Please don't come for my Millennial self ) The building is tucked behind the entrance of Hong Kong BBQ on Redwood Road, near where Southern Comfort is on Castro Valley Blvd. From the outside, it looks pretty run-down and sketchy. There's also no elevator, so you'll need to carry your little one up a flight of stairs. Keep this in mind if you're planning a party, especially if anyone in your group has ADA concerns. Entrance is $16 per child for a maximum of 2 hours, and honestly, two hours is more than enough. The space itself is small but perfect for little kids. It feels like they're exploring their own tiny town with all the pretend-play stations: an ice cream truck, spaceship, chef's kitchen, grocery store, laundromat, pet store/groomer, and pizza parlor. They do have a small reading area, but there are little to no books. The play area is padded, which is great for crawling children. I wasn't totally sure how often things are sanitized. There's a basket for toys that need extra cleaning, which made me wonder how frequently everything is actually wiped down if we're asked to set items aside ourselves. Party space is limited to the entrance/hardwood area. I was told the max is 20 adults and about 15 children, but I honestly can't imagine everyone fitting comfortably in that small space. Overall, it's a great spot for my kid to run around and get her wiggles out. She really enjoyed it and that's what matters most. read more

As the first group on site, the space was clean and tidy. Tidy and well organized spot to bring your child for imaginative play! They've got various stations, including dress up, grocery, food trucks (pizza, ice cream, donuts), vet, and doctor. Employee comes around every so often to clean up and put pieces back where they belong. $16 for 2 hours. They sell water, chips, pouches, and fruit snacks at the front. It's up some stairs on second floor of a commercial building. I honestly don't know if it's handicap accessible because I didn't notice any elevator, so getting a stroller up there might be a pain. Today we had the pleasure of attending our friends' son's birthday party at Red Panda Play Space. This is an indoor play place the set up is so fun and creative, we've never been to a kids party like this before. Instead of having an indoor playground party, the stations allow kids to use their imagination while playing at areas set up as a pretend diner, grocery store, checkout, a kitchen, bakery, grilling, etc. The kids were having so much fun that the birthday boy didn't even want to have pizza because he was stuck at the train station area the whole time. Our son loved playing with the grill area, pretending to be like his parents cooking in the kitchen and using the microwave. Once he found the blender, we couldn't get him to go during the cake cutting time. The time flew by, and all of the kids were having a blast. The fact that it's indoors means it'll be a great place to visit on a rainy day. We met the Owner, she's so nice and I highly recommend you come visit to try something new. WHEN: Sun @1:30pm This place may be tricky to find but at least there's plenty of free parking! We celebrated my nieces birthday here on a Sunday afternoon, and the package was as follows: $375 2 Hours Tables and chair setup Tablecloths, utensils, paper plates, napkins, and one juice/kid. Guests may come 30 mins before party time to set up their own decorations and stay 15mins after to take down decorations. Vicky and her staff member were present at all times, checking to see if we are okay and cleaning up where necessary. They were both friendly and so helpful! They would make sure the place is ordering, helping assist with the kids playing. This place is quite spacious with plenty to do and play! There's even a dress up area with lots of costumes and even a nail salon with nail polish that washes off easily! There's a table outside for gifts, where the gift shop is. Show aren't allowed but you can't be barefoot either, so bring socks! The only downside to this is that it's in the second floor to a pretty old building that looks like it used to be an apartment complex, converted to commercial space use. There are no elevators so plan accordingly when bringing stuff for setting up. The kids really enjoyed the place and I would say it was a successful birthday bash thanks to Red Panda. I really like this place. I can sit on a couch or table and just let my kids play. It's just a big space with various big toys. There is a train table, grocery market, kitchen, BBQ, ice cream cart, vet, and doctors office to name a few. Plenty to keep the kids busy while you catch up on stuff or simply want to watch them have fun with other kids. It has NOT been crowded the two times I have been here. I mean... you can technically bring your kids here while you work using their wifi unless you have meetings. read more

Last month I celebrated my son's birthday and he and his friends had so much fun. They all enjoyed playing with the many different toys and there was plenty of space. There are lots of different stations for kids. They do have a space capacity so you should book a spot online or call ahead to make sure you don't get turned away. The staff is very attentive and cleaned up the areas right away. The only complaint I have are the parents that neglect their kids when they're running rampant, but not the fault of the space. There is an option to pay ahead for 10 visits at a discounted price which is a good value. I'd say this is more for kids 6 and under. read more

Wonderful little play space for littles! Location is a bit tricky to find when plugging into GPS. Luckily there's signage to follow when you get to the right area of the business plaza. Keep in mind this is on the second floor so there's a flight of stairs to climb up. Nothing crazy, but just take note so you don't go expecting to lug up a stroller. Expect an easy check-in process and friendly greeting upon entry. The play space is in a large room with different play sections. There aren't any walls so no worries on blind spots. You can interact with the kiddos while they play (shoes off for everyone) or take a seat on a bench along the window, or on a few scattered chairs. There were also a couple picnic tables. Not sure if you can eat there or if it's for activities. A few of the activity centers: nail polish, vet care, doctor care, grocery store, restaurant, Barbie house, dress up. Bathroom is clean and there's a stool in there for little to reach easily. Go and enjoy! read more

To caveat, my mom took my 3 year old son here so I'm only reviewing this based on off what they both said and videos she took. Thanksgiving break means my 3 year old son doesn't have preschool so I was looking for things for him to do with my mom. I liked that this playspace was close to us, not too expensive and it seemed like it would be fun. I was a little worried that there wouldn't be enough to do since it's one big room but my 3 year old spend 2 hours here and could have stayed longer. ADMISSION - It's $15 for the child and I think you can bring up to 2 adults. If you sign the waiver online it makes things quicker. For $15, it seems pretty reasonable (although Bumblebee in Newark is the same price and much much bigger) but you can't complain for a playspace. THE SPACE - the space is one big room with tables/chairs for adults to sit in as well as for the kids to eat a snack/lunch. There is also a restroom. It's located upstairs in a plaza that kind of looks like a motel. The overall "theme" of the space is imaginative play with different little stations like a pet grooming area, grocery store, doctor's office etc. One good thing is that it wasn't too crowded (maybe 8-10 kids max) and the person who was working the front was great at cleaning up after all the kids throughout the entire time so it wasn't messy and if your kid came to a station after another kid left, you'd have all the pieces. There are tables to eat your lunch, which my son did and no issues there! Overall, definitely a great playspace if you need somewhere to bring your kids. read more

He's still a little too young for the big climbing structures of other play spaces, and loves imaginary play... so this is right up his alley. It's always clean and inviting. I especially appreciate that they have a basket for toys that may have been in someone's mouth to be sanitized! As we all know, our kids love putting things in their mouths! I came to the soft opening. The place is super cute with tons of imaginative play toys; restaurant, grocery store, dollhouse, doctor, train set and more. I love that they're open in the AM (unlike the indoor playground in CV, but they're very different spaces). I totally want to gate-keep this play space, but it's a gem to have in CV! Gotta share. We were greeted with kindness at the front desk. I noticed snacks and drinks available for purchase, which is great for forgetful and unprepared people like me. I absolutely love the no shoe rule in the play area. It keeps the space clean and feels comfortable with cushion seating. Great variety with the play stations. Sometimes, the personable employees will play with my son, which i appreciate. We've been here twice and I decided to buy a punch card for future visits. Today is their one month anniversary and we received a little gift bag with items my son has been enjoying. This place is really cute. It's definitely geared towards younger kids. It's make believe play items, many Melissa and Doug sets. I'm always looking at these online (but we don't have space for them) so it was fun to get to play with them with the kids. My kids are 1 and 5 and while they played with different toys for the most part, both were entertained. Plenty of seats for the adults throughout the room, and they have tables if you need to stop for a snack break. I took my grandchildren here 2 days ago and was very impressed! Staff member Desi was kind and welcoming. She also was constantly cleaning and restoring any area that a child had recently using. She was observant and energetic and very engaged. There was a sweet face painter there ad well who also engaged well with the kids and parents. We had a great time visiting during their grand opening. The space is clean and inviting. Thanks to very busy helpers it stays organized despite little ones trying their best to make a mess. They are located on the second floor so leave strollers at home. The entire space is geared towards imaginative play. It is a wonderful place to meet with friends, you can keep an eye on your kids from the perfect vantage point at the picnic tables or play alongside with them. Having the kids pretend to make subway sandwiches, grilling hotdogs and scooping ice-cream will keep those little customers coming. Playing vet, doctor, nurse and vet tech at the care stations while wearing pink scrubs was a big hit. Putting on the apron to run the cash register, scanning products and twisting the knob for the conveyer belt is so much fun. The store is stocked so nicely.
