My husband and I were there on Easter Sunday. The place was super busy with more than 20 people waiting when we got there. We still were seated at a comfortable booth within 15 minutes! The food was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly and portions were generous enough to have leftovers. My first time at Texas Roadhouse since we don't have them in LA! The manager was super sweet. She came over, introduced herself, and gave us a coupon for a free appetizer. I tried the ribs with Caesar salad and loaded mashed potatoes. The ribs were tender but needed more BBQ sauce, the mashed potatoes were a little dry, and the salad had too much dressing. The cheese fries were overcooked, but the warm bread and cinnamon butter made up for everything. Honestly, the best part of the meal! So first I have to say, I typically will give a review for 1 of 2 reasons. That is, if the experience was as exceptionally good, or if the experience was really bad. I won't waste my time writing about run-of-the-mill or mediocre service. I've visited Texas Roadhouse 4 times, in 4 different cities and had never had good service. Don't get me wrong; love their food. But service had run from abysmal to meh. Until now ... We visited this TR at the suggestion of a friend during a bowling tournament. Not my first choice, but what the heck. To my surprise, seating was fast) even though we had a large group). And our server was great. I hate that I didn't get her name (I didn't think I'd write a review.) She was attentive without being annoying. But what happened that made me decide to write a review? A simple, sweet act of kindness. As we were packing up or containers for "doggy bags", the server came over and asked us if we would like some complimentary peanuts to snack on later. That was it! Never had that ever happened at any TR I ever visited, and it changed my heart about TR. So, as I munch on these peanuts, I was compelled to give a shout out to the Texas Roadhouse on Boardman Rd in Jackson, MI. You have set a bar that I doubt will be passed by your fellow cohorts. I hope I'm wrong. But somehow, I get the feeling that I'm not. Why not 5 stars? Well, given my past not-so-stellar experiences at TR restaurants, I'm going to reserve that star for my next visit (at this location, next year) to be sure this great experience wasn't just a fluke. The Good: Unbeatable Steak: As always, the steak was phenomenal. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I stand by my claim - it's the best! Friendly Service: Despite the wait, the servers were attentive and helpful once we were seated. The Not-So-Good: Long Wait Time: We were quoted a 60-90 minute wait, but it ended up being 2 hours! Even receiving texts that our table was "ready" just to be told it wasn't, was frustrating. Restaurant Upkeep: The overall cleanliness and upkeep of the restaurant felt neglected, possibly due to prioritizing seating more customers. Overall: While the food and service were still good, the excessive wait time and restaurant condition detracted from the experience. I understand there might have been extenuating circumstances, but it would have been appreciated if communication was clearer and the wait was more accurate. Recommendation: If you're willing to potentially face a long wait and a less-than-ideal ambiance, the food at Texas Roadhouse is definitely worth it. Just be prepared for the possibility. P.S. Excellent menu selection and modestly priced. The food is always good with excellent service.

Prime rib was cooked to perfection. Rolls and butter are always amazing. Server was very friendly but almost seemed fake. It was a bit cold in the restaurant. Biggest flaw was the appetizer came out halfway through our dinner which is odd since we ordered well before our food. Sadly we didn't eat it because we were too full. I sat at the bar area. Betsy was my server. Great attitude and funny. I appreciate humanness and small talk. My steak came out too raw. The couple next to me had the same issue. The manager Olivia was so great at mitigating the issue. She took it back and returned to talk while it was being remade. She took responsibility and made it right. This is what you want to happen! I left feeling better even with the slight hiccup. As a side note- Olivia loves the company and the people she works with. It's very apparent that she will continue to be an asset to the company. I stopped there for dinner last Saturday. I ordered the Sirloin Steak Dinner with mushroom and no sauce. When the waitress brought my meal it was dripping with sauce. This was the WORST STEAK I COULD NOT HARDLY CUT OR EAT. It was full of gristle. I told the waitress how bad it was. I just wanted to pay the bill and to get out of there. I will never be back and will not recommend this place to anyone. Our server Jace us the best dining experience at Texas Roadhouse, went over the top to make sure we were happy and brought all the servers together for a traditional Texas Roadhouse birthday celebration outside of our booth, but he went above and beyond what other servers normally do. Times must be hard on the Texas Roadhouse front. You only get 3 rolls at a time and never ask if you need more butter. The waitress that my husband and I had was absolutely amazing. However, the food was so bad. $70 for a garbage meal. I had the salmon with a Caesar salad and green beans. DO NOT GET THE GREEN BEANS! They were horrible. No seasoning, no butter. Straight out of a dollar tree can. I almost lost it. My husband's steak was also not seasoned, tasted bland the onion topper was undercooked, mushy and slimy. Dang near a whole onion on top of his ribeye. If I could give this location less than one star I would. Not the first time this has happened at this place. This time we stopped at the Texas Roadhouse in Jackson, MI. Normally, we go to the Portage, MI location. We noticed a DIFFERENCE between the two! While the Jackson location has more tables than the Portage location, the Portage location offers better servers and better gravy! The Jackson location had many open tables when we were seated, but we still waited a significant amount of time before someone finally came over to get our drink order. I have NEVER waited that long at Portage even when they are busy. The gravy wasn't the normal thick, flavorful gravy that we are used to. This gravy was quite bland.
