Our server was very nice. The parking lot was packed but we didn't have to wait for a table. The food came out promptly. We ordered pretzel bites as an appetizer, a chicken club with fries, and a taco salad in a shell bowl. When I saw the amount of food served, I asked for a take out container. After a few bites of each item, we decided to leave, and the takeout container stayed on the table. We will not return anytime soon. read more

Place was absolutely packed when we went last night. With that being said, the service was pretty poor. Props to the staff for staying positive though. This place had a nice atmosphere with a beach theme throughout. The bar area was pretty spacious as well. We ordered chicken nachos and a grilled fish wrap with sweet potato fries. The food was pretty decent but it took roughly 30 minutes for us to get our meal (we also never got any silverware or extra napkins). Overall, I would like to try this place again when it is not so busy. They have a large menu and I am curious to try more. read more

We brought a group of 20 to Bone Island. Normally when a group is that large, not everyone is satisfied and the wait staff seems hassled. Bone Island was a pleasant surprise. They had no problem pushing together tables to accommodate our group, the wait staff was cheerful and efficient, the drink and food menus were extensive and varied (many enjoyed the daily specials), and everyone loved his/her meal. The owner came over several times to make sure everyone was happy. We stayed over 3 hours! We will definitely return. read more

More like 3.75 stars. Food was good. Portions were decent and worth the price. Our server forgot my husband's seafood chowder but did make up for it by not charging us for it. Everything came out except my side of fries. The cook/waitress had a miscommunication. The wait for the fries wasn't too bad just a bit annoying. It wasn't busy at all (only two other tables) so the mix-ups and forgetfulness is hard to justify. The one thing that really saved this from just 3 stars is the server did not place the hot food in front of my youngest and made sure to hand it to one of the adults at the table. We will return. Bone island, a favorite in our house. Particularly the Casino Burger or pulled pork nachos. Ordered takeout many times during the latest closure of restaurants and was not disappointed once. Can't wait to be able to dine in here again. If you are going in the summertime, their back patio is almost always open and a hidden gem. read more

Eh, don't want to be too harsh but this is probably my least favorite place around Jackson. Never have had a good meal there and since I have friends that live nearby, I find myself there more often than I'd like. Mixed drinks are ultra stingy and overpriced. Cool little key west feeling restaurant - foods ok - fun place to gather with family and friends

First thing I must say it's very disappointing that Bone Island Grille, doesn't reply back to negative reviews like most restaurants do that actually care about their customers. We went to Bone Island Grille, for the first time Saturday night around 7pm. After standing at the door for about 5 min and no one seating us, we decided to grab a seat at the bar. We watched our bartender/waitress who's name rhymes with "Spacey" walk by us and look in our direction a few times without acknowledging our presence. It wasn't until about 10 minutes later when another couple sat down next to us she said, I'll be right with you! Another 5 minutes goes by and finally, I asked my friend to grab the menus that were behind the bar. As he is reaching for them "Spacey" yells.... I can do that! Really? Then why didn't you? I ordered the Fajita Wrap with fries and an order of chips and salsa for an appetizer and my friend ordered the tacos. After about 15 minutes, I asked "Spacey" when my chips and salsa would be coming out soon? She said, they should be out really soon. Seriously! It's chips and salsa! I'm pretty sure it doesn't take that long to prepare them and bring them out. Finally 10 minutes later she brings out my chips and salsa. The chips and salsa were really good, but definitely not worth the amount of time it took for her to bring them out. After 35 minutes, we asked her where are food was? She informed us it was really busy and it should be out really soon. After 10 minutes another waitress who I'll call "Colleen" and definitely "My Hero" brought out our food. The Fajita Wrap was warm but really good with a lot of flavor. And my friend seemed to enjoy his tacos. Having waiting tables, I understand it can be really busy at times and on occasions you may just be having a really bad day, but that's still no excuse for not checking on your tables and bad customer service. I usually try to leave 25% tip for my waitress or waiter but with "Spacey" I left her 15% and I felt that was too much! I will give Bone Island Grille another try because, I did enjoy the food and I'm betting it will be even better when served hot. Next time I will definitely asked to be seated in the dining area and not sit at the bar. read more

My husband and I stopped here last night after looking at a boat in the area. We had a coupon for a BOGO entree from the Enjoy the City book and thought we would give it a try. What a pleasant surprise. First off, our server was a sweet young lady that was eager to make our experience positive. Attentive and knowledgeable, she was quick on refills, menu suggestions, and bringing the check, when we were ready. I had one of the specials, a salmon strawberry salad. For $8.99, it came with what seemed to be an 8oz. perfectly cooked portion of salmon, blue cheese, red onion, over romaine lettuce. It was a large portion and absolutely delicious! My husband had another special, the black and blue grouper which I think referred to the sauce the grouper came with. The grouper was also perfectly cooked and wonderful! We ended up sharing our fish with each other, as both were so delicious! He got the sweet potato fries and a side salad with his entree, both fairly standard bar/grill accompaniments. We also started the meal with a fairly standard tasting fried pickle order. The standout here is definitely the fish! Wonderfully seasoned and prepared. We also ended our meal with a suggestion from our waitress (after we insisted we were too full for dessert), the $0.99 brownie sundae. Gooey brownie triangle with a scoop of vanilla and a drizzle of hot fudge. A perfect end to the meal. I would suggest to anyone in the Jackson area, or a passerby, like us. This is not your typical hole in the wall kind of bar. Even though it has a hole in the wall atmosphere in the customer service is actually pretty great the food itself is actually that as well it does offer or unique experience. The place is decorated of Jimmy Buffett kind of vomited everywhere but that's kind of cool I can actually like that. I'm not actually at the bar drinks at this location however heard they're pretty good in they're also very reasonably priced the food itself has also recently priced and it's what you expect from barfood. The customer service is usually pretty great I usually don't ever have to wait when I go to this location.
