Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp
Shrenik P.

It's ironic that an experience unlike any other than occur at the most default, average, and prevalent seafood restaurant in the country. But that's what makes it such an infamous promotion. Something that can make going to a Red Lobster feel like an event is so rare that I can see why it's returned to the menu after a while, despite it doubtlessly losing the restaurant money. But it beckons to gluttons, discount divers, and those of the morbidly curious, and gets them inside its doors. The only cost is to the bottom line, the servers, and the shrimp themselves. As you can probably guess, I had the Endless Shrimp. Although it took over fifteen minutes from when we first sat down, the cheddar bay biscuits came out. I've been to Red Lobster several times in the past, and these are always my favorite part of the meal. They're hot, soft, have a crisp top, mild cheddar flavor, and importantly, are well-salted. I'm actually impressed how well salted these are compared to any fast food or equivalent chain who will just give you the biscuits and pretend they've never heard of seasonings. These ones weren't as hot as I remember, but everything else was still absolutely there. My first order came out about 35 (!) minutes after we first sat down, with garlic shrimp scampi, marry me shrimp, and walt's favorite shrimp. The number of shrimp in each dish was 8 in the marry me, 7 in the shrimp scampi, and 5 in the walt's favorite, and this is what I found through repeated orders. The shrimp scampi is the one with the purest shrimp. It's just seven full shrimp, but in a pretty addicting garlic butter sauce, that's best not to think about the calories too much. Still, this mostly relied on the shrimp flavor. This brings me to a common theme throughout the meal. The shrimp was actually surprisingly good. They were juicy, not overcooked, and actually tasted somewhat fresh. Compared to an actual seafood restaurant, I don't think I would've been able to tell much of a difference. Anyway, back to the others. The marry me shrimp dish was less good. You could hardly taste the shrimp as it was covered in this odd heavily baked sauce crumble thing, which honestly didn't taste like anything at all. The one nice thing is it was super hot, but you're really only eating the shrimp as the sauce crumble on the outside is meaningless for any realistic purpose. The Walt's favorite shrimp was pretty good. The breading was nice and crunchy, and there actually was a good amount of shrimp inside. I was a bit hesitant that the fried options would be too greasy, but this wasn't too bad in that regard. After finishing quickly, we got our refill order in. This time, I got another of the shrimp scampi, but the new item on the plate was the Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp. If you're doing endless shrimp - this one is a trap. It's just 4 shrimp, but they're absolutely massive and deeply breaded before being fried. If I was going just for total shrimp maximization, I would've gone with the scampi or marry me again, as you can eat 16 of those shrimp for less calories than 4 of the parrot isle ones - but I did at least want to try the item. It was solid - a very strong coconut flavor combined with a sweet pineapple sauce. It was when we got our third order (I got another set of garlic shrimp scampi and marry me shrimp) and attempted to place our fourth order, that our waitress finally put a stop to us - telling us at 9:40 that the kitchen was closed and there would be no more orders. In total, each of us had 46 shrimp. Although we easily could have kept going for a few more plates. I suppose it's our own fault for coming 90 minutes before closing. I'm not going to say it's the greatest food. But to me, there's not as many things fun as going to a Red Lobster when Endless Shrimp is available. You may regret it the next day (I actually didn't due to the early stoppage), but you certainly won't regret it in two weeks. 9/10

I saw this place when I was out buying grocery one day so I convinced my friends to have our little Xmas dinner here hahah. We all wanted to be shrimp drunk so it was a great place to have our gift exchange and eat food. I got the so endless shrimp and my friends got a boil and a shrimps salad with popcorn shrimp. Our server was sooo sweet. I wish I had grabbed his name! He was so friendly and loveeed how he was talking to us like we were his old friends. We were seated in the back at a fairly large table. It was kind of quiet the night we had dinner but it was also raining. I enjoyed dinner. It's been awhile since I've had red lobster (12 years since I've gone to one) it was good. I'll definitely have to come back.

We came here on a quiet weekday afternoon for my wife's bday. The server was super nice. He brought us extra of those amazing cheddar biscuits right away. We got the salmon lunch bowl and the shrimp trio. Everything tasted great!

Dinner today was great. I had to use my reward points before they expired! Free biscuits yeah! The service was good I ordered on the app and had curbside assistance! Nice service. Ordered shrimp my way (2 typed with broccoli). I recommend this location!

It's been a while since I've done to a Red Lobster, and it was a great spot for a Friday night with no wait. (The place was kind of empty really). We were sat in the far back and enjoyed pina coladas topped with choice of extra flavoring. The newer seafood boils and the current crab fest are fun editions with their flavor options. I got some Cajun crab and it was delicious over some crispy potatoes. We got a few bread basket refills and was an overall good experience.

This is a great Red Lobster location. The food met my expectations and I received outstanding service. I believe my server's name was Amy, she was superb.

calamari, crab mash potatoes, biscuits (came with seafood boil meal), sailor's seafood boil family meal, lobster pappardelle pasta

I know red lobster gets a lot of flack for being a chain restaurant (blah blah), but I honestly get good meals from this place. On past orders may have had a bit overcooked pasta or rubbery seafood, but even really niche and high end joints have done me wrong so its a risk I accept that I take when eating out. Anyway, I wanted to give props to red lobster for my order today. First off, holy $%#! for the sailor's seafood boil. It did not specify how much you were gonna get in the menu, so I was not prepared by the amount that actually came with it. Got 3 tin trays each with equal portions of corn, pots, and shrimp. Not to mention it came with biscuits (which was not mentioned in the menu either), so don't order any sides of it unless you really want extra extra. I was almost certain the shrimp would've been on the rubbery side by the time I got it all home, but nope, it was just at that sweet spot. Fed the fam for the night and just a little leftovers to take for lunch tomorrow Oh, and I'm a sucker for key lime pie so I ordered a whole pie to-go. Their vanilla bean cheesecake is also good so recommend giving it a try if wanting to fill that sweet craving. Thanks, Red Will visit again soon

Was guested last night for dinner by a thoughtful friend and family member following an unhappy event that day. Upon entering the restaurant, it was evident that the near full house was having a great time dining and socializing. Almost every table had multiple cocktails as well as starters. We found a perfect table for two and were immediately greeted by our server. Wish I had gotten his name to recommend him for his exemplary service. A genuinely nice person with a kind and comfortable service demeanor. He preempted our every need from start to finish. Since I was the guest and not paying the tab, I don't know the gratuity that left for him, but I hope it was generous. My host had the grilled schrimp salad. I had Momma's Meatloaf Dinner, a generous and satisfying meal, well seasoned and really enjoyed. This is a near perfect restaurant. Prices are fair, service is tops, food is enjoyable. This server, brown wavy hair past his ears and dark mustache took our orders and never came back. When we were ready for the check he was busy talking to someone unrelated to food orders or food..period! He didn't care to look over. Then I asked the host for our check. She tried helping but could not print our check because she was not the server. She then walked over to get his attention discretely, no such luck, he kept on talking. A few more minutes, I asked her if she was getting me the check, she explained that she could not. So i waited, I think he glanced over and back to jabbing. Then the host had to go get help from the someone that could override and allowed her to print. horrible service this second time..not sure I want to take a chance on bad services again. the place was not busy at that time so busyness cannot be a reason. And, he was not working, he spent that time talking.

This place has the hole in the wall authenticity and the modern coziness. The Pho is AMAZING! The prices are a bit high for a bowl of pho, but the broth makes it all worth it! It is really good! The Large bowls are quite large and at first glance you might think they skimped on the meat. However, as you eat you keep fishing out the meat hidden in the sea of broth goodness. I wouldn't necessarily say they give you a lot of meat, but it is sufficient. Service was excellent. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Every Saturday night, they have live music at 8PM and they are open late. I didn't get to stay and listen, but I will have to return and give it a try. The bar looks modern and attractive. They also play Seahawks and Mariners on both screens. This place has a lot of allure for entertainment and a good meal! If you are looking for a hidden Pho gem, this is the place! A large Pho came to about $20 and some change after tax. But I would say it is worth it. The broth itself makes it stand out above other places. I can say watching other dishes come out at other tables, the food looked amazing. I can't wait to go back and try other things! Give this a try! You won't be disappointed!

The B1 vermicelli bowl was mostly ok but the egg roll in it was so mediocre it might literally be the worst one I've ever had in any Vietnamese vermicelli bowl. The rest of the meat in the bowl seemed decent or good. The #6 pho was pretty ehhh esp compared to the equivalent at Pho Than Brothers. The broth was good, maybe slightly greasier, but the tendon and beef was waaaay fattier and lower quality than what you get at Pho Than, plus you get much less quantity. I ended up discarding half the meat in the bowl because it was so fatty, so I basically paid $18 for a bowl of noodles and pho broth. The interior seating is a weird material that doesn't let go of stuff, so look carefully before you sit - my booth had a bunch of crumbs and hair that wouldn't go away even when I used my own tissue to wipe it. I later found the crumbs clinging to the edge of the seat because the surface is weirdly sticky. This place was ok to try one-time, but it's not somewhere I would want to come back for the food. But you can probably guess this would be the case given the Yelp highlighted popular dishes are stuff like pad thai, Mongolian beef, and crab Rangoon

I was really happy I was able to get a twice baked potato, because I find them as a delicacy that are slowly fading away. I loved how all the flavors in this just came together so well. And it was definitely the star of the show. For the prime rib sandwich, I found that when paired with the au jus, it came together quite well. I noticed my friend got horseradish with his dish, but I didn't get it with mine. When I added some of that to the sandwich, it elevated it even more. I tried a bite of my friend's prime rib and it was pretty solid. The crispy onion was really good too. The fries from my friend's burger weren't bad either. This visit was for a particularly important occasion. There were six of us celebrating our friend Amanda's birthday. this year we really wanted the evening to be about celebrating Amanda, surrounding her with people who love her, and giving her a genuinely happy birthday memory. We had a six-top in the bar, and overall dinner was very good. Management seemed attentive, the food was well prepared, and I especially appreciated that they use seat numbers when delivering food rather than standing at the table auctioning off plates. As someone who works in hospitality, that little detail matters. It's professional, polished, and exactly what I expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Our server, Kaylee, I believe, took care of us throughout dinner. Her service style was a little robotic and dry, but everyone has a different personality and that certainly didn't ruin our evening. The meal does take some time, but honestly, we enjoyed that because it gave the six of us plenty of time to talk, laugh, and enjoy each other's company. Unfortunately, the end of the evening is where things really fell short. Toward the end of dinner, I privately found our server and told her it was Amanda's birthday and asked if she could bring out a dessert with a candle. I was hoping for just a small surprise and a nice birthday moment for our friend. Instead, the desserts were brought to the table with the candle unlit, placed in the middle of the table, and then the candle was lit right there. It completely removed the element of surprise and just felt very flat and mechanical. I wasn't expecting a Broadway production or the entire restaurant to sing, but a little warmth and enthusiasm would have meant a lot--especially at a restaurant known for hospitality. We also ordered a crème brûlée, and unfortunately it was genuinely bad. It wasn't sweet and had an overwhelming egg flavor--to the point that everyone who tried it compared it to scrambled eggs. We took one bite and were done. What made that more disappointing was that our server never returned after dropping off the desserts. I had already handed her my card for our roughly $450 check, so there was never an opportunity for her to ask how dessert was or for us to let her know something was wrong. Overall, I'd call this about a 3 1/2 out of 5 experience. The steaks and dinner itself were very good, the restaurant remains beautiful, and there are still many things The Keg does exceptionally well. I just wish the final 15 minutes had matched the level of care shown throughout the rest of the meal. For most people, a birthday candle might seem like a tiny detail. For Amanda, this particular birthday meant a little more. I just wish that moment had been handled with a little more thought and warmth.

THE FOOD: We immediately had warm, thick tortilla chips and house made red salsa on the table. Salsa is on the spicier side, but was absolutely delicious. We had the Cadillac margarita (moderately strong and well mixed), tacos dorado with steak (fried and seasoned perfectly), and corn tacos with birria (melt-in-your-mouth and perfect temp). The bar is its own little mixology section and is very well stocked. Our family stopped here for a late lunch. We've been to many Cheesecake Factory locations before,…read moreincluding this location. It was a Monday, so it was very quiet at 1pm. We were seated immediately. I tried the following: - Complimentary Bread: Always good. - Miso Salmon (lunch size): OK. This is a dish we regularly order because it's consistently good. This was still pretty good, but the salmon was slightly overcooked, so drier that we normally like. - Parmesan Truffle Fries: Good. But a bit expensive. - Double Smash Cheeseburger Bites: Good. Service was an acceptable standard. Food took a little longer than expected, given how quiet it was. Our initial server went on a break, so we had a substitute server take our order and check up on us. Overall, it went as we expected. Cheesecake Factory has a huge menu, so it takes a while to figure out what they do well and what they don't do well. We know what to order, and it gets delivered fairly consistently. I never mind going to a Cheesecake Factory if I don't want to spend the time figuring out where to go.

Came at 5:30 for a birthday dinner with the family. By almost 8 we were still waiting on the…read morecheesecake. We waited forever to get seated, forever to order, forever for the food... and then forever again for dessert. The waits alone turned a special night into a patience endurance test. Dad's classic burger was, in his words, one of the worst he's ever had. Nephew's ribeye arrived overcooked. My jambalaya was fine (I finished it), but that was about the only win. Oh, and the prices? Feels like they upgraded the menu to "luxury hotel fancy diner" levels while we were gone. Long waits + underwhelming food + birthday vibe killed = not coming back anytime soon.

Service is great, food is even better. I think about the gnocchi all ATLEAST once a month and my…read morefriends are always happy to come along! My go to - Gnocchi w/ Gorgonzola & peas, add chicken & a martini . Desserts are mandatory, we end the evening with Torta Caprese & a cappuccino! Love the dim lighting and old restaurant feel.

First time going here. I know they have good food because I witnessed my wife enjoy her dish. The…read moreCaesar salad and garlic bread were wonderful. That's the positive. The not so positive. We had a 15 minute wait for our table so we sauntered over to the bar and got a drink. As always, the table was ready much sooner, which is greatly appreciated. We brought our drinks over the table and maybe 5 minutes (that's a long time after being seated) later our server popped their head in and said, Do you know what you want to eat? Straight to the point. No, How Are You Doing, No nothing. Just have you made up for your mind. lol I could tell she was miffed because we brought drinks over from the bar. There goes the larger bill, therefore a larger gratuity. I know from experience, that was always a pet peeve. You also never know the type of evening someone is having. I always try to extend a little grace in the long run. I'm sure a lot have enjoyed their Chicken Parmigiana. I'm not one of them, mainly for all of the beets and carrots. Yes, beets and carrots took out more than half of the plate. I counted four bowtie pasta. Not to mention the beets were hidden under all of the carrots. And that's fine, but let people know that you're getting beets and carrots with Chicken Parm entree. I think either the server or the menu said something about broccoli. I had two florettes. Dessert (cheesecake with blueberry sauce ) was amazing, but the serving size was sad. Call me Tom, short for Petty, but there was more Readi Whip than cheesecake. And the size. Oh, the size, it was so small. Speaking of small, I think they get 12 chicken Parmesan from one chicken breast. Extremely thin. I know darn well all of these rising costs are hitting everybody/business in their pocketbooks, but, just don't serve some things. With all this said, I will be back. Like I said initially, I know they make good food. Looking forward to trying a grinder, just won't get the chicken Parmesan with root vegetables. PS. I dinedthere a few nights ago and then I got this alert.
