We had our daughter's 9th birthday here and the kids had so much fun! They met in the beautiful foyer area for instructions and then are taken back to the "escape room" to start on a variety of fun science based puzzles. It's not like a traditional escape room where you might feel some stress and pressure to finish on time. The escape room is behind a curtain and there are helpful employees to keep the kids on track and assist when needed. And they learned actual science concepts while working! My daughter loves to learn about science, so it was so great for her. We had the cake cutting in the "party room" which is decorated with beautiful rainbow colors and beakers. All in all, the entire place is eye candy! And Ashie the owner is a draw by herself! She has her PhD in chemical engineering from Dartmouth and a passion for teaching science to kids. My 9yr old and her friends had the best time at StemChef. They worked in teams to solve clues and got the prize at the end. Ashie, the owner, is amazing and passionate about her work which the kids truly benefit from as you hear laughter, problem solving and team work. What an amazing place to celebrate with friends! We opted for the party room after for an extra 30mins which was just enough time for the kids to settle down, eat, sing happy birthday and have cupcakes without feeling rushed. Tips: -A curtain separates the experience from the party room, so you can set up while the kids play (if you chose the extra 30mins) -There's a seating area not far from the location for parents to hang out. -There isn't a restroom, so you will need to use one of the many restrooms throughout the mall. -Currently the escalator by the store going down is out of service, so plan ahead. read more

Great space and wonderfully engaging activities. Our child had their birthday party here and all the kids had a fantastic time. Really liked the STEM focus it's multiple experiments and having kids work in teams to accomplish their "escape". The location of the business can be hard to find in the mall. The place looks well taken care of, clean and very nicely decorated, it is pretty spacious and has separate areas for arriving, the activity itself and the cake afterwards. Ashie is a lovely person, she was very understanding when the birthday girl got sick the day before her party, and offered to reschedule whenever we are ready again. Parents are not allowed inside during the game, which means at least 1 hour of free time for guests parents, a nice thing for most, I would say. Had a great experience with StemChef for my son's 9th birthday. It was the easiest birthday I've hosted for my son so far. The adult hosts have plenty of time to set up the food and drinks and cake while the kids are out of the way in the escape room. The kids also had a lot of fun. My son said it was his best birthday party ever (but then he says that after all his birthday parties till date ) Ashie was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. All the girls in our group had a wonderful time and the escape room game was the perfect fun challenge for our group of 8-9 year old girls. we could hear them laughing and strategizing as they tried to solve the puzzles for an hour! My daughter has been wanting to do an escape room for some time now, but we knew most of the ones in the area are geared towards adults, and would be far too difficult. For her 10th birthday she insisted on doing an escape room, and that's when we found StemChef! The experience of booking was very easy and the owner was very responsive. We initially booked the party room as well, but when our plans changes she was understanding and accommodating. The day of was fantastic! We were greeted by the owner who explained how it would work, and stayed with them throughout the party to ensure they were working together and were on track. I really liked the idea for kids that no matter what, they were there to solve the puzzle with the challenge being to do it against the times of other teams who have previously gone vs. a clock that runs out. Stem Chef is such a great, challenging, fun time with friends! There is nothing like it around and we have visited it three times in the last six months. My seven year old has been excited every single time and he won't stop talking about it for days. It is such a unique and fun idea for a birthday party.
