Red Lobster has never been fine dining, but it was a solid choice for Midwest seafood back in the day, but like most things private equity touches, it has now become just a sad $50 fast food seafood meal. It's been in decline for years, but last November and now yesterday (February 2026) have sealed the deal. I will not go back, or if I do, it would be for biscuits and maybe an app. I got the lobster boil. Comes with two lobster tails (very small), shrimp and crab legs. Everything was way overdone. The lobster had the taste and chew of the overdone shrimp. The crab legs (one cluster) was almost comically small. That was nowhere near a half lb cluster. It was "circa 2003 crab legs on a Chinese Buffett" size. The sauce lacked any depth of flavor, the potatoes and corn were adequate. My mom's lobster tail duo was super chewy and hard. I will say that the RL in St. Cloud did reimburse my mom's meal and took 20% off my meal (my son had the salmon and it was "not the best but pretty good" according to him). So, that's why I gave them another star. The biscuits were good and they gave my son an extra to go home with his leftovers. Service was good but a little slow. The place is looking pretty rundown, but I don't care as long as the food is good. Also. Sometime in the last few years, they got rid of the free salad (typical private equity move). It's just all over depressing. RL is the poster child of chain restaurant decline. Even if my meal was half the price, it would not have been enjoyable, but I would have left with a "I guess you get what you pay for." But for $50? Even in the Saint Cloud area, you can get such a better seafood meal and in most cases, for less. (I'd recommend: Krewe, Cafe Renaissance, The Boil, White Horse, Jack and Jim's for their shrimp) read more

My fiood was good but I had chicken strips.. my son had shrimp for 19.99 and no sides.. he got 12 shrimp... We got there at 4:30 and at 6:40 still hadn't got are bill.. finally I went up and asked what was wrong..Waitress said she was making sure it was right... then I heard if you do that then the manager would have to come and put coupon back on... This was a curbside order, so I didn't go inside. This was our first time at this Red Lobster location, and we're glad we end up getting lunch here. We are a mile away from the restaurant, and the food was kind of cold when we got it home. :-( I had a taste for seafood, so I ordered the Thursday Throwback. It comes with shrimp, fries and a drink. I added a half pound of crab legs. I ordered my husband a 12 ounce steak, side salad, garlic shrimp scampi, a loaded baked potato, and broccoli. Im sure the cheesy biscuits comes with the meal, but that didn't give us any. I paid for a half a dozen, but what happened to the ones that supposedly came with the meal? :-/ We didn't eat all of the food. I always end up ordering too much food, but my husband loves seafood, so it will definitely be eaten by him. It's Red Lobster. Decent seafood for a decent price. Takeout is pretty easy. These photos show how the admirals feast came in takeout containers. Service here is always good though and the servers are always really nice. Crab legs taste good, but they definitely smell quite more 'ocean like' than fancier restaurants and the legs are quite small. They gave me more than a half dozen biscuits which was nice! My sister and I came here on a Tuesday night. It wasn't busy. Its been so many years since I've been to any Red Lobster. The menu is very extensive. We were given those cheddar biscuits, yum. My sister and I decided on the 2 for $69 Tuesday dinner special. Which was salmon, shrimp skewers, and lobster tail. I had brocolli for a side. I think it's petty to charge $2.99 for a salad upgrade. Most prices were at least $20 something for an entree. This place ain't cheap to eat at. My sister got a pop, and it was $3.39 yikes. The food was good but really seasoned in a garlic type butter. There was even rice pilaf added. We were offered more biscuits and brought them home. The server was really nice. Red Lobster is a nice occasional place to eat. My experience was excellent today. Greeted at the door and taken to our booth, no waiting. We were asked if we wanted any drinks, husband and I ordered and maybe waited 5 minutes for them to be delivered. Then we ordered our dinners, we both had a cup of clam chowder, too. My only concern was the chowder could have been a little hotter! Our meals came quite fast, both were very good. Mine the stuffed sole, his the lobster linguine. Meh. Disappointed because Red Lobster used to be a great place to dine and actually enjoy great seafood. Today (at this location) we were told they don't have any tap beers. They used to have their own Red Lobster Ale beer on tap at other locations. We were seated at noon at a dirty table (cheese/crumbs) so we asked our waitress to wipe off the table. I'm not blaming the wait staff-it was probably an oversight by the evening staff but the service wasn't great. Red Lobster used to be a fancy place when I was a kid. Now it's something else. But it's not fancy. People wear loose baggy sweats here now and it's sad to see. The weekday four course special is good. It's recommended since it's only $17.99 for four courses. My fav will always be the crab alfredo love it. The brownie is also very good. Every time I come here the crab is over cooked and dry like jerky not sure why. But the pasta, shrimp, biscuits and soups are always good. Good for a casual dinner out. Went on a Saturday at 1 pm, with a total of 6 people. The restaurant was maybe a third full, and they tried to seat us next to a group of literally 'screaming & jumping on their booths' kids. Uncle ordered dinner size fish & chips, missing second fish filet, and we asked for one refill on biscuits our entire meal (when the entrees came out) and she shows up with them when we're nearly done. If there are kitchen issues, it would've been nice to hear up front than for everything to be problematic. The food we had was all typical of their fare, nothing bad, nothing great. The oopses just became too many. Finally, time to pay. Bill split three ways... First two transactions are fine on the little tablet that sits at our table, last one screen freezes mid payment. After we had confronted them on four different occasions, they proceeded to forget about us and began to act like we haven't asked before, they told us the wait time would be longer. I had not been to a Red Lobster in many years. I was very happy with our visit to the St. Cloud location on Labor Day, 2017. I had the Endless Shrimp with sides of baked potato and salad. Baked potato was very good, salad excellent and although somewhat over-deep fried, the Shrimp was satisfactory. My wife had flounder and said it was excellent! Her salad was dressed with a great champagne-vinaigrette. Others in party had a soup and salad and another also had the Endless Shrimp. The cheddar biscuits were just as good as I remembered them. I've always thought leaving bad reviews of any establishment is a waste of time but I'm still fuming from today's experience. I took my family here today and my father found a TOOTHPICK WRAPPER in his COLESLAW. Absolutely disgusting. I wish I could have taken a picture before our waitress took it away. Our waitress said the manager would come apologize to us immediately but she didn't come for a good 20 minutes. The waitress replaced the coleslaw but the female manager came to 'apologize' in the most condescending tone I've ever heard - continuously stating that there's no way she could imagine how it could've gotten in there implying that we must have put it in ourselves. Never mind that I've just been reunited with my father after 45 years and what was a special lunch for us turned out to be humiliating - I couldn't believe the audacity in this lady's accusing tone. There aren't a lot of options for seafood in Cloudy Town. Cafe Renaissance serves up a healthy portion of fish, shrimp, scallops. Red Lobster is a chain, but they serve seafood here. We've been pleased with our meals here: shrimp, walleye, etc., but it's not one of our most frequented spots in St. Cloud. The place is often busy; that's one reason we don't stop here more often. Our favorite thing are the cheddar bay biscuits that are served with the meal. If you've been to one Red Lobster, you've been to them all, and you know what to expect. Came for our anniversary looking forward to some great seafood. Disappointed to say the least! Service was poor. No refills offered until we were finished and had to ask the the check. Ordered the coleslaw as a side and it didn't show with a meal. Crab legs were size of toothpicks and refrigerator cold And no flavor. Lobster was undercooked and tough to remove from shell. Broccoli was aged and black on the ends. Calamari appetizer came to our table with the breading still white and cold. We will not waste our time at another Red Lobster again.
