I came here with my son for a special event. The place is spacious and there were a lot very unique large scale toys for children to play with along with many helpful staff members. There are many developmental toys and activities which the children had a blast exploring. The space was very clean and well organized! I saw the staff actively tidying the space, assisting with the different payment features, and engaging the children. They offer memberships, as well host private events and various therapies that are held on site. It's a one stop shop. Their memberships can be covered by the Regional Center or funded through Self Determination program, but of course, you can pay of pocket. The owner Lindsay is extremely knowledgeable and helpful! This San Ramon location is their first location, but have since expanded to two more sites in Berkeley and Belmont. They also have tables for parents to have a break or work at which is very thoughtful. When I went also had a smaller tot area as well as an inclusive, larger space for all. Overall, this is a wonderful facility that fosters inclusion and a welcome addition to the area. read more

Passionate, involved staff who are invested in child development education and practice respectful parenting practices. The environment is safe, not overstimulating and well planned out and organized based on the type of play. It offers quiet/calm corners and ample seating for adults. Snack areas are well maintained and complementary water and sink access for dishes. The staff do their best to get to know you and your children and their fees are very reasonably priced. They also offer members only events and classes which is great. We appreciate how flexible their membership structure is for daily sign ups on sessions. It's especially inclusive for us neurodivergent folk while providing a fun, safe space for all. We've been coming here since my 4 year old was 7 months old, SPL is our second home! read more

Wait, how have I NOT written a review for Spirited Play Labs? D'oh! I was introduced to this place by another mom whose child has ASD. I have twins with ASD, and trying to find a safe and inclusive place for them to play has been challenging. Enter Spirited Play Labs. This facility is so well thought out, from the quiet area to the decor to the staff working here. My kids can experience their share of challenges at times, and we've experienced judgmental comments in public from other families. Not here. There is a spirit of inclusivity and understanding, where kids do not have to conform to a certain way of play, but are encouraged to explore. The staff are all incredibly patient and knowledgeable, and it shows. The facility is also well stocked with a separate area for eating, slippers for the bathrooms, etc. And as a parent of recently potty trained twins, I REALLY appreciate how well stocked the bathrooms are, from the stools to the changing tables to the changing mat for the floor to the potty on the floor and the smaller potty seat. It sounds like a lot but there are times when I've come here on my own with the twins, and having these options help. The mat was especially helpful before my kids were potty trained...those Koala Kare changing tables may work for an infant, but not for a 3 ft toddler. Thank you SPL for all that you do! Took some passes during the thanksgiving sale to finally try out this place. It's a cute space for kids to play with some really good quality toys and play structures. I was impressed they had the quadro company structures because very few people know about this brand so I was sure the owner has done their research and they are bringing forth some quality options in the area for indoor play instead of the usual bounce houses and ball pits. The space is a little small for how many activities have been planned and the classes. It gets crowded sometimes and there's no age limit for some toys whichI feel like impacts the tiny babies and toddlers who are around too. For example my 2 yr old wanted to be in that quiet room but being a 2 yr old he just took on space and played with some toys while a girl (probably 7-8yr) walked in and sat there only to close the door for herself the moment by kid walked out to get his toy. Same thing happened at the other play section where these girls were bouncing on the stuff and not careful about tiny kids in the same area too so this could injure them and could end up being a really messy day for toddlers. I hope they think about those things otherwise this place is great to meet other new toddler moms and have these covid babies meet each other read more

I can't say enough good things about Spirited Play Labs. My energetic, strong willed toddler is in the pre-K-kindergarten readiness social group. More places like this need to exist! The staff is patient, kind and does an amazing job making Spirited Play Labs an inclusive environment. My friend was there already so they allowed my daughter to go play while I filled out some paperwork. Once I was done I joined my daughter in the play area. Every area was so clean. They had two separate sides, one for what seemed like pretend play and and another for larger motor activities. We went to both sides and we loved it. I love that it's a shoes off facility and they have sandals for the bathroom. I would definitely come back for my daughter to play more. I have brought my 4 year old and my 1.5 year old here several times for playdates and group events. I am extremely impressed with the quality of play items they have that support a vast area of development. I like that the open play space supports all children of all abilities and has opportunities for intentional play. I think that the play lab groups offer more accessibility to parents to have their child supported by a therapist, and more importantly, a community that embraces them just as they are. When coming here I recommend that you go in with an open heart and mind and understand that all kids are learning and play in their own ways. Another great thing about this space is that they have co working hours where a childcare staff member watches your child. They also will rent you their space to host your kiddo's birthday party, which is especially great for these winter months. Overall I am incredibly impressed. read more

We wanted a fun place for our child to run around, but everywhere we found had structured play and there is no way our toddler would be patient enough for that. Fortunately we found Spirited Play. Great space (very clean), with different sections for the kids to enjoy. I love how all children are welcome here, and there is no judgement. We have an energetic little guy and they always greet him with a big smile and hello. The owner Lyndsey is lovely and I find myself asking her for parenting advice. She is a wealth of knowledge in addition to being kind and positive. Someone you like to be around. With the low cost of membership, I imagine this business is more a labor of love. I've checked this plenty of times as I've seen it online. Went into their website and after scrolling through and perusing it, I've called them up. Since my son at that time was only a year old, I was hoping that I can get him started early as we have tried different places to get to start socializing. It took some time for us to come here but once I've signed up for the visit, I've decided to go with the membership for part time only just to be safe. After the 3rd consecutive days of visiting, I was convinced that we would need the unlimited version as I see the progress of my son liking the place. Now I'm into the 2.5 weeks of consistently coming in, may be missed a day or two but we would go here at least 3-4 times a week, I've met the owner Lindsey. Very nice lady and had a friendly chat. Now I'm recommending and asking my fb group moms near me to come and meet me for a play date so that they can take advantage of this play place and help also support local businesses like Lindsey. They keep the place very clean, you have clear boxes to put away any toys that was put in the kids' mouths for them to clean. There's a go working areas and a place where you can also feed your kids. They do have scheduled activities you can sign up with. The employees are always cheerful and helpful. If I can give them an extra 5 stars to make a 10. I would! read more

Spirited play labs is my kids' (ages 6 and 3.5) favorite place to play and explore. We've been members since they first opened and it's our most often used membership. The space is clean and there are multiple rooms to utilize depending on what your child needs. There's even a special room for calming down and/or having quiet time. The play equipment (both large and small) is thoughtfully chosen to encourage open and imaginative play. The staff, including the owner, Lindsay, are incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable about the needs of all their child clients, whether neurodivergent or neurotypical. The open play times they offer are perfect for families and they also offer parties! I can't say enough good things about SPL and I imagine my family will be members for a long time. I just held my daughter's 5th birthday party here and our group had the best time thanks to this amazingly fun, clean and inclusive space! None of us, myself included, had even heard of this place before and my only regret is not finding out about it sooner so I could have held more of my kids' past birthday parties here. The staff was so responsive and accommodating from the moment I booked a month prior. The place was so clean upon every visit and also on the day of. I have so much gratuity for this place! Not only it is an amazing place for kids to feel accepted and a place for parents to not feel judged. However, their Co-OP program that you can join for either private pay or RCEB will pay for as an early intervention program has been amazing for my youngest son. He had started there last March after being evaluated for Regional Center services for under 3 years old. He started there as a shy little boy that would always check-in with his grandma as his trusted caregiver or myself when having the ability to go with him as I am a working mother. He has been so successful in this program, mainly because the caregiver stays, and is an integrate part of this program working with the team and getting/giving feedback to support the child. I do not know what we would have done without a program like this and I hope it will continues. read more

Spirited Play Labs was a great place for my daughter and her classmates to play on a rainy morning. She's already asked us multiple times when she can go back. I appreciated how thoughtfully designed it was. There is a good amount of structures, focused play areas, and other activities, without being crowded or overly jammed with equipment. Everything is new and clean. There's some creative activities I haven't seen before that the kids loved, like the wind tube that kids can launch scarves and balls out off. There's one bigger play space and lots of smaller rooms, so kids can find the amount of crowd that they want, and there's a small quiet room where kids can go when they want to calm down a bit. read more

As a Special Needs Mom to a kiddo with Autism and Mental Illness, and the Founder and Executive Director of a Bay Area Nonprofit for Special Needs Families with brain and developmental disabilities, I was thrilled and relieved to find Spirited Play Labs! Finding services for young kids with ASD/Mental Illness has been severely limiting, even in 2015+ in the Bay Area--which was surprising! I'm grateful Sensory Gyms are becoming more and more popular, along with social skills groups, therapy centers and special needs parent support groups/resource centers. ALL of what Spirited Play Labs has to offer has been sorely lacking--I'm so glad they opened up to fill a need. Bonus: California BrainWaves and Spirited Play Labs will be hosting events together! I hope Spirited Play Labs multiplies in the Bay Area--we special needs families need more access to supports and care. read more
