1st, have not been to this restaurant in quite some time. They were still part of the Darden group. This was my uncles and in-laws fav. Mostly all family gone now. Decided on this place on a whim. Was not disappointed! Menu was great, food was excellent and no skimpy portions! Our server Julia was attentive, and very personable. Wifey got endless SHRIMP with four different selections , and a side. (Limited time) The cheddar biscuits were better than I remembered. Made a reservation for 7:00 PM and arrived a few minutes late, but the restaurant was basically empty, so we were seated immediately. Despite that, we waited about 20 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order or bring biscuits, no greeting, no check-in, nothing. There were only around 6 tables occupied and at least 4 waiters on the floor, yet service was nonexistent. When the food finally arrived, almost an hour later, our appetizer came after the main courses, which defeats the entire point of ordering one. My pasta was watery, clearly not drained properly. The food overall was mediocre at best. The waiter checked on us maybe once the entire time. We also oddly received only 3 biscuits instead of 4, which was more funny than anything, but still sloppy. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place. Subpar service and mediocre food, especially with how dead it was on a Saturday night. Honestly not surprised it was empty. The worst Red Lobster in the area. I went there on a Monday (slow day) for their advertised Endless Shrimp. There were only 2 servers scheduled there (sounds like a management problem). I waited 25 minutes just to be seated, (two couples in front of me left...got tired of waiting) and when I finally got to my table, another 45 minutes to get my food. So for me to write a review, my experience was drastically different than what I consider average. Have I gotten taller since the pandemic or have things..... Shrunk. The salad was basically in a tea cup, the biscuits looked like girl scout cookies, and my potato was the size of an anemic lime. 2 stars is because it tasted great. The cooks are on point. But the service was "diluted". Bare minimum. I was in the industry for ten years, which makes me compassionate to the cause, but there's a reason for standards. Waited ten minutes just to be seated ( place was near empty), and or server was barely there at all. Seemed much more interested in side work than customers. Overpriced. Overrated. Worst take out order I've had in a long time. Ordered through DoorDash. Dozen biscuits were missing. The clam chowder was ice cold (as if it had just come out of a refrigerator.) Chocolate milk spilled all over the inside of the bag. DoorDash from chain restaurants is usually pretty bad, but this was ridiculous. Stopped in on Sunday 11/10. My wife and I ordered the unlimited shrimp Well it started out good, our waitress Star, got our drinks, heard her deliver to the table behind us, they got the same thing. Before she walked away she asked did they want to put in another order then. Our food came, someone else dropped it off. Star didn't check on us for a while. Then when she did ,she asked if we need any thing. Yes, drink refill and maybe more shrimp. This happened two more times. Really. Endless shrimp means it's over when they say. $16.00 each for 6 to 8 shrimp. Yay, we both had reordered, and the amount was different.. So why am I reviewing chain restaurants? I guess this is to compare with the Crab Co experience that I had yesterday. My coworker and I got here at 9:30pm as we worked really late. We got seated even though the restaurant closed at 10. We ordered crab cakes. While they are supposed to be pan-seared, they appeared to be microwaved. The grill fish of the day was a tilapia in spicy soy sauce. It's supposed to be a winning recipe from a TV show. The tilapia was probably the freshest seafood of the meal ~ I would have given this place 4 stars since it was very similar to Crab Co...but for being national chain, I deducted one star for it should have been better. read more

Cost was $54.08 (price included $5.49 GrubHub delivery, 20% tip to driver = $9.01 and tax). Red Lobster forgot to pack the mushrooms and the sauce was missing for the shrimp. 1 out of 2 items ordered missing! Doesn't that suck to pay tax and tip based on items ordered and you don't get an item you paid for and paid extra to have them delivered to your home! Completely Disappointed. read more

The actual score deserved is zero out of five. Would avoid it at all costs particularly if you are ordering for pickup. The staff has very little consideration for customers and their time. Ordered for pick up and they didn't actually have what I ordered. Instead of calling me back to let me know that or asking to change to something else, which I would have done, they had me waste 40 minutes driving to and from the restaurant just to tell me they didn't have the food. Decided to dine in the restaurant for my mother's birthday. Bad idea, I don't like to complain or talk bad about establishments. In this case I have to make an exception. The waiter was slow: no drinks for almost 40 minutes. Also several of our utensils where filthy and the surrounding area tables were dirty and remained uncleared for a hour. After bringing it to the attention of the Assistant Manager and Manager we decided to not dine in and left, not because of the lack of service but we didn't feel comfortable eating there afterwards. I really enjoy red lobster, but the past couple of times we went there it's been awful. This one REALLY takes the cake. It was shrimp fest, I ordered the shrimp on a skewer and the scampi. Our service was FABULOUS, as I started eating the pasta, I noticed little black things at the bottom of the dish, turned out they were flies. I didn't want to make a scene, I told the server and then showed her. She was more mortified than me. She took the plate away and I was picking through the skewer, just to make sure they weren't on there either and low and behold, they were in the rice. The manager took care of my food, which was very nice, but I will never be back to that establishment. Gross, bugs are something that truly make me nauseous, hair doesn't necessarily bother me. read more

Note: Surprisingly, this is the same distance from Kay's home as the Red Lobster in Robinson Township, PA. Kay wanted to go to Red Lobster for their Endless Shrimp promotion. I used to really like RL when I was younger. A fairly recent visit to one in Robinson had me waxing nostalgic over the franchise. This time however, I wasn't as enthusiastic over my meal. Now the service was extremely personable, timely, and effective. Our waitress, Tracy, would probably treat you like family if you were dining at her house and is likely the best mom, grandmom, or aunt one could have. God love her. The food was...eh. I had forgotten NOT to eat steamed oysters at RL since the last time I had them (years ago at the one in West Mifflin), they were shrunken, rubbery, and only mildly flavorful. Such was the case at this RL located in a very Robinsonesque (a bastion of chains) section of Youngstown. Not even the cocktail sauce and melted butter were able to make it better. I also got a bit of grit in my teeth when I dug into them. Not nice. The Lobster Pizza was serviceable with its thin crust and heavy, liberal langostino chunks. Aside from an equally passable Apple Crumble dessert that I shared with Kay, that's all I ordered. Kay went beserk with the shrimp, pretty much ordering it in every way one could have it. She got it Sweet & Spicy, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, Coconut Shrimp (with pina colada sauce); you call it, she tried it. And guess what? Tracy brought an extra plate, instinctively knowing that I might wanna partake. The S&S shrimp was what I enjoyed the most. The remainder was again, merely unexceptional. Went to this establishment tonight for my annual once-a-year "Endless Shrimp." Needless to say, they were very busy for a Wednesday night. A twenty minute wait (which went by quite fast), and a friendly staff made everything so seamless and smooth. Our table was in a great area, clean, and prepared. I grew up in Boardman, and I'm one of those people who remembers Chi Chi's and Red Lobster as being the two places you go out to for special occasions as a kid. Chi Chi's was the obvious choice for birthdays, with the big sombreros and the singing wait staff, but Red Lobster was the refined choice, especially since you don't get much seafood in Ohio. (Who else remembers drinking the nada-coladas and pretending you were getting drunk? LOL) That said, I've been to Red Lobsters around the country since they're usually safe and I know the menu. We decided to meet up with some family here for the husband's birthday dinner since he wanted the dueling lobster tails on the lobster fest menu. We did call an hour ahead and were seated by the time they said we'd be, even with a huge line out the door. Nice. We had to wait quite a while for family to show up, because they had the date wrong and weren't ready when we got to town at 5, but the waiter was more than patient, bringing us drinks and appetizers as if it were cozy part of 2 instead of a huge table for 8. The food was quite good. Everything was hot. The husband loved his dinner, and since lobster fest goes on for another month, he wants to go back and get it again before it's gone. So they must be doing something right. And the waiter we had was top notch, even though he had most of our dining room and was running like a mad man. After living in Tampa, Florida for 3 years, I will say this much - the Red Lobster in Boardman, Ohio had better seafood than any of the Red Lobsters in Florida, or many of the non-chain seafood restaurants in Florida for that matter. Here's to hoping it keeps it's doors open for years to come, because I don't think I could take another loss like when Chi Chi's closed shop. Maybe it's my lack of experience in real seafood restaurants. Being in NE Ohio I'm not too familiar with "real" seafood. And I've never really traveled to a seaside area to have tried it there. Yes Red Lobster is part of the Darden chain, and chain restaurants do leave a lot to be desired. But I'm a huge fan of Red Lobster. I've never had bad service, I've actually always enjoyed the servers I've had. It gets busy during the weekends so try and plan to come at a time when you won't wait very long. The unlimited shrimp is my favorite but it's only offered every so often. In that case I get the shrimp 3-ways with coconut, scampi and popcorn. Always with Caesar salad, as I think they have one of the best. My other favorite is the admirals feast which comes with a lobster tail, crab legs, shrimp and a side. It's pricy at $25 but worth it. The cheddar bay biscuits are addicting and I try not to consume to many! (Darden has a way with bread...Olive Garden breadsticks, Red Lobster biscuits...) They have quite a few good appetizers as well. The lobster pizza is good, and the shrimp dip. Overall I really love Red Lobster both the one in Niles and Boardman are good and I don't mind one over the other. read more

I have never been to a Red Lobster before today. I came here with my parents for my mother's birthday, because she loves lobster. Upon walking in, we were seated immediately. Moments after being seated our waitress comes to the table, sees what we want to drink and what appetizer we would like, and brings the drinks very quickly. The speedy service was impressive! We ordered the lobster artichoke dip, and mind you I've never tried lobster before today, but oh goodness was this dip divine! Sooo creamy, cheesy, and flavorful. If I were being completely honest, I thought the dip would be great to mix in with some pasta. For my entree I ordered the crab Alfredo linguini, and my mother ordered the lobster Alfredo. I believe my father ordered a mix and match dinner special, which came with shrimp, a lobster tail, and I believe scallops? (That could be wrong.) He ate every bite and really enjoyed it. When my mother and I ordered the pasta dishes, our waitress asked what size portion we would like (lunch or dinner) my mother got the lunch and I ordered the dinner, when the food got to the table it seemed like they got the portions mixed up, because my mom's plate looked a lot more full than my plate. This wasn't a huge deal to me, I probably should have ordered the lunch portion anyways. My mom loved her dish, it came with lobster and tomatoes in a creamy Alfredo sauce. There were a few things I didn't quite like about the crab Alfredo linguine I ordered. The dish altogether could have used more salt, and definitely some more crab. They were quite skimpy on how much crab they included in the dish. The crab was also kind of mushed up in a weird way. The sauce was good, but you can tell there wasn't much effort put into it. Tasted a bit artificial to me. Plus the linguine was very over cooked to where the pasta broke up into short pieces instead of nice, long, thick linguine noodles. Overall the service was speedy, waitress was very friendly, and the food wasn't bad. Next time I'll just have to order something different. Let me first start by saying that yhe wait was surprisingly short to be seated on a Sunday evening about 6pm..... & now I know why. Too long of a wait at table before server cane to greet and give menus. In the servers defense I guess that it was because she was new. Now to the food, the salad was soaked with dressing, I forgot to order it on rhe side. The broccoli was bland and unseasoned and the food was cold. The service was so slow that I seen something that I have never seen before at a red lobster...., one of the cooks came out to serve a table the rest of there food; The lady had on a red chefs jacket and a black hat with a white apron.
