My friend/coworker and I traveled to Celebration Cellars recently for a nice Girls Day Out Celebration and from the moment we arrived, we were in for a special treat. Both Heather and Mike greeted us and made us feel so welcomed. First by assisting in setting up our tables and recommending how we set-up our food/snacks so that we could enjoy and also capture the great scenic views of the property. So personable right. We were both given wine tasting menus and made our selections after Heather and Mike provided an overview. Each wine we sampled was amazing and sometimes that's rare when visiting a winery. For each pouring both Mike and Heather had a story to share, and it just made you feel right at home. There are so many things that are incredibly awesome about Celebration Cellars. See below: -Heather and Mike (the dynamic duo and most personable individuals that I have ever met. We were so happy to have met them) -Location: The location and property are breathtaking. It makes you want to stay and enjoy a nice long weekend. -Pricing: The pricing for a wine tasting was incredible. The purchase of a bottle of wine was also great. No complaints! It doesn't get any better than the deals that they have. -Accommodations: One of my favorite things about this winery is the limited number of guests (approximately 30) that they will accommodate. It really allows you to enjoy your time, the scenic views, meet others and get to know the owners. I can't wait to return to Celebration Cellars. Mike and Heather are blessed and what they have created at Celebration Cellars would make anyone feel good. It's also the perfect place for some Self-Care

She graciously answered our questions and served us water, as we made our tasting selections. Michael served some of our wines and shared lots of insightful information about the wines we had selected. After our tasting, we sat outside by the fire pit for a bit and enjoyed the view. The drive up to the winery takes you off the beaten path and onto a gravel road, keep following the signs with the grapes that will lead you to the winery (a house), park in the driveway and prepare to enjoy the hospitality, view, and wine!

My then-fiancé suggested we visit Uncorked again, and when we saw a sign outside saying "free wine tasting," that was all the convincing we needed. Fast forward to what turned out to be such a fun afternoon. Somewhere between tasting the wines and conversations about how Gary left a high-flying career as an air traffic controller to start a vineyard, and how he met his wonderful wife Micki when they were just 8 years old, we knew we needed more. So naturally, we booked a private wine tasting for our honeymoon week. And what an experience. We got to meet Leo, his dog, taste some truly beautiful wines and spend a few hours just talking about life. I could say a lot about Gary's wines and the many gold and silver awards they have won, but strangely, that is not what stayed with us the most. What impressed us was Gary. His passion for life, the way he speaks about his wife, his integrity and just how grounded he is. There was nothing rehearsed or "wine tasting checklist" about the experience. It genuinely felt like spending an afternoon with an old friend who happened to have some very good wine. As newlyweds, we somehow also walked away with marriage advice, thoughts on finding balance in life, and plenty of inspiration for a future trip to Portugal, helped by the fact that Gary speaks Portuguese and clearly gave us more ideas than we needed! I have been fortunate enough to do wine tastings in several places across different continents, but I do not think I have ever left one feeling quite like this. Gary is one of those wholesome people who seems to have found his light in life, and there is something quite special about being around that. If you are looking for a polished, mainstream, tick-the-box wine tasting, this probably is not it. But if you want great wine, wonderful conversation and an experience that feels personal and genuine, go and meet Gary. And yes, the wine did its job too. We are now comfortably travelling back to Lusaka, Zambia, with five bottles destined for our cellar. I think that says enough.

Our sommelier, Molly, was incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and so very friendly. She made us feel like we were old friends almost immediately and set the stage for what was to come. And that can only be described as a tasting experience that was truly sublime. All three of us truly loved every aspect of out time at the castle, from the ambience of the building itself, to the selection of wines available, and as I've already mentioned, our interaction with Molly. I'm already looking forward to our next visit!

This hidden gem is tucked away off liberty road in Frederick County. If you blink, you might miss it. I've passed this winery a few times in route to Linganore festivals, so when my cousin secured a Groupon for wine tasting, I gladly accepted the invite. We spent our Friday evening sipping away and listening to a live band. It's so quaint and pet friendly! They have a few friendly pups just waiting to meet you. Tonight was unseasonably cool for August but after the heat wave we've had it was a welcomed treat. There is plenty of seating, in open areas or under a large tent. Bring your own food! Otherwise they have some small bites (charcuterie, cheese, crackers, pizza) for purchase. The wine we tried was delicious and the sunset over the grape vines was stunning. They started out with a relatively functional interior, but with repeated visits the decoration emphasizing the owners Puerto Rican heritage has increased in complexity to make the space look vibrant instead of utilitarian. Recommend the sampler flight to get an idea of what you want to buy first: it's also a pretty inexpensive way to sample their wares. Why haven't I written a review until now is a mystery but, oh well.. Lol This past Weekend, they did something totally different. Me and my crew grew up on Essence so Saturday we converged. The forecast for severe afternoon t-storms almost made me stay home, but I've been given a lot of flack from my homies for bailing because of weather so I was determined to push through :) I'm glad that I did. It rained STRONG for about an hour in the middle of the festival, but after that, the headliner performed and cranked like it was 1990! Talk about nostalgia.. Omg!! We had a ball! Full disclosure, it was about half the normal size crowd, so I'm not sure Linganore will take that type of money loss in the future, but thanks for the memories.. I definitely needed that!!!
