Cool place to stop and have a drink and pizza. Awesome service and great food. I got a few beers and IPA and a lager. Then we got a garlic bread and a pizza. Its all done Detroit style with thick crust. We got the redwing with pepperoni. It was great with a great crunch from the crust and a nice sauce. Paired with a rich topping of ricotta. A great experience I will be back. Cool interior and patio.

This is a pretty cool spot with some nice outdoor seating for when it's warm out. You order up at the counter and they bring it to your table. We got the OG Pepperoni. It was very good, but I personally thought there wasn't enough sauce (probably a Detroit pizza thing, this is my first time). Also, I wasn't a huge fan of how they placed the pepperoni; they stacked like 5 pieces on top of each other throughout, so when you got pepperoni in a bite you got a LOT of pepperoni. They had an interesting drink menu as well. Would like to come back and try some of the drinks and other pizzas!

I love Detroit pizza and I get it every week in Chicago. Happened to wander the neighborhood and stumbled upon this place, which was an immediate YES. Sat outside (really nice outdoor patio with plenty of room and super chill vibes!!) you just walk up to the counter and place your order, and can either keep a tab open or else just pay. Ordered a pepperoni and a side of hot honey and was FLOORED. It was HUGE, and absolutely delicious. My friend got the cheesy bread and omg. The vodka sauce was out of this world. The crust was perfectly crispy and the Wisconsin brick cheese? A YES. Was shocked to find it here Im usually a good eater but couldn't finish this. Top notch leftovers. Excellent service and just a super chill vibe. Would DEFINITELY return!

Terrible picture but really good detroit-style pizza. The burrata spicy pizza was the hit for us. The ambiance was lively, there was a singles night going on so it was pretty packed. The outdoor seating was a bit chilly even though the heaters were going. The service was super fast though. Overall recommend!

You don't have to put on the Red Light to go here! In fact, green lights all the way for this place! Decided to trek here in a snowy winter day for some warm 'za and drinks! It was in the single digits outside, so I'm not entirely sure why their outdoor seating was open. I'm knocking this review down 1 star because the cold draft keep invading the warmth and lack of seating on the inside. This was definitely not what I expected. It seemed a bit too cramped for my liking. On to the main part though, the food - We ordered: Boots with the fur: 5/5 This was the perfect drink for the cold weather. It was steaming hot. The choice of glassware was interesting, but the drink was fabulous. The notes of cinnamon, clove and pomegranate combined aromatically for this beverage. Red Wing: 5/5 Another W(ing) for this place! The pizza was rather small, but since it's Detroit style it's quite filling. Although, after 2 slices I was still hungry because it was so good! The burrata combined with the oregano and parsley was such a great touch. The 2 slices of pizza were not satisfying enough so decided to order an app afterwards. Gordie Sticks: 10/5 These cheesy sticks blew my expectations out of the roof. I was fully expecting 4-5 breadsticks with a small sauce, but out came a plate of 12 cheesy sticks with creamy vodka sauce. I could just drink the sauce right up. I was eating these cheesy sticks for days and was extremely sad after they were finished. The pizza at this place is great, but the real star of the show was the Gordie sticks. A must order!

Really delicious pizza. I was walking past and it smelled so good I turned around and went in. Best decision ever! I got the GreenField pizza. It was so good!! It was actually pretty hefty and the personal took me a couple days to finish! My cousin visited from abroad and we went here for dinner, and she says it was one of the highlights of her trip! So yummy, can't wait to come back to DC for Red Light pizza!

Easy place for dinner right on 14th.You order at a windy outside and get a number and food is delivered to your table. There is also some seats inside. Got the Dearborn Heights which was crispy and delicious. One pizza serves about 2 people so keep that in mind when ordering. Also has the spinach artichoke dip which came out hot and cheesy! Cool casual place for drinks and food!

We're from MI so we can get "kinda judgy" when it comes to Detroit style pizza. RL delivers a quality pie crust, sauce, cheese, and (most importantly) the crunchy Motown corners. We ordered the OG Pepp and Motown (awesome signature pizza names BTW). The coveted crunch, sweet chunky sauce (fave), and high-end low moisture cheese was all there. Thankful that we can now get Detroit style pizzas in the nation's capital. GooooooLions!

The cheesy breadsticks are the best thing ever. Fire playlist! Fun bar tenders too! They need to get better ranch though...theirs tastes like dill, not ranch.

Red Light's pizza is absolutely delicious! I never had Detroit Style Pizza before, so I was eager to dive into their tasty menu items! It's quite spacious and has a good amount of indoor/outdoor seating. My friend and I started off with a citrusy Aperol Spritz that was lightly sweet and refreshing - just how I like it! We were sat inside next to the bar and tried two different pies. We decided on the Red Wing and Motor City. The Red Wing was phenomenal! I loved the generous helpings of parsley, fresh parmesan, and burrata (the star of the show!). The cheeses were so flavorful and packed a punch in each saucy, garlicky bite. The crust is doughy, thick, and cooked to perfection. The balsamic bound each of the cheeses and had a very vibrant taste. One slice was so filling and satisfied my pizza craving! I was so hooked on the Red Wing I didn't make my way over to the Motor City. However, my friend really enjoyed it! Excited to try it and others on my next visit. I would give the pizza and drinks 5 stars, but there were far too many issues with service. Granted we came during the afternoon of St. Patrick's Day weekend. However, it was just far too slow after we had been waiting for 30 minutes or so. It seemed that some people that came after us got their food much quicker. Additionally, we tried using the Yelp Check-In coupon for 20% off that did not indicate a specific date it had to be used, but was told it was only for weekdays. This should definitely be corrected for future use!

OMG I absolutely love this place and their pizza. Crispy crust, with lots of cheese and pepperoni and flavorful pizza sauce is the best. I phoned in an order for pickup. The place was hopping.

If you can believe it this drink was 14 dollars. The drinks were 1/5 and the service was slow. If you are going to charge me 14 dollars plus an already included 20 percent tip, at least give it to me in a glass. Drinks were super sugary and lukewarm. Disappointed, based off the reviews here I expect something completely different.

Walked past this place looking for dinner on a Saturday night and drifted back because of the smell! It wasn't super busy and we snagged a table after ordering at the counter. Note that their system adds a tip automatically to your total and the iPad will ask you to tip again but you can decline - shoutout to the cashier for letting us know that! We started with the kale caesar salad - definitely recommend for some greens and the fried shallots on top were a great touch! We split a Joe Louis pizza and I felt like that was a good choice considering you basically get a half sheet pan of pizza. Loved the ricotta! I always think the Detroit style is fascinating but I'm a Chicago native who loves a lot of crust so I'm into it. They have an enclosed patio that I think has a separate door you have to enter outside but looks like it would be awesome in the summer! Really solid spot right by U Street and all the shops!

What an...interesting experience…read more This bar sits on top of the Moxy Hotel, which is a sleek, modern spot in downtown DC. Unfortunately, getting to the rooftop was one of the most frustrating parts of the night. Access is only through the lobby, and the security team handling crowd control was completely disorganized. We were constantly being redirected with conflicting instructions: told to line up around the bar, then yelled at to move to the wall, then called to the elevator, then scolded for approaching it. It felt chaotic and unnecessarily hostile, like we were being managed instead of welcomed. To make things worse, IDs were checked multiple times (3-4 times per person) because there was no clear or centralized process. We were attending a birthday party that the venue itself had advertised on Instagram with ~75 guests expected at 9pm. When we arrived, we were told the rooftop was "closed" until 10. After waiting an hour in the lobby bar and dealing with the confusion above we finally got upstairs...only to find it already packed with people who had clearly been there for hours. The "reserved section" for our group was extremely underwhelming: a small space directly in front of a very loud DJ booth and a cold back corner where the heat lamps didn't work (and staff said there was nothing they could do). Service was just okay...no one was particularly friendly, but orders were eventually filled. The bar was oddly limited (only one beer option: Michelob Ultra), and some bartenders seemed unsure about basic drink requests (like a vodka soda with pineapple). The biggest issue came when we asked for the birthday cake we had given to staff earlier for storage. No one knew where it was. It took over 30 minutes and multiple staff members to locate it, and when we finally left for the night, the cake box was damaged beyond use with no remorse. Overall, this is much more of a crowded, club-style rooftop than a place for a planned event, dinner, or even conversation. The view is nice, but the experience didn't match the hype. If you go, expect a party vibe and minimal service and be prepared to navigate some very confusing (and inconsistent) security direction.

They gave us the two-hour heads up, which was totally fair. The outside seating area was closed off because of the weather, but honestly it didn't even rain. That didn't kill the vibe AT ALL though! We started with 4 orders of chips and guac and omg the guac had this perfect little spicy kick to it, chef's kiss! Everyone ordered something different and the carne asada was a total crowd favorite. My sister got the barbacoa tacos and was obsessed. We also got the elote with chips (didn't snap a pic but I'm STILL thinking about it). And there's this salad with strawberries and chicken that I was NOT expecting it to be that good. Now let's talk about the PALETA SHOTS - you HAVE to try these!! We kept ordering round after round. Also had some Espolón Blanco. For dessert we went all in with churros and tres leches cake and I have zero regrets. The DJ was killing it all night, playing r&b and taking requests! They even gave my cousin a birthday shoutout which made her whole night. The staff was on point, the energy was unmatched, and honestly I can't wait to come back. If you're looking for a fun spot with amazing food and good vibes, THIS IS IT! Highly recommend.

Deliciousness - 3/5 Happiness -5/5…read more This place is for drinkers as it has no food, so if you want to lift an ale (and go out for dinner before or after, or bring food in with you), this is the place to be. They have a large beer, wine, and liquor list (although not nearly as many English beers as I expected from a place called Crown & Crow). I won't deny that I wasn't a fan of either of the mixed cocktails I had, with both (including strangely a smoky drink) being too sweet. But the beer was expertly poured and the wine was a very generous serving. The prices are also more than reasonable, which is great for a DC bar. But what really elevates this place is the service. By late night, the place was jam packed. But each and every bartender was extremely friendly and they expertly worked the crowd, getting drinks served quickly (which too few places manage to do) and swiftly clearing off tables of dirty glasses. I also greatly appreciated the free goldfish that they happily dole out to the patrons. The staff made this a really good time.

The bartender in that area was friendly, but unhelpful, directing us to use the front room's bartender, even though she wasn't busy when we approached and asked for a couple of drinks. The bartender in the main room was great, he was very friendly and once he started a tab for me he said I could use the other bar too, I guess he wasn't aware the bartender at that other bar already told me she wouldn't help me. Regardless, the drinks we had were decent. For small bites, they only had gold fish crackers, I wish they would have had more to nosh on while drinking. Overall, not a bad visit.
