I've been here quite a few times and always enjoy the wings. They are really the best thing in the menu. Not small or overcooked. I prefer the bone in wings but the chunks are also great. Fried pickles are usually a big hit and the onion straws too. I've had a lot of the menu. Best wing place I've been.

Wife and I stopped in for lunch. Staff was practicing COVID-19 precautions. We were seated very quickly. It appeared that they were practicing social distancing with customers. We're giving paper menus. Our drink order was taking very quickly. We gave the server our order for appetizer and meal selection. Appetizer was served hot and as we are ordered. Mills are also served hot and as we had ordered. Our appetizer was fried pickles. That seems to be a go to for us anywhere we go they were very good. We both ordered the bourbon molasses chicken wings. Our sides were french fries and baked beans. The chicken wings in my opinion we're out of this world. Dipping sauce was an option I probably did about half. These are delicious without the sauce. We will definitely go back to Fricker's. And honestly I probably will get the bourbon molasses chicken wings again. Good job Fricker's

Not bad at all and a great price half slab of ribs and 6 wings for 17 with fries, slaw and a roll. The ribs had a good char from grill but fell off the bone but had a slight funky flavor from the fat. The wings were perfectly but need a little more sauce. Service was good.

There was a hair in my pretzel bites I can't even eat all of them. Probably won't order from here again.

Great place to go for a beer with dinner. Kids eat free! If crowded, can be a little loud.

The servers were very nice and pleasant but the food was very poor; over cooked, tasteless and not fresh.

It's in the same category restaurant at Sweet Green. I think some people balk at the prices but those same people will pay more at the Old Richmond Inn for lower quality food. The main knock against Root's is the atmosphere. It has the same charm as some of the nicer auto- mechanic waiting areas I've been to. Just grey, bland, cavernous. I personally care most about the food so the atmosphere doesn't bother me as much. But I think it hurts their image when they'r charging "premium lunch" prices and the interior can't even match the vibe of like a chipotle or sweetgrass, which they are most comparable to. (Not saying they need to be the same as chipotle or sweetgrass)

Not worth the detour. We were heading past Richmond on a road trip looking for something better…read morethan fast food. We took a 30 minute detour to try out Roots Bistro and it was very disappointing. The girl at the counter seemed genuinely depressed and disinterested in helping us. There were menu photos online of salads and panini and mac and cheese bowls, but none of those were available. I did a build your own bowl with salad greens as the base and I had to eat around out clumps of black wilted salad leaves (I'm pretty sure it was a bagged spring mix that was starting to go bad). I wish we had gone to Smoothie King next door.

I had the cheese bread, which is incredible. (It's so difficult to choose between the cheese bread and the pretzel.) I tried the wrath burger. It was good and would have been even better if I had gone with the egg sunny side up instead of fries. The fries are out of this world. I'd make the hour drive just for them.

There is no 'meat taste' at all so get in here and give these a try. I had a feeling I would love it and I did. It's a large yet cozy venue with the number 5 featured prominently in assorted art as well as on the tables. The building is historic, lots of wood, brick and brass railings plus a stunning Victorian bar back. We ate at the bar which was very comfortable. Little sliding wooden trays to make it convenient for eating, then just move them out of the way when you're done. They have 10 or so craft beers on tap and a full bar. We had the opportunity to sample a couple brews and we both enjoyed our beer choices and the food. Prices were fair, and tax is included in the menu price. I really want to shout out our bartender/server. Didn't get her name but she had round glasses with eyeglass chain attached and was on the shorter side. She was very customer focused, answering all our first-timer questions, attentive, appropriately conversational, and definitely on the ball as she was handling tables too. Top notch service. About those railings: unless there's a special back entrance, the venue may not be wheelchair accessible. There are two or three steps at the entrance, and if you want the bar instead of booth or table, another three or four. Both have sturdy solid handrails. I do not fault them for this; probably the historic building is exempt, but just wanted to note it for anyone needing that info. All in all a five star experience and I hope to return soon.
