We had walked by this place many times on our way to music class and finally decided to go in and boy, did I regret it. Not once during our entire visit did I see a single staff member cleaning or sanitizing. I watched children putting toys straight into their mouths while employees just stood by and watched. At other indoor playgrounds I've visited, there are always dedicated staff members actively disinfecting and keeping the space safe for kids. To make matters worse, I just discovered they feature pride books in an area for small children. It is entirely inappropriate to introduce these topics to young kids in a setting meant for basic play. The owner's justification for including them makes no sense at all. I will not be returning, and I will be warning the other mothers in my Danville mom's group about this place so they aren't caught off guard the way we were. read more

I want to respectfully correct the record: while the holiday books were indeed on a bookshelf, the Pride book and about eight others were stacked directly inside the enclosed toddler climbing structure. This specific structure has explicit signage stating 'no one over 3'5" allowed' and 'no adults allowed.' (Photo attached for reference and the book was behind the sign in the structure.) While we have absolutely no issue with the gay community, we believe strongly that parents, not a local business, should be the ones deciding how and when to introduce social concepts to their young children. Placing this material in an enclosed space where parents are expressly forbidden from entering, and where a toddler can simply grab it unguided, is an overstep of boundaries. Booking the whole place for 3 hrs was easy with the Kidplex team and they and the website provided all of the expectations needed for a successful party. Max was 100 for a comfortable party flow. Basically you bring your own food, drinks, decorations and the team helps you set up and clean up. Kids do playtime for the first 2 hrs and 15 min, then everyone eats and does happy bday song/cake in the last 45 min. I had my daughter's 3rd birthday party here and let me start by saying, this was the LEAST STRESSFUL and EASY birthday party I have ever planned!! It was AMAZING! It was very easy to book online and we rented just the private party area. I thought it was a tight squeeze to set up because they only allow you to arrive 15 min before your party time, but when I got there, the girls working helped me put all the decorations out and it was breeze! The kids had a ton of fun playing with all the different sections, and we had kids ranging from 2-5. The girls working even helped with cutting the cake and clean up after singing, so I barely lifted a finger. On top of that, the facilities seem very clean and I read that they sanitize everything pretty often. I would definitely recommend throwing parties here and would even consider renting out the whole place in the future. 10/10!! read more

First, the pretend play section has so many empty shelves - my kids had to pretend check me out at the supermarket stall with imaginary food. Second, all the pretend play canned food are broken; and I grabbed one that was wet! Third, someone put a foreign object into the ball tube, and no staff came over to check despite the object making loud noises going through the tube. The father watched the kid did it and just grabbed her and left the area. I sure hope when they open up the UFO door, that hard object didn't hit any other kid! Fourth, I really don't understand why they would put tables in the middle becuase I saw a couple of kids almost hitting their heads when using those toy cars. My kids enjoyed the ball pit, so I'm giving it 2 stars. read more

Recently attended a private birthday party at Kidplex and was pleasantly surprised with the space and overall experience. My daughter is still small and not walking yet, so I was unsure whether she would be able to participate in anything. My husband and I appreciated the thoughtfulness of the space and how it had a toddler section for really small, young kids to enjoy. Our daughter loved it and was crawling all around the area with a smile the entire time. The space, overall, also seemed clean and well maintained. We had the peace of mind to let her roam around and lead the way. The section for the older kids seemed like a lot of fun and age appropriate. Definitely plenty to do to keep the kids busy and happy. The little party nook was so cute. The small tables and chairs were the perfect touch for a birthday party. Staff were professional and helpful when needed. Kidplex is located inside the Bishop Ranch shopping center. There is ample free parking via the center's garage. Kidplex was a short distance from the elevators and easy to find. Overall, a positive and fun first time at Kidplex. We would definitely return again and look forward to bringing our daughter when she can enjoy even more of the space as she gets older. read more

This place is so cute! Great aesthetics. My husband took the kids here once before when I had to work and we came back again a few months later. Price is reasonable and similar to everywhere else. I think if you have your own sticky socks, they are okay with it. They do sell their own for $3? They even have lockers for you to put your personal items! fancy. The play space is well laid out and really utilized their space. - imagination play - plenty of kitchen, diner, doctor, salon, etc to pretend play. They have a little rack of costumes for kids to wear. -a younger kid soft area that was on the other side, it was very cute and spacious. -a super cool interactive coloring tech desk, that when finished, your image is displayed on their projector wall thing! FANCY -ball pit/slide/ball blaster area. great for older kids. there's the ball launching tube stuff and a really cool contraption that you can fill with balls and then press a button and it all falls out over your head. -there's also little push cars for the younger ones. Overall, super clean, very well maintained. So many things to do. My kids happily played there for the 1.5 hours we booked. My oldest is 6 but he's a "gentle" guy, so this place is still fun I would say for 6/7 year old. Depending on their play style haha. Pro: this place has some interesting features such as ball pit balls that suck them up through tubes, lights that change colors as you jump on them, and cannons that shoot ball pit balls. Con: The staff here didn't feel particularly friendly or efficient during our visit. 1. Check-in process: Checking in and paying was slower than expected. There were two registers open, but the birthday party check-in line wasn't used flexibly. During slower moments, the staff member handling birthday parties didn't assist guests in the general line, even when there were no party arrivals. This created some confusion for other guests, and another parent accidentally stepped into me while trying to switch lines. 2. Playtime policy: When purchasing one or two hours of play, it appears you're expected to be out before your end time, not wrap up at that time. We were approached about eight minutes before our printed end time and told we needed to leave, which was confusing since I had given my child a 10-minute heads-up based on the actual tag time. If closing early, which was the case today, our tag time should've accounted for this. The play area itself looks large from the images, but my child finished most of the main activities within the first 30 minutes, so it was difficult to stretch the visit to the full two hours. I felt bad because I invited my family to play with my kid, but was wondering if everyone would get bored. This might be a convenient place for a quick outing or for dropping off a caregiver and child while running errands, but I wouldn't visit as a standalone destination. This place is very well lit, clean and managed. We went in the weekday, probably about 8 total kids playing in this space, so my kid enjoyed being able to play with every section. They are not forcing you to buy grip socks, everytime and theirs, unlike many other places so I really appreciated that because you can just wear your own and skip buying new socks. I'm always excited when a new indoor playground opens nearby, so when I heard about this one, my family and I headed there first thing on Sunday when it opened at 10am. We got there right at opening, but there was already a small line, and the front area was pretty crowded, even with stroller parking outside. They have a tablet where you can sign a waiver, but I highly recommend doing that ahead of time to save time. I didn't get my husband's waiver done, and they had to ask me to step aside while they took care of everyone else in line. I wish there was more verbiage on the website about signing a waiver beforehand, even if its a recommendation. The customer service wasn't as friendly or welcoming as I'd hoped, especially right at opening. I get that things can get rushed later in the day, but it felt a bit off from the start. I ended up waiting in line again with two kids, which wasn't the most fun experience. The playground itself had a good mix of gym-style play stations, pretend play areas, and even a space for private parties. However, I wish the layout was a bit better organized. It got packed quickly and it was a bit overwhelming with so many kids and parents in the same space. There were small cars for kids to ride around, but no real space for them to move, since tables for parents were set up in the middle of everything. It felt like they kept letting more people in without a cap, which made it feel cramped. If there was a limit, it definitely wasn't set at a number that allowed both parents and kids to enjoy the space comfortably. There was definitely a lot for the kids to do, but it wasn't the most comfortable space for parents to hang out. I don't normally review places out of the food/restaurant realm, but I had to for this Kidplex. First off, this place is excellent for families. Located on the 2nd floor of the shopping center, this complex holds all sorts of kid-friendly activities from playing with blocks and legos, digital table art and games, slides, multiple ball pits, mini kitchen sets with fake cooking ware, grocery, foods, etc. This place has most items a toddler would want. I like the security stop for signed waiver forms, in-house instructions such as socks only, etc. They even have bracelets that open lockers for shoes and little items to leave in. They have bathrooms and some table for the adults to sit/work while the kids play. They even offer birthday parties for kids, so they provide plastic plates, bowls, utensils, etc. along with the table and chairs for kids. Anyone can rent out the place for an hour or two for the party. This is convenient for families and there's multiple eateries to choose from on the 1st floor whenever someone gets hungry. There is even a spacious family bathroom with a diaper station as well! We like this place a lot and will definitely come back again. read more

My grandson comes to Bishop Ranch with his mom frequently and I went there with them today and my grandson wanted to go upstairs on the elevator and so we discovered the Kidplex located near Music Together and the tutu place. My grandson loved all the play areas, the kitchen, the pizza stall, the ice cream stall, the ball areas, the slides, the grocery store that he just didn't want to leave. So his mom bought a membership as this place is great for indoor play when the weather is cold or hot! Best times to come is probably on a weekday when the shopping center isn't so busy. Been here a few times. It is an interesting and cute little indoors play place. Overall, it's a decent place but took 2 stars away in hopes of the owners making changes. 1) It was so crowded today, almost no space for little ones to play. Very small area, maybe they should get rid of those bunch of tables and chairs thats on the way, for already a small space. Maybe have just one or two if parents need to feed their kiddos but the rest are taking up all the space and not really utilized. 2) Honestly, it was NOT clean. I see the staff somewhat wiping the toys. But the place is clearly not dusted at the obvious, visible, easily cleanable areas. Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations, and I probably would not return. We purchased a day pass today with friends, and our admission was limited to a three-hour time slot. We were told this was a mistake, but it was pretty confusing after paying for a whole days admission. I was also surprised by the lack of cleanliness throughout the day. Toys were often left scattered around, and staff made a few unprofessional comments about guests within earshot. There are lots of similar indoor play centers throughout the Bay Area. This was the first I went to which didn't maintain cleanliness standards or have staff tidy up in between. read more

I came here to attend a birthday party. This is an indoor play area in Bishop Ranch City Center located on the 2nd floor. I have walked by this place multiple times and wondered how it would be like. I think this replaced the old indoor kid gym that used to be here. There's little lockers in the front where you can put your shoes/belongings. Socks only - no shoes inside the play area. There's two bathrooms and very kid friendly, bathroom slippers are provided. There are some tables/chairs that allow families/adults to hang around. In terms of the play area, there's a ball pit area that's a lot of fun. There's also this "shooting" device that allows the children to shoot the balls, my kiddo enjoyed this so much. There's also some interactive screen time which is very neat. The kids can draw/color on the images and once they're done, they can submit the image into their virtual fish tank. So if they look up, they can see what they colored. There's some play kitchens and other imaginative play items that my 3 year old enjoyed. There's also a section for smaller children with foam climbing structure. We didn't explore that as much as my kids are older and was more interested in the other stuff. For the birthday party, there's a small section near the front (so near one of the doors/windows) where they can set up a table and have the party. I would say it's good for a small/medium size party but if someone is throwing a party for 30+ people, then this place might be a little tight (I am also not sure if they can even accommodate 30+ people). Overall, this is a good play area for little kids. It's not overly big (like Luv 2 Play) but not overly small either. read more

This place is undeniably creative and fun. My kiddo absolutely loves it here, and I can see why. The play areas are imaginative and engaging, and when things are running smoothly, it's a great spot for younger kids to explore and burn off energy. Other reviews are spot on, though. The lines can get long, it feels overcrowded pretty quickly, and the staff doesn't seem particularly engaged (at all). None of that is ideal, but honestly, I can look past those things. My biggest concern is the age range. During our visit this morning, there were several older kids (around 10-12 years old) tearing through the play areas, running up slides clearly marked not to do so, and pushing past both adults and younger children. I watched two babies get knocked over, tears and all. While I believe parents should absolutely manage their kids' behavior, the age gap itself feels like the core issue. Having toddlers and babies in the same play area doesn't feel safe. I understand the challenge: families with younger kids and older siblings want a place everyone can enjoy, and birthday parties often include mixed ages. But the reality is that older kids are naturally more rambunctious, and there's nothing wrong with that. This space just isn't designed for them. Ultimately, it feels like an accident waiting to happen. We had my son's 4th birthday party here today and it was awesome! The staff was very helpful in helping me set up and decorate. They put up the banners and did the tablecloths, which I was not expecting but very impressed. All our guests loved the place and had an amazing time. We had some slightly older siblings that also seemed to be enjoying everything also. We did the 2 hour party but I wish we did the private party for longer. There was a random kid that wandered into the party area and also an elderly woman and a baby that was not part of our party. They have a cart for the presents, but I would suggest offering a cart to bring in the decor & cake as we had to make a few trips. We had such a great time at the venue, perhaps we can repeat for next year! read more

What a cool place to take kiddos! City Center Bishop Ranch is already super kid-friendly with a giant astroturf play area on the first floor, but Kidplex is a great addition! Located on the second floor, they're currently in their soft opening phase and are open from 10AM-3PM every day. It's $14/child for an hour of play, $24 for 2 hours, or $34 for all day; $4 for adults; free for babies under 12 months if you're with a paying child. They also offer memberships for $140/month for a child that includes 2 paid adults. Grippy socks are required and sold for $2/pair, but they're currently giving them out as part of their soft opening. When you arrive, you need to sign a waiver on your phone via QR code or their laptop. You can also do so beforehand on their website to save a few minutes if needed. Once signed, you pay your fees, and they give you a bracelet key for a locker to put your belongings/shoes in. Strollers can be parked behind the lockers. About 3/4 of the space is open right now with the remaining fourth still being finished (possibly prepped for parties?). But even so, there was no shortage of activities to do. There are a bunch of pretend play stations, dress up costumes, climbing gym & slide, interactive tablet coloring/creating, building blocks, and ball pits! My 2-year-old spent her entire hour of time in the ball pit, putting balls through the wind tunnels and playing around with the different pulleys and wheels. I love that this ball pit is more than just a ball pit -- there were plenty of chances for my toddler to explore cause and effect and play around. We were never concerned about cleanliness. The staff is constantly monitoring and cleaning the play areas and bathrooms. I hope they continue to keep that going as more kids visit. Loved it! Awesome location and well kept facility. We came on the weekend and were able to get in no problem even with busy birthday parties going on. I followed the Yelp advice to signed the waivers ahead of time to save time at the front desk. The entrance gets a little crowded with the kids, shoes, and strollers, but it's nothing new to parents haha. I love that they have a good variety of activities. They made good use of the space. They have the ball pit, dress up, pretend play, the big slide, spinning, climbing, toddler space, etc. I also love the neutral colors. You won't get over stimulated by bold rainbow colors. There's tables and chairs inside for sitting and chatting. There's bathrooms inside and they have slippers you can put on, which is a nice touch. We parked our stroller outside and had no problems. The windows are huge so you can easily keep an eye on your stuff and you can easily pop in and out once you've signed in. read more

I've been here twice with my preschooler. We live in San Jose so it's a bit of a drive, but this play area / City Center in general is super family friendly and nice, so we've met up with friends for playdates here. The good: nice ball pit and there's like three areas (one mini ball pit in the small kid area, another medium-sized one next to the bigger ball pit). Lots of pretend play. Some pretty cool activities like you can draw something and it'll show up on the screen. The not great: can get really crowded, especially since it's a pretty small space. From the reviews, I think they limit the number of people at some point. The tubes in the ball pit seem to break somewhat often. My friend has gone there a number of times and said the main tube (shoots balls up into the ceiling where you can then press the ball drop to have them fall out) was broken last time she went, and today the other tubes were broken so my son was disappointed. I guess these things happen since they get so much use, I'm sure. I'm actually most annoyed, and was going to rate this place lower but feel like it's not fair lol, because both times I've gone, the waiver I filled out online for me + my son + my husband doesn't work. As stated, I filled out the waiver online in advance, and the first time I went, they couldn't find our names or phone numbers in the system but when I showed them my phone with the signed waivers they let us in after paying. This time they still couldn't find us and I started to sign in on the computer there but the form annoyed me because it was so long (who cares what MY birthday is lol) and it was hard to navigate in selecting all the various dates. They eventually found me and my son in the system when they "searched another way" or something, but then couldn't find my husband and it was a whole other ordeal. And yes, I checked my emails and I filled out the waivers for all three of us! I guess it's not a huge deal but I felt very upset because my son was getting impatient wanting to go in and it was so crowded and I didn't understand why they can never find us. Actually, this annoyance is enough to make me not want to come back, lol, but the two families I've gone with haven't had issues with their waivers, so it seems like it's only specific to me. read more

This play center is absolutely amazing! As soon as you step into the space, you can tell that there was a lot of thought, care, and love put into the space. It's bright and beautiful and I love the attention to detail that went into the facility's functionality and design - there's ample seating for parents, an open layout that allows you to move around the space comfortably and see your kiddos having fun, and unique/engaging activity stations that are set up in a way that they don't get too crowded. Also, I was blown away by the cleanliness of the space!! Great ventilation, slippers for the bathrooms, and both kids and adults are required to wear socks (no shoes) in the play area. At 3 there were still people lingering so I had to ask the girls working to ask everyone to leave. Super weird start. The girls working the party were great, but seemed inexperienced. They set up the decor, but when it came time for cupcakes everything was a bit awkward so I just took over handing out the cupcakes and drinks. We took our daughter to Kidplex on a Saturday afternoon and she had the best time! We were there for 3 hours and she didn't want to leave! Kidplex is a new addition to San Ramon's City Center (located on the second floor, next to Sandbox VR). The space is bright and new and well designed. They have several interactive games and displays that we haven't seen at other kid play spaces before (and we've been to many in the Bay Area). There's a huge ball pit with ball drop, a large slide, ball cannons with projector game, climb structures, pretend play/dress up area, and even a space to host birthday parties. The staff is really nice and friendly as well. Since we were at City Center, afterwards we had dinner and did a bit of shopping. All in all a great day for the entire family! read more
