Water aerobics are in the early morning and other lanes can get crowded at that time as well. But the lanes are wide so doubling is not usually a problem.

These 2 teachers also spend much of their work gossiping and neglecting the kids. My daughter actually heard them say they "didn't like that kid , referring to her. They also don't inform parents if their child gets physically hurt or is crying on their shift. Deplorable-if you don't love and accept children the way they are, and try to make them thrive instead of putting them down, then do us all a favor and don't become a teacher. I will never leave any of my kids there again.

Every day he comes home engaged, energized, happily talking about his day and everything he learned. He absolutely loves Genius and his teachers there and we love that they help him with his homework and work with us to help him in some of the areas that are a little harder for him at school. The staff is professional, considerate, personable and responsive. So when our spot finally opened at ESS (after a year on the waiting list) we opted to keep him part-time in Genius. My only ask of them would be to consider a before school care at this location. I've spoken with other parents that have wanted to send their children here but that's a barrier for them.

First, the coaches are skillful and caring. Not only their priority is always safety, but also encouraging riders to properly care for the horses. They pay attention to each individual rider's skill and help them progress. This sport is physically and mentally challenging. My girls have had their struggles, but the coaches have been patient, guiding them through, and gone above and beyond to help them succeed. My girls have grown their confidence and learned their ways to cope and push through their challenges. I truly appreciate and respect them. Thanks to Sam, Barbara, Dacota, Nikki, Shannon, Tiffany, Heather, Rena, and Terri! Second, HZE has different levels of horses that fit the riders' skill, from a beginner to advanced rider who want to lease or own a horse. The horses are in good care and Sam is very knowledgeable and attentive when it comes to horses' well being. They also have IEA team, and are very experience at horse shows. Last, but not least, HZE has a very friendly and relaxed environment. My girls enjoy spending time with their friends at the barn and help out with what they can. Advanced riders are always willing to help, so are their parents. They have flexible schedule, no weekly fixed schedule required, and very accommodating to reasonable changes.

I rode with Tajma, who was taller than my head when we stood next to each other. Coach Heather did an amazing job reassuring me when mounting and dismounting. The introductory lesson included turning, stopping, going, posturing, and various balancing exercises. By the end of the hour, I was already comfortable on horseback. It would be ideal to extend the actual horseback training to an hour, with prep and cleanup being additional time. However, I understand that this could be strenuous for the animals.

Also, the instructors ALWAYS look unhappy and have a sullen attitude. They don't make any effort to discipline misbehaving students either. When I inquired with Kazio about their ability/willingness to work with neurodivergent kids, I was told it was definitely an option; my daughter just needed to be evaluated to see if she would benefit from a private lesson or could do a group lesson. During the evaluation, I thought for sure my daughter would need a private lesson; NOPE I was SUPER excited because it meant the coaches are really willing/able to work with a neurodivergent kiddo AND my daughter could be with her peers. All of the coaches here are fantastic! My daughter really loves coach Malik and coach Madison; they are great with her, ESPECIALLY Madison! Madison is patient, encouraging, understanding and helps my daughter believe in herself. Although my daughter hasn't progressed like many neurotypical kiddos her age, she has made progress her way and I'm very PROUD of her! My family and I moved from Pleasanton to Livermore in April 2020 (full-blown pandemic mode). While in Pleasanton, we had our oldest son enrolled in Quarry Lane from 6mos to 5 years. If you are familiar with Quarry Lane - the standards are incredibly high - this comes into play later in my review :) Moving to Livermore and having our second son, we had to find a new childcare arrangement and we chose Kiddie Academy (having parallel qualities to Quarry Lane). I will be the first to say, I was NOT pleased with our first couple weeks - the staff was lean, we had to queue at the entrance while parents dropped off 1:1, things seemed to be unorganized and haphazard. I am VERY vocal and had no problems airing my concerns and frustration...This is where it starts to turn around... Mrs. Marquita is THE REASON I kept my boys at Kiddie Academy, she listened to me, was calm, followed up with me, was transparent about her situation (she came on in the middle of havoc/pandemic with little to no staff - and had to jump in the deep in to quickly figure out weaknesses/strengths and staff up), and she honored her word. Every. Word! Marquita is the Director - who is also supported by Mrs. Ebone, also an incredible, caring, and thoughtful resource - the staff, at least for my boys, have been GREAT. My oldest son would be excited about his summer camp and activities that KA planned - my littlest guy toddles into his classroom with arms open, smiling in the morning (always content at pick up too). They both love the energy and attention they get. As a mom, seeing and hearing that they're happy - it gives me the confidence and trust I need, to ensure I am providing the right daily care for them.

If you have an infant, steer clear from this facility. My husband and I put our (at the time 5…read moremonth old) son into their infant program and after 3.5 days we removed him due to safety concerns that I personally viewed through the camera system they have there. On day 2, I witnessed my son being placed faced down in a crib for naptime. While he was distraught and not wanting to go to sleep a woman (who to my knowledge) is not an infant teacher continued to put his arms to his side while he laid face down crying. If you know anything about infant care, then you know that is dangerous and an infant can suffocate. He was removed from the crib after a few minutes. Later that day I again witnessed him being placed face down in a crib for nap. When I picked him up that day, I brought up the issue to the infant teacher that was not in the classroom most of the day and asked that they do not continue to do that. The next morning at drop off they discussed the matter with my husband and proceeded to lie and said he rolled over on his own while sleeping. At this time my son could roll over onto his stomach, but not back over to his back. He has NEVER, even as I write this review, attempted to roll over onto his stomach in his sleep. He sleeps on his side or his back only. On Day 3, I witnessed the infant teacher that takes care of the babies during the lunch hour completely neglect my son, leaving him a floor mat screaming his head off. His face was red, his little limbs were flailing, and I know from experience that he was screaming bloody murder. He was left there for at least 10 minutes, unattended. At this time there was one other baby in the room crawling and playing independently. After some time, the teacher took a bottle over to my son to get him to eat, however he was so distraught that he didn't take the bottle. She then appeared to give up and got up and left him there to continue crying, while then deciding to attend to the other infant that was playing independently. He came home that day with damaged vocal cords, which I can assume was from being left unattended for 20 minutes. On day 4, I witnessed the lunch hour infant teacher once again neglecting my son. While my son screamed bloody murder for 20 minutes, the infant teacher prioritized cleaning up the room/ kitchen. She never once looked his way, never attempted to go over and sooth him. But she did once again attend to a happily independent infant. My husband picked him up early and he will never go back. Speaking with the Director of the facility, Sarah DeSousa, about these incidents was a complete waste of time aside from the fact that the Assistant Director, Nikki admitted to placing my son face down in the crib because "in her experience babies like to sleep on their stomachs anyway". Sarah, who was on vacation while my son attended the program for 3.5 days took absolutely zero responsibility for her staff, herself and the facility. Not only did she continue to give herself an "out" during our conversation because she was on vacation, but she stated that these incidents that we experienced never happen and will be a good teaching opportunity for her staff. I am very happy that my son's safety can provide a good teaching lesson to staff that, in my opinion, have no idea what they are doing and are actively choosing to not follow their own safe sleeping policies. Bottom line, sending your infant there (or maybe even toddler, look up their recent citations) is not safe. I unfortunately, should have not ignored the red flags prior to my son starting there. They were disorganized, lost paperwork that I spent time filling out, and did absolutely nothing in terms of helping a baby transition before their first day. Don't ignore this review, stay away from Kiddie Academy.

My kids went the summer of 2016 for the 2 week camp at Bothwell Arts Center. They were happily…read moregreeted on their first day by enthusiastic staffers, which made them very excited to start camp. They had a great experience! They learned a lot about writing a story, but also had a lot of fun and made new friends. They learned how to make a "rap", and sing a lot of songs that all had a message about writing stories. Everyday they came home and said that they had a great time! They can't wait until they get to go again next summer!

Our son has had a bad experience here.  He says that he gets a piece of paper to work off of, and…read morethe coaches come by every once in awhile and ask if it is ok, and that is about the extent of the coaching.  He has had problems with parts missing from his project as other students take things out of his bin when they can't find something.  They are usually the high demand parts, so he has a really tough time replacing them.  When he asks the coaches, they tell him to go look for the part, and he spends a good portion of the time looking for parts as they don't provide it for him.   He says when he has a question, several other smaller kids interrupt, and the coach's attention gets scattered, and they don't answer his question ultimately.   So, all in all, he is not able to make much progress week to week.  I was shocked, as the per lesson cost of this program is almost the price of private music or tennis instruction, that he would get so little attention and help.  Something so simple as the low availability of parts is something that could be managed, and there should be enough coaches to answer the kids' questions. I had asked about the competition path last summer and was told our son had to learn the basics for about a year first. When we said we would like to cancel, all of a sudden, this competition "class" was an option. I suspect that this basically operates like a daycare with legos for most, and all the actual coaching gets saved for the few kids in competition.
