Absolutely delicious food! I have tried both the pork and chicken, both are good but the pork is so yummy! The food is very obviously made fresh - comes out warm and delicious. I especially like how many veggies options there are. If you love kimchi, you have to make sure to get this on the side. It is deliciously spicy. And the perk is that it is vegan! Been coming to Red Pine Cafe for a few months and every time the food is delicious and the service is very friendly. The first time I tried their rice bowl, I was surprised at how tasty it was. I mean a rice bowl is a rice bowl, but their gochu sauce adds such nice flavor. I have been back several times, tried different combinations and have never been disappointed. Absolutely love RedPine! Their customer service is top notch and I love how customizable their bowls are! My daughter loves the chicken and I usually settle on the tofu! My daughter occasionally walks across the street to get a bite before or after practice. On one occasion I placed an order for pick up and when she got there to pay with her digital wallet the payment system crashed. She said she didn't have any cash on her and panicked not knowing what to do. The owner told her not to worry about it and to enjoy her bowl! She told me what happened and I told her I'd swing by after work and pay. Great food, and a great vibe. As for the food: Think Chipotle style ordering, but the meat is cooked fresh and the sides are more nutritious. The resulting bowl doesn't have as much of a flavor punch, but does taste healthier, so a give and take. I loved the mushroom and edamame availability, and the red pepper paste gives the dish some great heat. My whole family also absolutely loved the kimchi, and my wife really liked the asian pickles. The owner happened to be there when we went, and he was very nice to talk to. Luckily the place wasn't crowded, otherwise I would have been distracting him while he was cooking. Seems like a great guy! As for the atmosphere of the place... Honestly, it wasn't great. Not a glitzy date spot for sure, and a little dated even for modern fast food, but mom-and-pop-ish looking. I went in knowing what the place looked like before, so maybe that's why I felt like the ambiance hasn't changed much. It's still a pretty recent startup though, not even a year old, so hopefully if the place becomes a big success, it will get a little face-lift. One thing I'd like to see would be the use of paper bowls vs plastic to go along with the healthier feel of the place. Unfortunately, this is a very standard straight of the mill restaurant: the restaurant itself was clean, and the owner (I believe) was very nice. It has a very simple menu, rice, with a chose of meat, and some vegetables. And when I say some vegetables, it's a very minimal selection, one of them being mushrooms. And then top it off with some sauce. The food itself was just okay. I wouldn't say it was anything to rave about, it was just okay. Needed some work on flavoring. We just had dinner this evening for the first time at red pine café. My wife and I were very impressed with the quality of flavors of the food. Derek is the owner and main chef there. He has a very engaging personality and at only 23 years old, we were very impressed at how he's managing his restaurant. He's lived locally in Temecula his whole life, is a Great Oak high school grad, so it's nice supporting a locally grown young man and his business. It's a very simple process to order there. You choose white or brown rice, your choice of protein, different vegetables, and different seasonings. I got brown rice, chicken, and told Derek to put everything into the bowl. It comes with his homemade kimchi and pickled cucumbers. Everything was absolutely delicious and very healthy. I consider myself a kimchi connoisseur and Derek's homemade kimchi is some of the best I've ever had. Even better than my mother-in-law's homemade kimchi, I hope she doesn't see this review. The bowls are $13.50, which I thought was a very reasonable price. It was a very healthy quantity of food as well. He's been open only four months, and I hope word-of-mouth spreads to keep him in business. If you like Korean bibimbap, you'll definitely love the food at red Pine Café. read more
