My wife and I eat out almost everyday. This is a small, but very good restaurant. Derek (the cook) was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. We would definitely go there again. The menu was simple. A bowl with the basic proteins. Add rice. Veg and sauce. Kim Chi. cucumbers and seeds are available. We had chicken bowls with steamed rice , veg: carrots, bean sprouts, spinach, mushrooms, corn and seeds. The chicken was delicious, grilled, tender and not dried out. I liked the variety of vegetables, I was very impressed by the kimchi.They do make their own, not very spicy but it had a very good flavor. I really did enjoy the pickles . The sauces were good. The sauce we had was sweet with a hint of spice. It was a good compliment for the chicken. Service was pleasant. Everything was explained. The restaurant is small but adequate. Price was very good. It is difficult to find food for 2 for $30. Upon reflection I would like a large side of the pickle and kimchi I really enjoyed them and they complimented the meal. read more

I've been looking for a quick, cheap, healthy place for the LONGEST TIME!! The pork belly was succulent and juicy and the veggies were plentiful and refreshing. The gochu sauce had a good balance of spicy and sweet (but not too sweet) and the portions are huge. Also, do NOT forget the kimchi and pickles! The worker there said both were housemade and paired so well with the bowl. Safe to say, I'll be coming back. P.S. Great food and something different from my usual Flame Broiler. Owner is a young guy who is super friendly and enjoys chatting with his customers. He will remember you after going in one time. My daughter is also a fan now after trying kimchi. I am hoping they will expand their menu in the future to offer smaller sizes. Everything about Red Pine is worth 5 stars. Every single time I have gone here to eat, I have left feeling satisfied. To start, customer service is clearly a priority. Derrick, the owner, is up front most of the time interacting with his customers and making food himself. I have come to think of him as a friend after all of our fun conversations. Just recently I came in totally hungry and worn out, and he gave me a bit extra and made an effort to lighten my mood (literally reset the tone of my day). Beyond service, his food is healthy and delicious. He uses fresh ingredients that him and his staff prep each day-- you can taste the difference. While it may seem a bit pricey at first, the portion size and quality make the food well worth it. The drink menu also has great variety; my favorites are the Vietnamese coffee and pomegranate refresher. I would say the Vietnamese coffee has a similar caffeine level to a Starbucks cold brew. Red Pine is a casual and clean place with comfortable indoor seating and ample outdoor seating. Overall it has a nice ambience and is really clean.
