They walked in with beautiful smiles. My 3-year-old left with both of his front teeth severely damaged. He was climbing on the volcano play structure, where multiple other children had also been climbing for some time. There were NO signs saying children could not climb on it, and no staff stopping or redirecting the kids. Instead, the staff nearby were socializing and talking rather than actively monitoring the play area. The volcano structure shoots out plastic balls, and the force of the balls struck him directly in the mouth. One of his front teeth was knocked out on impact and, to this day, is somewhere in that ball pit. So if you find a tooth while there, it's my sons. His other front tooth was also severely damaged. After 3 months of appointments with pediatric dental specialists trying to save it, he is now scheduled for surgery under general anesthesia to have it removed. We were also told there could be damage to his developing adult teeth, but we won't know the extent until they grow in over the next 3-4 years. As a parent, it is heartbreaking knowing that a day meant to be fun has turned into months of dental appointments, procedures, and now surgery for my 3-year-old. What is especially upsetting is that this accident was preventable. A structure that children can climb on needs appropriate safety measures, clear warnings, and active supervision. On top of that, after I spoke with the owner following the accident, she has never once called or checked in to see how my son is doing or what they could do to help. Their response and overall lack of care have been incredibly disappointing. I sincerely hope no other child or family has to go through what we have, so I'm posting this as a fair warning to other parents.

All in all, the entire place is eye candy! And Ashie the owner is a draw by herself! She has her PhD in chemical engineering from Dartmouth and a passion for teaching science to kids. There's a kids table with magna-tiles at the front, so the little ones were kept busy the entire time. Parents and littles can eat first while kids are in the class. It makes the birthday less hectic. At the end, we forgot our lighter for the birthday candle, but Aman saved the day. My daughter had such a wonderful 5th birthday, and the photos staged in the gym area at the end really just topped things off. The instructors are very gentle and have such great patience with the kids. My child was traumatized from a gymnastics coach who had too much of a militaristic style. She's still in the process of finding her confidence, but she's thriving.

A couple of suggestions. Read the rules. It is clear that outside food or drink are not allowed. Neither are street clothes, as they are a safety hazard in public or shared pools. If people sneak stuff in without the staff knowing, then that is on them. I have seen people be asked to leave for sneaking alcohol in. I have never seen the staff there demand anyone throw anything away. They offer to let you walk it back to your car. Again, had you read the rules, you would have known this. In order to keep facilities like these affordable, the rules must be enforced. The insurance rates will sky rocket when there are claims because someone got hurt by a drunk patron. I used to work in Government, and this is the case with all facilities. Also, the wave has a lot of young people working there in their first job. They are learning how to work and be adults, show them some kindness. Lastly, please take an English class. As a Hispanic, I have worked hard to overcome people's negative viewpoints about us being uneducated and ignorant. Your review doesn't help in that regard.
