Service was good. Staff was friendly, extremely busy, but still able to help us when we needed them. Food was good for the price. Spinach dip was creamy, and had a nice surprise of chopped red pepper I wasn't expecting. Bean burrito was ok. Could have had more sauce and cheese. It was a bit dry. Atmosphere was what you might expect. A mix of people; families, people enjoying their beverages, couples having dinner, a few louder groups who had been enjoying drinks for awhile. Still felt comfortable being there with our 3 year old though. read more

We had the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, Sticky Burger, and Tavern Burger. The dip was mostly cream cheese with a little bit of spinach in it. It was a wonderful chip dip, but not a great spinach and artichoke dip. The idea of peanut butter and bbq sauce on a sandwich was wild to me - and it was good, but it seems more like a menu item for the novelty of it all. The combination of ground meat, the large buns, and the huge glob of peanut butter made it a very "heavy" burger. The spicy fries were treally good - I love that it's their own secret seasoning! I've only been here once - but I'm willing to try it again. I do want to come back for the Fish Friday and I'd like to try the Polish food, too. The Mexican food items surprised me - I don't always trust restaurants that have such a wide variety of food styles. The wait staff was super friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. I also liked the vibe of the place - it's an eclectic little joint! My only real complaint is the price point. It seems a little pricey for what you get - but so is everything these days! read more

I was in the Jackson area for work and had lunch with a co-worker at Roadhouse Grill & Bar. I love the divey but clean feel of this place and immediately felt a homey welcome. It was quiet on an early Wednesday afternoon which was nice to be in and out for our limited lunch time. I decided on the veggie burger with sweet potato fries and I was not disappointed. I loved the pineapple and spinach combo along with hot pepper cheese and kick from the sauce. The sweet potato fries are awesome, hot with a little crisp but not burned or flavorless. The appitizes are fried, the main courses are low quality, and the salad anemic. The pumpkin pieces delicious. Our waitress was delightful, attentive snd did a good job. To start we had someone who did not get what they ordered. once we we're given the correct food we ordered.. we were willing to take what they gave us but there was a price difference so they wanted us to pay the up charge.. no problem we will take what we ordered.. there was also a drink that was ordered before the appetizer arrived.. it was never receive. well she was willing to bring it once we were done.... then it came time to pay. there were three of us we did say individually billed. I decided to pay for one of the other two meals. when she took my card she paid the one wrong bill not either of the two I was paying for. she cashed out for the two meals and did not tell me she refunded the other..when I pointed it out she threw the card for mine and the other person whom was paying for the individual meal at me and did not even charge for the third meal. We went up to pay for the third meal instead of leaving and she blamed us and said we are bullying her at her Job because we said it was not good service. Really? That being said, if the un-fish sandwich was any indication of their customer appreciation, forget this dive. Yes, it was the end of the night, but it's not professional for the kitchen to say "Screw the customer. We're tired and want to go hit a blunt." What I paid for was what looked like guppy shit--not fish! Waiter Micah was nice enough, but the kitchen basically crapped on him too. Micah is the reason they get the 3rd star. Advice to people who have teeth and use soap: avoid this place. It's pathetic when places drive away customers WITH money! read more

I visit Jackson at least once a month. The Roadhouse is one of my favorite stops. From my first visit, the staff was very friendly. They have a good selection drinks at a fair price. The food is varied, but often a traditional American bar fare. They have Polish night and a selection of Mexican food on top of the many sandwiches and salads. Very hearty portions on most items. There is one pool table and an Internet jukebox. They do the whole karaoke thing on some nights. Overall, it is the friendly people and welcoming atmosphere that makes this a very cozy spot away from home. My one complaint is that they got rid of the calamari rings. read more

This place is an absolute GEM in Jackson. The menu here is INSANE and quite a few pages long, with even more food on certain nights of the week- Polish on Wednesdays, fish on Fridays, and prime rib on Saturdays. Everything I've had here has been straight up delicious. Get the kale slaw as a side dish, seriously- it won't make you think of eating plain kale at all; it's even better than regular cole slaw! I've never had a bad meal here, and while right now I'm in the area a lot and it's convenient, I will totally still make the drive out from Ann Arbor now and again down the road, it's just that good. read more

A proverbial hidden gem in a city not known for its culinary spots, the roadhouse is a happening place. Buried away in the outskirts of Blackman township and in the periphery of Jackson, the roadhouse is surrounded by nothing. It's ostensibly a pub food joint, but it's surprisingly multi-ethnic, with polish and Mexican food sharing space with domestic bar food. The veggie burger is amazing and unique; it has pineapple blanketed by melted pepper jack, jalapeño and a southwest sauce. The fries were delicious. They have trivia nights, which sound amazing, and free pool on Friday's. We went on a quiet little Sunday. I can't wait to go back for the action. read more

It was very over priced. The fries were cold and frozen. The bbq sauce was ok. The spicy roadhouse fries were not flavored but in one small area (and i emphasize small). I got the ham and cheese sandwich and it was loaded with ham. There was not a good ratio to ham and cheese and other veggies. The pop was tasted wierd. Our waitress was rude and acted like she didnt care and was put off by having to get what we asked for. The prime rib sandwich was decent. We ordered the mozz stix and the pretzels, the cheese stix were frozen. So was the pretzels. And the sauces for both were nasty and cold. The sticky burger was GOOD. The patties were fresh. The philly cheese steak, which was ok. All in all I would not get that sandwich if I were you. read more

This is hands down my favorite place to eat in Jackson. The Sticky Burger is absolute favorite. Everyone I have brought to eat here out of town and locals love this place. I live here in the summer and Nevada in the winter. And I get so excited to come back and finally get to eat here again. This place is the perfect amalgamation of small town pub, old school speak easy, artsy decor, and Saturday night karaoke. The building is likely hitting it's centennial before too long. Once an old stagecoach stop, if rumors are true, supposedly converted to a speak-easy complete with underground tunnels during the prohibition. The husband and wife team that own it now are both sculptors and artists and their work adorns walls and tables in a subtle but homey way. The place is big enough for parties and small enough for an intimate dinner for two. Their menu is fantastic and affordable, with themed specials every day. I recommend Polish night, or Friday, where you can get all you can eat fish or the dinner-plate-sized prime rib. Their salads are a whole new world of taste delights. You'll understand when you see the menu. The best part for me is the staff and owners - you really feel like you're a friend and not just a patron. If you're lucky you can catch a slow night and while away hours hearing stories from the world-traveling bar owners about their various escapades. I love going to the Roadhouse on Wednesday for Polish food. It is so good and my Polish friend who meets us there says the while the golumpki isn't as good as grandma's it is pretty close. Good beer selection and fun burgers. If it isn't a Wednesday I'm getting a drunken trucker (The burger :) The waitresses have always been fantastic and super nice. read more
