Veggie, no "o's" Not bad at all (for a pizza cut in SQUARES!!!) :-)
    Valerie W.

Visiting some locals in the area, so this is a place we never would have realized existed, but so glad to have found it!! It's been a long time since I've sat myself down in the corner of a (formerly) smokey hole-in-the-wall place and felt that cozy "here I am, let's sit down, have a brew (or 3) and watch the world (or March madness, in this case) stumble by" kind of place. JUST what the doctor ordered!! This place is apparently pretty well known for its pizzas, so our party of six split three mediums plus a couple of salads. The menu appears to have a pretty good variety of the standard "bar food" staples (subs, fried this and that, etc...) and service was quick and attentive on a late Saturday afternoon. When our veggie WITHOUT olives came out LOADED with the evil greenies (my kryptonite!!) the waitress quickly apologized and put in an order for another one, sans the "o" word!! Nice place, never felt in a rush to leave, and if we were even remotely close to being in this neck of the woods again (I'd looooooooove New Paris in the springtime...!!) we'd be back!!

    Rick's philly
    Jim R.

Great place for some classic bar food. Rick's philly is a non traditional philly as it has more than just peppers, onions and cheese on it. It also comes with lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, banana peppers and red pepper relish. It's a must try if you like philly's. There are several other items that are delicious also but as you can see from other reviews they are probably best know for the pizza. I've personally never had a bad pizza from here.

Ordered the deluxe pizza. Toppings were good. I liked the green olives on it. I prefer a thinner crust.

Although this place is a rustic tavern, the pizza was phenomenal and tasted great with a tall cold draft. Friendly owner--I'll be back!

The ingredients are top quality and the chef really knows his stuff. I enjoyed one of the best pork chops ever, thick and juicy with a little pink as requested. Every bite had that little bit of crisp, little bit of fat, just right on the seasoning. My husband raved about his filet mignon which looked awesome. Pics included! Decor is a western feel, simple and understated. Lighting is just right. The whole place had a fresh and clean feel to it. There was some low volume Pandora or similar music feed of the classic light rock persuasion. Service was well above average and everything was so delicious. Check the little logo "branded" on the dinner rolls. We took home a bit of leftover which our waitress Lori kindly boxed up, and grabbed two slices of the pie of the day (German Chocolate) which we polished off at home. Most Thursdays there is prime rib and I'll be calling ahead on that on another Thursday in the not too distant future. But I get the impression that everything on the menu will be excellent. What a great addition to this area! Thank you TJ.

You have an experience that will please any pallet. I love it that they have three different barbecue sauces for you to choose from, Hot, sweet and mild. To me it lets you choose the flavors you like because one has a little more of a brown sugar taste and the other has a little more of a vinegar taste. I like to dip my sandwich. I got the visit in the evening and introduce a friend from Michigan to one of my favorite restaurants. He was so happy with a brisket. There is so much history and so many cool things to read on the walls. The decor is charming and it's an awesome place to sit and have a beer and catch up with a friend afterwards. My son got the Pulled Pork ($14.95) with 2 sides (mac n cheese, green beans). Both of these meals needed garlic bread served with them. There were 3 made in-house bbq sauces & they were all bland. Sadly, there was no Carolina gold bbq sauce. The meat was good but a little dry. Of the 3 sides we tried, the green beans were the best. I would like to return & try something on the Handhelds menu. I ordered the iced S'mores Latte and the Campfire Breakfast Skillet, and both were delicious. The coffee had a strong flavor, just the way I like it, and everything in the skillet was savory and flavorful. Both the drink and the food were beautifully prepared. The only thing I didn't enjoy as much was the two biscuits that came with the skillet. The texture wasn't quite to my liking. I generally prefer biscuits that are richer and less fluffy. That said, it was a minor issue in an otherwise excellent meal. Overall, I had a great experience here. I also enjoyed browsing the gift shop next to the restaurant and found lots of cute items that caught my eye. Since the restaurant is located right across from Lowe's, I went shopping there after breakfast. It turned out to be a wonderful start to my day!
