My husband ordered the stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer, filled with seafood stuffing abs bubbly Monterey Jack cheese. They must have been good because he ate them all! He went for the endless shrimp and got our money's worth in scampi, who doesn't like garlic and butter? As for me, I went with the 12 oz. NY Strip. Seasoned well, cooked to medium rare as requested. The ambience is great! My server was friendly but the service she provided was average. My appetizer arrived piping hot, but the ultimate feast entree I ordered was subpar. It was plated beautifully, but the seafood, rice and pasta was room temperature and the bake potato and broccoli was lukewarm. My server took my plate to the kitchen and stated the manager was putting the seafood back on the grill. It was returned to me a few minutes later the same, minus the rice. He was excellent from the time we walked in to the time we walked out. He was wonderful with the children and even patient with us. Even though my children are very well mannered. You would think they were little adults when out eating. But that comes from proper upbringing and etiquette. The food was very filling but I think it set a bit due to the high volume of people for the special that came up on Monday. This review is about a takeout experience, and specifically related to the new lobster roll menu item. My wife phoned in an order and I stopped by after shopping to pick it up and take home. I arrived a few minutes before the scheduled time, went to the bar to pay. The bartender and a manager were there when I arrived. The bartender slipped me a receipt and I was surprised to see the price for the lunch lobster roll with fries was $14.49 when the a la carte lobster roll is listed for $8.49. She had gone off to the kitchen to check on the order while I was pulling cash out to pay. Apparently the manager followed her, as he came back after I waited at the bar for a few minutes and then spoke to me. He told me he was not happy with the amount of lobster on our rolls and asked the kitchen to add more. Ok, I said, thinking to myself, well I guess that's a good thing... The waitress came back with my order, which came with six cheddar bay biscuits for the two of us. I handed her my cash, took the bag and headed home. Once home, my wife unpacked our containers and found each contained two cheap hot dog bun style rolls in each tray, with skimpy, uneven chunks and strips of lobster that appear to have been steamed then reheated in a skillet. There were also skimpy amounts of fast-food style frozen French fries in each container. She reheated the fries -- as skinny fries lose their heat quickly -- and plated everything up. The buns had been grilled, and one of my wife's was charred to black along one side. The first bite was disappointingly dry, even though the lobster in the roll was supposed to have been buttery. The second bite was just as dry, so we ended up melting our own butter (none given to us with our order) to try to improve the rolls. Let me add that going into this, every lobster roll we've ever had used lobster in a mayo/celery salad type mix. We knew these were just buttered lobster in a bun but wanted to try them anyway. What a letdown. They were dry and rather flavorless, tough and chewy, with the lobster likely twice-cooked. The fries were horrible. You just can't buy a lobster roll anywhere around here; now, I'll extend that to say you can, but not a good one. You don't know until you try and now we know. Take our word for it, or take a huge risk and try for yourself. Skip the fries, please. And don't expect much. Next time we will go to the trouble of making our own when the taste for a lobster roll strikes. read more

Anyhow, I thought I'd take my mother to this Red Lobster for what was supposed to be a fun night out. It turned into a nightmare and horrible experience. After being there an hour we still were not served dinner. A family came in and was seated after us but was served their dinner before us. I asked to speak to the manager "Julie". She was paged but never showed up. After several minutes an employee pointed her out and I approached her to explain my concerns. She told me to hold on and walked away. She showed no empathy, no concern, never apologized, never offered to see why it's taking so long. Julies customer service was horrendous. We ended up leaving without being served dinner. We've been to many Red Lobsters over the years and up until now, our experiences have been exemplary. Jam packed on a Wednesday afternoon @ 3pm!!! The place seems to always get busy overtime me & my mom go here. Wait wasn't too bad as we just waited less than 10 mins. Staff is usually nice here and always accommodating. I was so very disappointed with the service I received today to the point of loosing my appetite and this particular Red Lobster has been my favorite place for special occasions such as today. Today was my guy friends 65th birthday and it was such a disaster. First of all, when we went to order salads to forever to come to the table the biscuits were overcooked. My companion ordered a admiral feast with the steak and loaded potato. It took like forever for our salad to come, once the salad hit the table it was soggy and looked like soup. Then, once the ultimate feast made it to the table maybe 45 minutes later, the steak was too tough and dry, the potato was plain....like whatever happen to quality customer service. Of course, finally I had to ask for a manager. The manager Sharee came to our table tried her best to fix the issues telling us that our server was new (I don't want to embarrass her by mentioning her name)...still not an excuse. Meanwhile, his potato finally made it back to the table and another piece of steak arrived cooked made to order as requested the first time. Piece by piece, mind you this was suppose to be a ultimate feast platter not sides returning to the table. So, sigh..... Sharee informed us that she would not charge my companion for his meal because of the issues and it was his BIRTHDAY, which was suppose to be a happy occasion, not at all. Finally... usually at the end of the meal the servers come together to wish the birthday person a happy birthday, that was horrible, three servers showed up, the saddest birthday song ever, one server was even rolling her eyes while she sang the song. Just not satisfied at all, I got a receipt and don't know what I paid for, because the bill was not itemized, I was just so disgusted and ready to go. Unpleasantly surprised, I visited this establishment for the second or third time and I haven't been impressed neither time I have been here. Upon entrance on a Tuesday at noon we had to wait for a table or booth for 20 minutes although there were some visibly available to us. After being seated, the waiter rushed us through the menu and was not very attentive to what we were ordering. The wait for the meal was acceptable and the best part was the food. This place was so close to being a 5 star location, I will never ask for anything when going to a restaurant because I do not want to put waitress on spot, but several times I sat with a empty drink and when they brought out the cheddar biscuits they didn't bring any plates of any kind, nor did I or the rest of my party have utensils when we sat down. On Mother's Day, 5-13-18 at 1:00 pm, I went to pick up an online order at the Munster IN Red Lobster. The online order was to be ready at 1:00 pm as per our order. Upon arriving, there was a short line at the online pick up window that seem to be taking a long time. At about 1:10 pm, I got up to the online window counter and paid for the order. I was told my name would be called when my order was ready. There were other people waiting for their online order. At approximately 2:20 pm, my name was called and I got the online order. We asked for a 1:00 pm pick up time because my mom is in the hospital and my sister was flying out to go home later that day. Getting the order 1.5 hours later affected having enough time to eat the meal before my sister had to leave for the airport. When we laid out the food, we noticed the food was not prepared as ordered (no cheese on potatoes, though ordered that way) and no cocktail sauce, sour cream or butter for the shrimp and bake potatoes. It was a busy day and that Red Lobster should have been prepared (had some kind of plan in place) for the upsurge of onsite diners and online orders. People should not have to wait an unpredictable amount of time for an order that had a specific delivery time. It also seemed that Red Lobster did not start preparing my order until I paid for it after arriving at the restaurant. Why bother taking an online order if the food is not going to be prepared until the purchaser arrives to pick it up. It seemed that diners at the tables were getting their food faster than those who order online expecting express service or, at the very least, having their order prepared at the time requested and assured in the online system. read more
