We installed new vinyl plank flooring 4 years ago using the flooring installers hired by our general contractor. Unfortunately, these guys did not know what they were doing so our floors became warped and cracked in multiple locations and need to be replaced. Our general contractor has since gone out of business so we had to address the problem ourselves. We decided to replace all of the existing flooring with brand new CORETec flooring. This time around I did lots of research and interviewed lots of installers, who all agreed that our original installers did a terrible job. Because we did not want to repeat our mistake, I was very careful in choosing our installer this time around. Viktor from Red Machine Flooring was super detail-oriented when he came out to look at our existing floors and gave me his quote. He brought out a laser machine that showed all of the uneven places in our existing flooring. Their quote was not the cheapest, but it was fair and transparent. Given their perfect 5.0 star reviews, we decided to hire them. Lalo (Eduardo) was the installer who worked on our floors. He is detail oriented, hard working (working from 8am to 6:30 six days-a-week), and knows his stuff. Lalo clearly takes great pride in his work and is also super nice and just a great guy all around. Most of the work was spent leveling our uneven floors before he installed our new CORETec vinyl planks. We are super happy with our new floor. They are quiet, feel solid, and look beautiful. Highly recommend Viktor and Andrew and his team for your flooring installation. We interviewed 5 different people for the job, and it was an easy decision for us to pick him. I didn't go with the cheapest quote, but his rate was very fair and competitive, and I felt he would do the best job. After all, flooring is very important and I wanted it done properly the first time. He arrived very prepared to check the level of the floors and he measured the square footage. I noticed he was more prepared and thorough than the others during the initial meeting. I also felt more comfortable with my interactions with him compared to the others. His approach was more positive and can-do attitude, which is important because no job is going to be totally easy...versus one guy I interviewed put the burden on me if they come across a problem during the install. In addition, Viktor was always very responsive over text and email and his quote was thoroughly done with a map of the space and highlighted areas where he felt needed more attention. He also had to push my flooring job a few weeks later for my benefit (which would be harder for him) and it was a good thing we did that. He suggested we have all of our lighting and electricals completed beforehand to minimize the risk of contractors dropping things and damaging our floors. Our floors are 10" wide planks which is recommended to do glue and nail down. They spent about 3 days preparing the subfloor (cleaning, screwing down, and using self leveling concrete). The installation took 3 full days with a crew of 7 for about 2,800 square feet. They also had to trim the bottom of our solid doors which are very heavy. I would give my highest possible recommendation for Victor and his team. They helped me and my wife through the entire process of planning, selecting, and installing new hardwood floors for our house. Their workmanship is extremely high - even our GC commented on how thorough they are! His prices are also extremely fair and competitive. When another flooring installer came to give us a quote, he simply measured with a tape measure for 10 minutes. Victor, on the other hand, came in with his laser levels and laser measuring tools, and spent over an hour to get precise measurements. As he walked through our house, he would stop me to point out where the carpet was uneven, and how it would require leveling compound. Victor also took us to a hardwood floor shop and educated us on various options. He steered us away from some cheaper options, letting us know that his clients had failed installations with certain brands, where his client paid him to install those brands' floors, then paid him to rip them up, and reinstall different floors! Viktor took his time with us and helped us decide between hardwood, engineered wood and LVP. We have a small child and a dog. We walked out of a San Jose / Morgan Hill flooring shop with some samples including one we fell in love with - which was a UV oiled. Viktor let us know the pros and cons of uv oil, including maintenance + fading, and with a small child and dog we decided to go with lacquer engineered. Flooring store told us we'd have to wait 3 months. Viktor was able to find and deliver same material in half the time for a bit cheaper. His guys took time moving our furniture around downstairs to install. They spent many days just leveling the floor, which we appreciated as that's one of the most important parts of the install to prevent problems in the future. Overall, a fantastic experience. We met Victor while shopping for hardwood floors at Karpriz. We ended up going with him and with the flooring that he recommended to us. Victor and Dmitri are legitimately passionate about flooring, and if you go with Red Machine flooring, you are not just getting a great flooring installation, but you are also paying for high quality work on your house as a whole. We worked with Victor on installing hardwood flooring in our newly purchased condo. We found that before we moved in, our condo originally had a very low quality laminate floor that had numerous gaps. When Victor came in to do a consult, his sensitivity to such flaws in flooring was so great that he could detect uneven points in the ground just by walking on particular boards (this was confirmed by a laser measurement). We hired Red machine, and they not only leveled the floor very precisely for hardwood flooring installation, but they also corrected a major flaw in our home. Our subfloor originally would squeak very loudly due to loose nails.
