After I was kicked out, they refused to refund my membership fee and locker fee, but continued to charge me monthly rent and locker fees until I updated my credit card. And they refused to accept all of my emails, even though they were very important to me.

I only spent one night at Hacker Dojo but like all great flings, it was a little chaotic, totally…read moreunexpected, and weirdly inspiring. This place isn't "polished." It's more like... gritty startup garage meets community brainstorm bunker. But that's the charm. No one here is pretending to be something they're not they're just building cool stuff. By the end of the night, I hadn't built the next unicorn startup, but I did leave thinking, "Yep glad I got that month membership"

This review is for a summer camp, for younger kids. I was really disappointed given the high price…read morepoint for the camp (it was more expensive than any other camp we did this whole summer). It was supposed to start at 9:30am, but they sometimes took the kids back a whole 30 minutes late. Given again how much we're paying, this makes no sense. Also was super disappointed that they would play multiple movies each day in the background while the kids were working. It's not necessary at all, and some of the movies my son described weren't appropriate. We wouldn't do this camp again.

I took a blacksmithing class on a Saturday morning. The location for the class is in their hot shop…read morein the back. Entrance is off of Julian vs the Alameda for the rest of the studios. Area was clean and spacious and we had 4-5 hrs of safety talk, demos, and making our own knife from a piece of steel. The instructor was great and if we needed help he'll provide it and overall had a good time. They did provide water but if you want to you can bring your own beverages and a snack since it's from 10am to 2pm. Had a great time and hope to come back for more classes!

The space is fairly large with common areas and dedicated studios with installations throughout. We spoke with Jamal, Tim, & more in the casual & fun atmosphere with wine, cheese/crackers, & music. This isn't a stuffy nor snobby place... everyone was super friendly & down to earth with no egos or anyone needing to be a center of attention. I'm even more encourage to take a blacksith or stained glass class here now and parking seems to be plentiful on the street or back lot even on a Saturday night. Sign up for the newsletter & they'll send info about upcoming classes of all types and future open houses. It's a fun time if you like creative people & a fun evening.

Some industrious local teens came up with the idea of a public maker space for teenagers to build…read morecool stuff and generally get into the good kind of trouble (you know, playing with science rather than drugs and such). They lobbied the city for this dedicated space, raised some funds for the equipment and now here it is. We dropped in today because my 12 year old is making a longboard and wanted to use some power tools. There are several super courteous and helpful high school guys here helping him out. One of the guys even built his own longboard recently. I have a feeling we will be back here again soon...
