice or white rice without having to pay extra to go with your entree. We were only notified of the extra charge when the bill came out. (Sticky rice wasn't even worth it though, because you could barely taste the coconut flavor). In terms of environment, I understand that the venue itself has limited space, so I don't mind that the tables are a bit closer and smaller, but it was very hot in there. Even before we ordered, I was already sweating and very uncomfortable. Service was also poor as there was no clear system on which waiters took which table. We were asked for our orders multiple times by different people and we had to clarify that we were helped already. I will give them the benefit of the doubt though because they are still fairly new and it was busy. However, when we first sat down, we were promised the 15% discount that they were doing as a September deal. When they brought us the bill after, we reminded the waitress to apply the deal. She agreed, but when she came back with our cards, we were charged full price. We just let it go because it was too much of a hassle to have her re-ring us up, but as we walked out, the manager caught us to ask if we had gotten the deal. We said we hadn't, so he gave us two discount coupons for 15% off any time of the year. It was a nice gesture, but I didn't feel like the two coupons made up for the disappointing service and meal that the eight of us had experienced. Overall, I think this establishment has a lot to improve before I come back again. If these improvements are made, I think there's potential to be a great restaurant. read more

Super busy place but i'm sure that's because it's pretty new to Gainesville as well. The food prices and portion sizes were decent, but to an average american one would say that they were a bit on the smaller size. It is true that they do cross things off the menu with tape as they run out throughout the day, which may be disappointing, but that shows me that they are making things fresh and have ingredients that are not easy to just grab. I got the spicy chicken clay pot stew(?) and it was pretty decent, i was satisfied in terms of taste and level of fullness. Even though it was super busy, our waiter was attentive to us. read more

We are in town for awhile for some work at Shands. We love Southeast Asian food so seeing a combo Thai-Vietnamese was a no brainer for us. This place is great. Small family run place right off Archer. Service is great, very accommodating and will explain everything for any newbies. Food is as fresh as it gets. Owner is always there checking on every detail and really cares about your experience. I've eaten in many Thai and Vietnamese places in Tampa and this small homey place rates right up with the very best I've eaten in. So glad to have found them. I ordered takeout, so this review is not at all a review of a dine in experience. I ordered Pad Kee Mow (drunken noodles) this evening for delivery. The delivery was made in a timely manner, but that was the end of my satisfaction. The noodles are overcooked, the spice too light. Drunken noodles typically have a pretty strong basil flavor.. I am tasting cilantro. And the sweet flavor that usually balances out the spice is missing. It's a very meh dish. All the components are there, but none of the flair. read more

I decided to give this place another shot for a casual dinner. It was kind of busy when we went and we sat outside. The krab rangoons were good just like the time before. The lemongrass dish was okay - I wished there was more lemongrass. The vermicelli noodles were good with the herbs and spring rolls. A little pricey for the quality of the Vietnamese food. I am a big fan of Tom Kha soup and they have an appetizer size for about $6 or a dinner size for $15 which comes with noodles and is about triple the size of the appetizer portion so could be eaten for many meals. I also have enjoyed their fresh Vietnamese spring rolls in rice paper but they're not always available even though they're on the menu. All in all it's a good place. No lunch specials so the menu is the same for lunch and dinner. read more

My kids (in their 30's) recommended this place and I was super happy with the food. Loved the curry.
