We stayed 2 nights and as soon as we arrived we wished we had booked a third night. Amazing property and views. Lots of space to roam and enjoy the sunset. Had dinner at the restaurant our second night and thought it was very good. Yes, a little pricey but we expected that going in and it wasn't anything too crazy. The only wine by the glass is their own winery which was meh but not too bad. They have a really neat movie museum below the main building which was a cool added feature. The water is horrible and left my hair feeling like I'd been swimming in the ocean. That said, they have great filtered water in the bathroom and kitchen so other than the crusty hair situation it wasn't too bad. All in all we can't wait to go back to this beautiful place. read more

This is a great place to stay, although it was out of the way for us, our party was happy to have stayed there. It's right on the Colorado river. All the rooms are built such that your back patio has access and overlooks the river. There are many activities at this lodge, make sure to arrive early enough to take advantage of the facilities. Unfortunately, we only stayed one night, exhausted from the heat and starving so we didn't get to enjoy the lodge before it got dark outside. By the time we had dinner, the pool and the hot tub were about to close. Upon daylight, we saw that there were horseshoes and many other fun activities for adults and kids. We saw that there was a a farm on our way in, but didn't see them the next morning before we continued onto our journey. The hubby and I stayed in the King Mini Suite and the rest of our party stayed in the Queen Queen. Our mini suite was closer to the main lodge and restaurant. It was basically a studio with a full kitchen (not that we got to use it). If you wake up early enough you can see the sun rise from your room. It was a spectacular sight. I woke up the rest of our party, they looked out their balcony and didn't see the sun, so they ran over to our room and witnessed the remainder of the sunrise. Just for that view alone, it was worth the detour. Our other party was quite happy with the Queen Queen room, which turned out to be a cabin with two separate bed rooms and a living room. They didn't want to leave their little "house". Outside their balcony, their part of the Colorado was the beginning of some white water. We climbed on some the rocks before leaving that morning. The only complaint about this place is the water is disgusting! The tap water that comes out of the sink and bathtub was salty. They tell you not to drink it, but unfortunately it you were washing the gunk off your face, your lips will come in touch with it. My hair felt nasty the whole day after washing with the water. Me thinks it may just be water straight from the Colorado, but who knows? There is separate faucet for drinking water which was okay, supposedly its well water filtered by reverse osmosis. --- Restaurant Dinner was okay. A few of us got overcooked steaks, which was a disappointment since the outdoor views from the restaurant were amazing. We got to see the sunset while enjoying a glass of wine. Server was hard to flag down, but she came by often enough for us to get what we needed. Breakfast buffet: I believe it was $12 a person. As one person mentioned, it seemed like a mish-mash of legitimate food with some shortcuts. I wasn't terribly impressed by the hot buffet, but our party was happy with the pastries. read more

Wife and I stayed here in July 2021 and had a room, visited the winery, and ate dinner at their restaurant. The room was a bit dated but definitely southwestern decor, and the in-window ac unit was very loud and annoying as it ran all night long. For $267 a night I'd expect a little nicer place, but it was clean and the front staff was very nice. Great atmosphere outside as well. Winery was subpar with three wines at a $1 per taste. Wasn't our best wine experience and left a lot to be desired. Although, we did purchase a bottle they could boost their service and desire to serve a bit. Just blah service. Dinner was okay, nothing special. I guess I would stay again if needed and only at a cheaper rate if available. read more

I was here for a work conference and the view is truly amazing. Breathtakingly beautiful. Most of the rooms are right against some body of water (in my case, it was the Colorado river), so you can wake up, jump off your patio wall and just walk along the river banks. Which is pretty amazing. That said, this is not necessarily a hotel I'd recommend for most business travelers. There is literally nothing you can eat here that will not put you past the state per diem. Breakfast was $10.95 and dinner... Well, I ended up not being able to afford dinner on my per diem, so I just drank some of the water I had stashed in my car. The rooms are certainly beautiful and are like little apartments, with separate bathroom areas, a raised bedroom area and kitchenettes on the bottom area. I mention the kitchenettes because they are definitely your best bet if you don't want to blow your budget. The lodge is about 30 minutes from a grocery store, so stock up on provisions before you get there. That said, it's not a great hotel if you're ridiculously anxious, like me. As I said, you can jump off your patio wall and be out in the wilderness. Which means that other people can jump into your room. Theoretically. And the keys are old and weird. So that's a concern. And the rooms are NOT soundproof. I spent a night tossing and turning, waking up at every sound, convinced someone was going to break in and kill me. The multiple missing persons posters in the main lodge did not help. Other than the fact that it's expensive, a little out of the way, and possible safety issues exist, it's awesome. Super beautiful. The staff was passably nice. The food was nothing special, but it was definitely edible. If this had been a leisure trip and I'd been with other people, I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more. read more

The prices are wicked high for what they're serving, but if you're coming to Moab, you're generally not going to find cheap eats for dinner. Overall, the view made it tolerable. This was a perfect spot for us. We pulled in and they didn't have any rooms with a king bed, so they gave us a cabin with a king bed for the same price as a room. This is a gorgeous place. We brewed our coffee and watched the sun come up on the cliffs along the Colorado River. Later in the afternoon you can sit on your deck and wave at the folks floating by on river rafting trips. We LOVED it. The one drag is that it is a little ways from Moab and I didn't think the food at the on site restaurant was very good (the views however are breath taking!). read more

The staff were friendly and the scenery is second to none, but that where it stops. The shower water caused my wife face to turn red due the salt in the water. No cell service and WiFi is limited, during the evening when everyone is back in the rooms the WiFi service even worse. We had rolling bars across all of the limited TV channels of which were a total of 23 channels. We found the beds to be very uncomfortable and hard. Our third night we moved to another hotel and the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Fifteen miles from Moab so its a thirty mile trek if you need something that their limit shop does not offer. For the price of $300.00 per night I will look elsewhere in the event I ever return to the area. We did buy a case of wine as its priced right compared to many other wineries we have been too. read more

I've been here a lot and the steaks, wines and chicken pasta have always been superb. The service is friendly, and it's best to have a reservation as the place is well known. The view is stunning and I love sitting inside in a booth or outside. The lamb chops were tasteless and they only give you 2 chops so I don't recommend those but the scallops are perfect as an appetizer! Go for the view alone! read more

This is a great resort. The view alone is well worth the money! We stayed in a queen riverside suite. It was very comfortable and clean. The back sliding door opened up to a patio and a fantastic view of the cliffs. There's partitions between the patios for every room, so you don't feel crowded if others are sitting out on their patio, too. It further opens up into a back yard. The bed covers and couch cushions could stand to be replaced, but that's really the only downside I can think of as far as the rooms go. The winery offers tastings during the day and into the afternoon. They don't sell glasses, but you'll definitely want to take home a few bottles of wine anyway. There isn't a ton of different wines, but they do well with what they offer. We took a few bottles back to our room with some garlic sausage, cheese, and crackers. It was all very good. The restaurant was a little pricey for what it was. The food was good, but I still felt like we overpaid. They offer a great brunch on Sundays. Wish they had mumosas for the brunch, though! For a town that seems packed to the brim with hotels, Red Cliffs is a nice alternative off the beaten path. read more

What a beautiful place. But I'll be honest, I have never stayed here and I'm guessing I probably won't after the experience I had on the morning of Monday the 7th of May. On the way home from Moab I stopped in to ask a few questions and the check the place out. The lady at the desk with the foreign accent does not need to be talking to people. She was rude, short and condescending. Acting like she was doing me a favor by even letting me come in the lodge. Who needs to be treated like that? My new favorite place to stay in Moab... incredibly friendly service and beautiful cabin accommodations right on the Colorado river. We spent each night out on the porch drinking wine purchased at the winery on premise (monument red was my favorite!) and staring at the sky... minimal light pollution from the resort was appreciated. The cabin was fully equipped with everything needed to be comfortable in old west rustic style. Can't say enough good things. Also, the restaurant was really good and cooked my filet steak Perfectly. First time we have stayed here after all our years coming to Moab. The service and attention we received were first rate. We had a room on the river with a kitchen and pull out couch. Roomy, warm and clean. Although we enjoyed our dinner in the Cowboy Grille along with the service, our initial interaction was unpleasant and made us feel very uncomfortable. We did take a horse back ride and that was the highlight of our stay! Quiet and safe horses as well as knowledgeable and friendly wranglers. We highly recommend Red Cliffs! read more

They've got a cowboy museum in the basement- it features a short film which goes over the history of Moab, the film industry, and all the locations used in production. Can honestly say we were very surprised and sat for the whole film! You've got to check out all the memorabilia as well! It's also a working ranch, and all the cabins over look the river as well. It's not that far of a drive from Moab, or Arches National Park and they also offer horseback riding. read more

This place is an amazing retreat off the Colorado river. The room was nice but a bit crowded for 2 adults and 2 kids. The kitchen area was especially difficult to fit us all in. However, the views were absolutely breathtaking. The restaurant had the most delicious steaks, appetizers, and desserts we've ever tasted and the view out the window was absolutely stunning. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We were disappointed that there was some kind of tarring project happening outside our door. The smell was overbearing and the noise disrupted the tranquility of an otherwise peaceful patio. The windows at the top of the room do not have shades and made it a bit too bright at night (and at naptime for our kids). The cowboy theme is a little over the top but we didn't mind - it's a cowboy lodge with lots of history. In general, a wonderful place to stay. It is about 30 minutes away from the city of Moab though so bring everything you need - the gift shop is small and the restaurant requires reservations. read more

Come for the view of the Colorado River, the winery and the museum. DON'T COME FOR THE FOOD! Very disappointed, and three of us ordered - Porterhouse Steak, Half Rack of Ribs and Elk Medallions. Porterhouse steak was a 1/2 inch T Bone (after cooking), Pork ribs were hard and tasteless except for the bar b que sauce that was definitely NOT home made. Elk medallions were like 2 small steaks, grilled with sauce slapped on, not sautéed in sauce. I could've cooked better ribs at home! This is a pretty special place, and although we didn't stay here, we spent over $200 at the winery and so looked forward to the dinner. Management needs to review what's coming out of the kitchen and make some changes. We would've tried dessert except that we were informed the bread pudding had been made at least a week earlier! Service personnel were great, and VERY embarrassed over the food, so I would bet we weren't the first to complain! read more

The view of the Colorado river from the river king room was spectacular! The service was just awful. We (2 of us) went to have dinner only 5 tables full at the time and the response was NO because we didn't have a reservation and a bus load just arrived. Even though we were staying there. The bar tender saved the day and was able to get us a good steak meal. Funny thing is the woman who said NO came to ask us what we were drinking took the order for a refill, billed us and never got us the drinks. Bed was awful too. read more

I really cannot say enough about go wonderful everyone and everything is at Red Cliffs Lodge. We came here in December to use it as our base to explore Canyonlands, Arches and the myriad of state and BLM areas around Moab and Castle Valley, and it was a perfect choice. Dianna cooked us all cowboy and cowgirl breakfasts every morning, she was up and at it long before we rolled in at about 6:30, and gave us tips on hiking trails in the areas that were dead on. Both Rebecca and Dawn were there to help us find places to eat and took great care of everything for all of us, and made sure we knew the area and were simply a joy to speak with. Freddy handled security, and we never worried a bit. Summer and high tourist season is when the crowds in Moab simply get oppressive, and if you want to come to a place that will help you experience the Utah outdoors, which is absolutely magnificent, I highly recommend this place, even in summer, but We came in December, and quite frankly, cannot figure out why no one else has discovered this area in early winter. It's fantastic if you love to hike and spend time outdoors for vacation. read more

If you are looking getaway with stunning views and privacy, look no further. I booked the River Queen Two Bedroom Cabin for Easter weekend March 23-28th. Our cabin was located across from the Colorado river and we were surrounded by jaw dropping red cliffs that whistled when the wind blew against them. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the onsite restaurant, Cowboy Grill, offers a wonderful selection of foods if you want to eat on location. I tried their breakfast and dinner and was not disappointed. My nephew ordered Rocky Mountain Oysters for his Easter dinner and we all got a good laugh. There is also a museum full of history and memorabilia regarding the making of Hollywood films in the area. The housekeepers were great about stocking the cabin with fresh towels and soaps. The only downside was that the pool was covered when we arrived and we only had access to the jacuzzi. There was also a minor mistake on our final bill which only took a phone call to solve. My friends and I went horseback riding at Red Cliffs and had an incredible experience. The wranglers, Margo, Liz and Devon, were very friendly and welcoming. They gave us a great orientation and we felt more than comfortable riding the beautiful horses through the cliffside. Well worth the money, it was truly unforgettable. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone interesting in horseback riding near Moab. read more

5 star location! Stunning views! If you are hiking Arches, it doesn't get better than this. Rooms come with a kitchenette, with a balcony that opens up to front-row views of tranquil surroundings. The rooms are well appointed and large, decorated in charming country decor. While town is a bit of a drive out, the front desk has a little shoppe with necessities and beverages. Given my after-hours very late evening check-in, I was greeted by a friendly nighttime security guard who showed us to our room and provided a helpful overview of the facility. And I was impressed by the check-in process: It turns out there was an issue with my credit card number being changed, but the security guard let us get to our room, and we were invited to stop by the front desk in the morning to work out the payment details. Very nice that they let me get some well-deserved sleep after a very long drive from Vegas and defer the paperwork until the morning! Overall, I am very pleased that I stayed here and would definitely return again. Some areas for improvement is that the electricity flickers at night, so I'd recommend bringing a surge protector if you have any computer equipment. The restaurant was only okay. The local wine and food was unimpressive--but that was just coming from several days of fine dining in Vegas. Service was insipid and inflexible with substitutions at dinner. Breakfast is served buffet style, and the servers literally did nothing. How about refilling customers water and coffee instead of hovering around purposelessly? For the 3 things that matter most--location, location, location--this place can't be beat. read more

This place is gorgeous! We had a lower-priced creekside room rather than a river view, and it was quite charming. It is very secluded and right in the middle of huge cliffs on the Colorado River. It has a rustic western feel. The dining room has sweeping views of the cliffs and river. I didn't mind that it was 14 miles from town because the drive into town was breathtaking! And the hotels in town were not very charming and although convenient did not have that serene "in the middle of nature" feel that this place has. The room was simple, but very roomy. It had a cute western theme. It had high ceilings, but not many windows, so it was dark. The bathroom was in good shape with pretty rustic-shaped bright blue tile. The pool was quite large, very simply appointed, but had a gorgeous view of a huge red cliff across the river. I wish they'd provided a jug of ice water at the pool though. The food is adequate, but not great. The $10 buffet breakfast offered the basics, eggs, cereal, yougurt, but I wasn't thrilled with canned fruit and very watery coffee. The food in town is much, much better. (Peace Train is great for bfast/lunch) You could bring groceries for a simple breakfast in the room (which has small fridge, small coffee maker and micro) We did the horseback ride offered by Red Cliff's, which I would not recommend. It was crowded (20 ppl), very slow, start&stop and treacherous terrain for the horses. More important than the cost, we spent precious time, which would have much better been used to do a hike. Also, the front desk staff, although very friendly, isn't all that proactive or knowledgeable about activities/restaurants/etc. They booked some activities on our behalf and didn't give us enough information about them. I got a blank stare when asked for restaurant recommendations in town. The location and views here are so spectacular that I would definately stay here again if I came back and just be smarter about it now that I know. read more

I loved this lodge. It is rustic and comfortable, and the views are spectacular. Everyone that works there is super nice, and accommodating. The rooms have all the amenities you could want. Wine glasses, wine opener, dishes, a coffee maker, toiletries, hairdryer, etc. We went to the winery and bought wine, cheese, crackers and olives and made a lovely pre-dinner spread on out back patio. This place is meant to be a rustic lodge, so this isn't the Four Seasons. But it is so lovely! One of my favorite vacation stays in a long time! read more

I am planning an anniversary weekend in Moab for my boyfriend and I. I called to set up dinner reservations to sit on the restaurant deck to enjoy the sights at the most optimal time sunset. The woman who took my reservation told me she could not accommodate this request that I would be sat where the hostess chose to sit me. I asked what the best way was to ensure I could get a deck seat and explained that I wanted it to be special for my anniversary, she responded "none, I would have to come at my reservation and take what was available." I wanted this night to be special and planned on booking lodging at Red Cliff's for the weekend. After this experience I think I will look elsewhere with better service to ensure my trip and anniversary is special event. read more
