The flounder plate was burnt to a crisp and the dish so dried up you couldnt even eat it . So needless to say we left and took our business elsewhere. Went to Red Lobster on a Wednesday afternoon about 430 pm. It wasn't that busy yet. Ordered salmon dinner off menu. Waitress came back couple minutes later said they were out of salmon, Really? At a seafood restaurant! So Ordered shrimp Alfredo. The food we ended up getting was hot, perfect. Waitress was on top of everything kudos to her think her name was Jay .Small African American girl.she had us and couple other tables around us,from what I could tell she was on top of all tables in her area! Hadn't been to a Red Lobster in a number of years because I remembered it tasting greasy. We gave this one a try and were pleasantly surprised. We both had the shrimp 3 ways and decided to each have 3 different (of the 6 choices) so we could taste them all. The best were the coconut fried shrimp which came with a dipping sauce that my husband loved. We both also really enjoyed the spicy BangBang shrimp. The rice mix that was served with the skewered shrimp was chewy but the shrimp were done well. I found the price to be reasonable for what we got. Red Lobster is my favorite chain restaurant and usually I would recommend it with 4 or 5 stars but the food was mixed up and the waitress had no idea what to do to fix it. My husband and I ordered crab legs but different crabs (he ordered snow crab and I ordered Bairdi). My plate had the snow and his had the Bairdi but the waitress was arguing with us about it and she went and got the manager and he wasn't sure what was wrong. After I explained to him that they were not the same and that the snow crab wasn't as "prickly" as the Bairdi and all that needed to be done was to swap crab. My husband's potatoes were not hot. The background music gives nice ambiance, and the servers were quick and attentive. Brittany (a 4yr veteran) was great! As usual, the food was excellent with a great sear on my salmon (YUM, Jack!) The snow crab were done well also and plenty of Cheddar Bay Biscuits! For under $20.00 the pick 2 (w Salmon and Snow Crab legs) plus biscuits, salad and vegetable medley is healthy and a deal! We had a reservation for 6:30 PM last night, and was sat pretty quickly. Unfortunately that was the only part that went right. We sat at our table for for almost 40 minutes before getting waited on for drinks as our server walked past us multiple times. The shrimp was so salty I could barely eat it and was stuck to the plate.. the crab legs were so over done that you could not crack them open because of how rubbery it became. I don't generally get excited about chain restaurants, but I have to confess that this Red Lobster exceeded my wildest expectations with their amazing customer service. My business associate and I were staying across the street from this restaurant at the Fairfield Inn in Jackson, Michigan. It had been a long flight up from Tampa, FL plus the hour-long drive from the Detroit Airport, and we were looking for a quick, no hassle dinner. Red Lobster happened to be sitting right across the service road from our hotel. SCORE! We were seated immediately by a very pleasant hostess, who also took our drinks order since the server was a little backed up. That gave us a few moments to look through the menu before our server made it to the table. She said "Good Evening" and then apologized profusely for not being there to greet us when we were first seated. She offered to buy us an appetizer to make up for her tardiness (what tardiness???), but we politely declined and assured her that all was well. We placed our dinner orders, and she was back right away with an extra big order of Red Lobster's Cheddar Bay biscuits to hold us over while we waited for our food. Nom nom nom! I ordered the Shrimp Lovers' platter where you could choose various styles of shrimp, and it was all you can eat. My associate went with some type of Fisherman's Platter which had a little bit of this and a little bit of that. When the food arrived, my associate made an off-hand remark that the size of the food in the picture on the menu was substantially larger than the size of the food on his plate. Our waitress overheard the comment, and within moments the manager was table-side and apologizing for the meal. Without hesitation he comp'd Denis's dinner and even bought him another beer. Me? I was happily chomping on Garlic Parmesan Shrimp and watching all of this. When the bill came, the cost of the one meal had been removed, as promised. The manager came back to our table and handed each of us his business card. He told us to ask for him the next time that we visited his restaurant, and that he would be sure that everything was to our satisfaction. I have to confess that I've eaten in a lot of restaurants over the years, and I've even had some awful dining experiences when traveling. This was by far one of the best customer service experiences that I've seen in a very long time. Everything was handled quickly, discreetly, and professionally by a server and a general manager who cared very dearly about the satisfaction of their customers. Yeah, it's a chain restaurant by the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere, but it's staffed by an amazing team of people who put customer service first. This is the nicest Red Lobster we have been to in years and years. In fact, my husband had stopped frequenting Red Lobster so my visits were greatly limited . There was always something wrong- poor service, long waiting periods, too much bread, not enough seafood ,etc. The weather was bad and this Red Lobster was close to our hotel. So we went in. Lucky for us. The manager apparently had everything under control. The place was packed. The isles, crowded with waiters with large trays laden with food were going quickly and quietly by. The tables were full of people but we were seated right away. If you closed your eyes you felt like you were in a spacious area where noise and people traffic was very minimal. The service has gotten MUCH better here than it's been in previous years. Each time we've been here in the past year, our waiters have been attentive while still giving us time to decide and eat. We had been doing this for years get there early and be prepared to wait for you large (over 8 people) party to be seated. We were told they no longer seat parties larger than 8 together.
