Decided to check this restaurant finally. It has been on my list but limited parking space was what I have been using as an excuse. Anyways, tried their pho and panang curry and here are my review: Food taste: 5/5 Price: 3.5/5 Portion: 4/5 Very delicious food, bit higher price point for what you get though. Still enjoyed the food and will come back for more!

Still the best Vietnamese food in Gainesville! We are UF graduates and while visiting from CA we stopped by our beloved Red Rice. It never misses and I mean it when I say NEVER MISSES. The owners are extremely sweet and food comes out hot and fresh. Never a lack of flavor! This place saved me from being homesick with its Vietnamese cuisine and I'm happy to see it thriving!

Decided to stop by as the reviews for this place were pretty good and was craving some drunken noodles. When I arrived around 5:30pm, there was no one there and was unsure if they were open. However, I saw the table filled with to go orders which I thought was a great sign. One thing I noticed is that their menus were sticky and not wiped down. I felt a little dirty touching them as I went through the variety of Thai/Vietnamese dishes that they serve. I ordered the drunken noodles with fried tofu and the mango sticky rice which came out to $33. I was shocked by the price as I have drunken noodles and additional food items at other spots in town and have not spent nearly that much. The wait time was about 10 minutes. When I got home I did have high expectations. The drunken noodles were good. The noodles came with egg, basil, black pepper, and onions. It was not overly sweet like some drunken noodles that I have had in the past. But I really did like the fried tofu as it was perfectly cooked on the outside and chewy on the inside. They did provide a good size portion but the price of this dish was about $18 with tax. The mango sticky rice was really good, I love that the mangoes were very sweet and ripe. The creaminess of the coconut milk with the rice was the perfect balance to the fruit. I really enjoyed the dish on its own as we are heading into the summer months. I may return just for this dessert alone. However, I think there's other spots in town that offer the same dishes for a much more reasonable price with just as much, if not larger portions.

Red Rice Kitchen used to be my favorite location for pho in Gainesville. The stone pot house pho was delicious and always hot and super filling. In recent years, I've been avoiding my this place because it seems like the service size has gone down drastically and the quality of food is decreasing. I took a two year hiatus from this place to avoid disappointment, but recently came back because I wanted to see if it's any different. And to my surprise the quality is coming back to what it used to be. My pho was flavorful and hot, and full of noodles. My only complaint is that the side of bean sprouts is super skimpy at this restaurant compared to all the other vietnamese places in Gainesville. My partner tried the crispy chicken noodle soup and that was genuinely so delicious and flavorful, we were both super surprised. Mango sticky rice is a bit overpriced for what you get though. Overall I enjoyed my food and I'm happy that this place is back to pumping out good food again.

I got the drunken noodle and it was very well seasoned and they gave a good amount of chicken and egg - I couldn't stop eating it!! Our food came out pretty fast and the staff was attentive. The restaurant itself is not huge but it was a cute place.

Highly recommended Thai place, we are not disappointed! Came here around 6 before rush dinner hour, it looks small but do not let that stop you! The host / server welcome us. Immediately saw lots of Togo order ready for pick up, that is a good sign . Serves Singh beer and ample selection of local beers to choose for. Got some Crab Rangoon for appetizers, pineapple fried rice with shrimp and mine was Spicy Red Thai curry. Everything was delicious! Our server is quick and very friendly. Would love to get a chance to go back. Casual environment, by the time we are done all table are taken.

I was on the hunt for a later evening (8:30ish) weekday dinner when I stumbled upon Red Rice Kitchen. They were in the process of closing down for the evening but happily were able to accommodate a takeout order. I ordered their tofu spring rolls as well as their creamy curry with tofu and vegetables. The spring rolls were huge! They came with a peanut sauce and they were fresh and flavorful. The curry was slightly sweet and packed with carrots, zucchini, tofu, and sweet potatoes. They gave me a large serving of rice to serve it over. It was a solid dish. The service was over-the-top lovely and their space if you dine in is cute and clean. Get to it!

I ended up coming here with two of my other friends this past Sunday and had a wonderful meal! We came around 8 and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. The interior is lovely, with lots of asian themed decorations. I really loved the ambiance of the inside and thought it made for a nice meal. Their outdoor seating is also lovely as they have fairy lights and other decorations up. It isn't a huge restaurant and is has more of a casual sort of feel to it. It is kept very clean and the service was on point. Our server was very accommodating and efficient. They offer a wide variety of different Asian dishes. To start, we ordered the steamed dumplings. This included 6 steamed dumplings filled with minced chicken and vegetables, served with sweet chili sauce. These were pretty good! The chicken had good flavor and they weren't too doughy. A nice, light appetizer to start the meal off with. I will say, they were not huge and a smaller portion in my opinion. For my main, I ended up ordering the lemongrass grilled chicken with steamed white rice. You have the option of chicken, beef, pork, tofu, shrimp, etc. for your meat and one of their fried rices for the rice. I went with the chicken and regular steamed white rice. It is served with lettuce, cilantro, sesame seeds, and their house special chili fish sauce. I thought this was a very yummy dish. The chicken was cooked nicely and wasn't overly saucy or greasy. The rice had the perfect texture, pairing very well with the chicken. I appreciated the sauce that came with it and found it to add some tang, enhancing the chicken. I did order it on the side in case I didn't like it. My friends ordered the teriyaki chicken and the beef pho. They enjoyed their dishes as well. But, my one friend noted that the pho wasn't the best he'd had. Claiming the broth was a little sweet and the meat was a little tough. Overall, I would recommend checking out Red Rice Kitchen if you are craving some Asian cuisine. They have a nice variety of dishes that will satisfy just about anyone! The restaurant is super cute with lovely decorations that add to the ambiance. The service is so friendly and very efficient. I will be returning and look forward to trying more of their menu!

Two years strong, we frequent Red Rice every other week! The beef pho and the beef vermicelli are our favorites! Service is outstanding and personable. The seating is cozy and comfortable with soft music and nice wood pendant lighting. We love this place and think you will too. Tucked away on a strip of businesses and not easily seen from Archer road but easy to access and it's a gem!

Small lovely interior and a cute outdoor seating area on a small strip in Gainesville. The entire front of house handling is done by one extremely kind woman, who is a great waitress and manages to juggle a multitude of tables and people well. Food came out very quickly, roughly 3-5 minutes after ordering, and was quite good! I really enjoyed my green curry, and it was just barely spicy enough to add a small kick to the dish. My boyfriend got the garlic chicken fried rice, and it was good, but wouldn't order it again. (He prefers crispy chicken, which he thought he was getting.) Overall a great Thai fusion restaurant in Gainesville!

This was my family's first visit to Red Rice Kitchen, a quaint restaurant located in a small strip mall. We ordered the Vietnamese Yellow Creamy Coconut Curry, Thai Coconut Tom Kha, Pad Thai with Chicken, and House Special Beef Noodle Soup in Hot Stone Pot (the star of the show). Each dish was presented beautifully and tasted delicious, with rich layers of flavor. Service was excellent, and we enjoyed everything!

Thai chili Chicken Wings (6 Pcs.)

We ordered a few different dishes and we were all pleased with our selections. The chili wings were really good and so was the pho. The pho had the right amount of spice. (Very flavorful). Disappointed there weren't more gf items at this restaurant since Thai is my usual go to. Friendly waitress. Average decor

It was my first time stopping into Red Rice Kitchen. I was at that strip for another business and I was so hungry and I've been craving Thai basil fried rice. I saw it on the menu using the Yelp app and knew I had to stop in before I went to the other shop. I walked in around 2:45 and they came right to me from the back. I asked if they could have it ready by the time I was done at the other business. Absolutely!! I got it medium spicy, with the tofu. It was better than I dreamed. The spice was just right. The cook of the rice was perfect. There was enough basil to not have me looking for more of it. Definitely the best Thai basil fried rice I've ever had and a huge portion so I'll be able to enjoy the leftovers as well!!

Arriving an hour before closing time, I was pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome and seamless seating despite the quiet atmosphere. The staff made me feel like a valued guest regardless of the hour. I was seated inside, though there is an outdoor patio. However, with the lack of customers and the late hour, it felt better to sit inside this time around. The decor is pretty typical for a Thai restaurant... lots of reds and gold and the ever present dragons. The standout of the evening was undoubtedly the Tom Yum soup. It was bold, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. It alone is worth a return visit. The summer roll was decent but fell a little short of its potential. The shrimp felt sparse, and an overly generous hand with the cucumber threw off the harmony of flavors I was hoping for. My green curry hit all the right flavor notes, but the portion felt slightly unbalanced. A bit more curry to accompany the rice would have made it a truly satisfying main. Minor criticisms aside, Bangkok Square delivers a genuinely enjoyable Thai dining experience. The highs are high enough that I'll certainly be back.

We started with the wonton soup, which was visually beautiful. The broth had a rich, inviting color and the wontons themselves were excellent -- thin, delicate wrappers with a very flavorful filling. Unfortunately, the broth itself was a bit underwhelming and lacked depth. A touch of hot mustard helped bring it to life, but it needed more natural flavor on its own. The standout dish of the meal was the Mu Shu Pork. Absolutely fantastic. The portion was generous and the flavor reminded us of classic Mu Shu from WoHop in NYC's Chinatown -- high praise. The pancakes were incredibly thin, almost paper-like and nearly translucent, yet soft and perfect for wrapping. This dish alone makes us want to come back. The Bang Bang noodles were another dish that looked beautiful when served, but the flavor didn't quite match the presentation. The sauce seemed watered down and there was quite a bit of liquid in the bowl, which muted the overall taste. It felt very close to being great, just not fully there yet. Overall, this was a mixed but promising first visit. There's clearly real skill in the kitchen, and when the flavors hit, they hit well. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying more dishes -- and we'll happily update this review after our next visit.

With…read morethat being said, most places required a reservation or you had an 1.5h wait ahead of you. After a little wandering around we found liquid ginger. The line wasn't too long inside, so we decided we would try it. They were swamped and very busy still, but the staff was doing their best to accommodate everyone. We waited in a short line for maybe 15min before reaching the hostesses table. We were lucky to get seats at the sushi bar! The interior is very nice and has a nice vibe. This place is really great for nice dinners, nights out, or a good dinner. Service was definitely off that night. Our water specifically seemed to forget about the group of us since we were seated at the sushi bar. It took her 15 to get us waters and our other drinks didn't even come out until after we got out food (a considerable time later). Like I said it was busy, the sushi bar was swamped with orders, but they were working diligently to keep up with the influx of orders. Most of us ordered sushi, so we ended up waiting a considerable amount of time for our meals. My one friend ordered an entree from the kitchen and it came out within 10 minutes of her ordering it. Our sushi was served about 20-30 minutes after her dish. This is frustrating and slightly awkward as my friend felt bad eating while the rest of us didn't have any food yet. Again, this is no fault to the sushi chefs. They were working extremely hard to produce quality sushi for all the guests. My problem came with our server, Emma. She didn't check in on us at all, didn't even serve our dishes to us, and like I said, forgot to get us drinks, etc. While this was frustrating, I do not think this is a reflection of the restaurant overall. It appeared the other serves were fine keeping up with their tables. For the food, we started with the crab rangoons and steamed pork potstickers. These came out within 10 minutes of ordering and were great starters! They each included 6 pieces per order. The crab rangoons were stuffed with ample amounts of cream cheese and crab meat. They were perfectly crispy and I thought these were some of the better Rangoons I've had. The potstickers hit the spot, but weren't anything too special, pretty standard. For my sushi, I ordered the Golden Apple Roll (per our servers recommendation) and a daily special roll called the bonzai Roll. The golden apple roll included spicy crunchy salmon, Fuji apples, mango, and mango sauce. This was decent and something different but not my favorite. 5)3 flavors were super unique but there wasn't a sweetness at all oddly like I was expecting. Instead it had a distinct tart flavor to it. Different, but not my vibe. Now the bonzai roll was a hit! This roll included tuna, salmon, kani, and avocado inside, topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and mayo, then flamed & torched, and finished with eel sauce, caviar, and scallions. There was certainly a lot going on in this one, but I could really taste all the different elements. The fish was extremely fresh and just divine. I also tried some of my friend's sashimi and was blown away with the quality of the fish--just amazing. Overall, we all loved the food here and would 100% return. The quality is quite good and the fish is melt in your mouth. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their sushi and it is evident in the taste and presentation alone. Now the service was certainly more desirable. I understand it was a very busy night, but our server just appeared to forget about us. Very disappointing as it slightly spoiled our experience and was not a good first impression. Again, we all agreed that we thought it wasn't a fair assessment of the restaurants service overall. I'm hoping next time the service is better and our server can do a better job serving us and checking in on us. I'm also surprised that she never offered to compensate anything in our bill, like our drinks that took 30+ minutes to come out and were served well after we had received our food. But it's not the end of the world. I would still recommend coming here, I actually think their sushi is better than Dragon Flys, better priced, and dare I say higher quality!
