Red Cliffs lodge is amazing. We brought our friends from Ohio and they thought this place compared to their best experiences in Europe . But, the restaurant was a let down. After all the hype, Red Cliffs restaurant did not come close to expectations. I had the special of the evening - filet mignon topped with crab with a balsamic reduction sauce. I should have known better. Crab and balsamic vinegar doesn't mix. And the filet was tough...not what I expected. My wife had the catfish which was dry and tasteless. I know they can do better. Service was great, but I think the chef must have been trying t hard to impress the patrons. Keep it simple, use the best ingredients, and let the location and ambiance guide the meal. I know they can do, and should do, better. But not this time. read more

Sitting along side the Colorado River this lodge is like a village in itself ( especially if you arrive after dark). We stayed in a twin queen room 2 nights and they adequate albeit relatively basic but most importantly - they are clean. Our third night we were moved to a 2 bedroom cabin on the river - absolutely awesome and very relaxing ... Albeit $100 extra per night. The restaurant was OK - nothing to write home about. My wife and kids (20 and 17) and I stayed here for two nights and it was spectacular!! The Lodge is situated on a majestic bend in the Colorado River, which the restaurant overlooks. We stayed in a two bedroom queen cabin located right on the river. We greatly enjoyed our dinner and breakfasts taking in the vista! There is a pool and hot tub as well as a small gym. The service was great (front desk, servers, etc), the food was delicious, but NOTHING beats the location!! Do yourself a favor, enjoy the amazing 15 mile river side drive in from Moab and stay here!! read more

I don't write reviews but I just had to for this one. This place seems to tout itself as the gem of Moab, and indeed, it is likely nicer than many of the other hotels in the area, which isn't saying much. But for this price you would think it would be just a bit more polished. Rooms have great views, all have private patios just steps from the river. Beds are nice enough, as you would expect from a Holiday Inn or Best Western. However, it's priced like a Four Seasons. Bathrooms are smallish, tap water is atrocious. Just salty and leaves you dry, but they have purified water faucets for brushing teeth and drinking. This place gets the job done, but that's about it. Expensive for what it really is. I know that lodging is a premium here especially in the high season, but in hindsight I would have paid for the overpriced Best Western in town, it's just lodging when you come down to it. Plus it would be in town, so when I discover the toilet water coming out of the faucet, it would be easy enough to purchase water from the grocery store. read more

If you are a real redneck, with a pickup up truck and have a horse or two, and not much money to live on.... but you have a girl who you want to impress, and take her to a "real nice" place to propose, and you get one of those off season off weekend rates... then this is the place for you! Everyone else will find this place a little rustic, outdated, and overpriced. Mattress is cheap, box spring not covered, couch dusty, outlets loose, had to use a wire to connect laptop to the internet because the wireless is too weak... and the wired connection is still slow. This truly is a luxury motel on a dude ranch. That's motel, not hotel. But the location is pretty good. The drive to this place is beautiful during the day, although a little difficult at night. read more

This is place is amazing. We stayed here during off season and the views were incredible. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, but the accommodations and lodge like atmosphere were cool. Bed could have been a bit softer and an extra blanket would have been nice, but the views and the ambiance raise it to 5 stars. I don't often repeat the same place twice, but if I were to come back to Utah, I would definitely stay here. It is about at 25 min drive to Moab so the only tough thing is going out to dinner and having to pick a designated driver, but still worth it for the peace and serenity. read more

We love our roomy room, especially after staying at a smaller place. The breakfast is okay, with not a loot of selections, yet the cut fruit were fresh. The take out lunch was okay. We had dinner there twice, I love my pork chop, my friend's rib eye was great according to her - she finished them all, so I guess she didn't lie. Either out-law red blend or the cab from the winery were okay, I'd think the cab is better than the outlaw red though. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights and loved it. We had a beautiful view of the river and loved the patio. We hd dinner at the restaurant and sat outside which was really nice. The food was good but the breakfast buffet was great (cost additional $10.95). It is about 20-25 minutes to Moab and Arches. We did not go to the winery but the museum was worth seeing. We did have the lunch as part of a rafting trip In the Pavilion and thought it was really good. We loved hearing the history of the property also. I wish we had more time to enjoy the property. It's a beautiful place--on a big spread, gorgeous views. Price is pretty reasonable, rooms nice. Problem is it's a long way from town--25 min to downtown Moab. But, I'd definitely go back. Real nice people. Breakfast was good. Menu for dinner pretty safe/we ate elsewhere. read more

14 miles from Moab and isolated. The entire place feels like a ranch. There are many lodges but they aren't particularly nice inside. Awoken early in the morning by the cleaning crew opening our door. There werent even any signs for privacy available. If you are traveling to Moab, stay somewhere nicer and closer to all the action or at least find a spot to save some money. this place might be nicest for people who want to bundle a trip and pay for everything at once but you will get a far better deal and have a better time in town. read more

You cannot beat the location and the views. So glad we stayed here. The setting is so peaceful and away from the noise of Moab. Each room has an outdoor space; ours faced a stream and a view of the pasture where the horses grazed. We stayed two nights only but could have moved into there for a week. Great kitchen area in the room so we were able to provide for ourselves and not need dinner reservations both nights. Restaurant was a little pricy to eat at every night. Did not try the breakfast for the same reason. Pack your own goodies and eat in your room. read more

The Pros: Spacious room (King Suite) with patio a few feet from the Colorado River - spectacular views. Very friendly staff that are always willing to help out. Great location if you want to get away from it all. The Cons: At the time of booking we were told that we could visit the winery and book horseback rides upon arrival. Upon arrival however, we learned that both were not "yet running." This was very disappointing. At least the restaurant was open (it opened that day!). I would recommend that staff advise what is open/running and what is not - uhm, perhaps accurately as this lodge is located several miles from Moab. I would return.... read more

Took the family to Moab and stayed at the Red Cliffs. Great experience. We had a queen cottage on the river. Staff was great, lodge was quite nice, the restaurant was good. Understanding your in Moab the Red Cliffs is a keeper. They were very accommodating scheduling stuff to do and I have to say really enjoyed the cottage on the Colorado. Amazing views along the Colorado river and in a canyon. Quiet and about 15 miles outside of town. The rooms are nice, spacious and clean. I only stayed 2 nights and wish I could stay longer. Tons of outdoor activities here and in the surrounding area. Ate at the restaurant and found the food delicious. Hopefully I will get back to this place. read more

I had a really great time here Mother's Day weekend. The horseback ride was awesome with great staff. The scenery is beautiful and there is so much to see off the beaten path. I will definitely be returning in the near future. I thought the restaurant had great food, not sure why there are negative reviews on it, and the prices seemed fair considering the amount of food you get. Sunday brunch was my favorite! We stayed for 2 nights in late February while visiting Arches NP. We were impressed by how well-maintained this place is. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast, which was included, was OK, especially given the low off-season rates. The location is what sells this place. It is stunning in its beauty and quietness. I have mixed feelings about this place. Yes the views are lovely, the hotel spotless and the staff friendly and attentive...but the food is lousy. Every breakfast is the same, every day was boring and tasteless. Eggs cooked hard and dry, potatoes, hard and dry, sausages fried so long they were the size as my little finger. Bacon was also fried long which I like as it makes bacon crispy.I would not eat dinner based on the breakfast Why can't RCL get it right? I can say the milk was very cold. Amen. My DH made the arrangements so I did not want to complain to him but the place is 15 miles from any starting place in Moab. Let me say it gets to be a drag very quickly doing that everyday. read more

I have stayed at Red Cliffs several times. I have stayed with family on vacation (we actually met here for Christmas), and I brought my Board of Directors here from all over the country. The staff here, from the General Manager to the ladies at the front desk, to the maids were all extremely service oriented. Scheduling activities for the group could have been a logistical nightmare for an out of towner, but Judy, the sales and catering manager helped with those arrangements and did a great job. They will do anything within their power to help make your trip enjoyable. I have had Board Meetings all over the western United States, and this was by far the most enjoyable and because of the great staff, it was the easiest to organize. In the year that I worked with Judy to organize the meeting, I never once heard the phrase, "we can't do that". The food was more than adequate. Many of my Board Members are accustomed to high quality restaurants, and there was never one complaint. The rooms are very comfortable and secure. Yes there are glass doors that go out on to a patio, but those doors lock, just like any other hotel with walk out patios. This is a fairly remote location, so if you feel the need to be in the middle of town, you might think twice about staying here. It isn't the cheapest place in Moab, (nothing in Moab is cheap) but if you want cheap, you probably won't get the great views, good food, wonderful accommodations and outstanding customer service that you get at Red Cliffs Lodge. This review is for the restaurant only - not the lodge.... The food was awful. For over $100 for four people (no appetizers, wine, drinks, or dessert), we were extremely disappointed. The Mahi-Mahi and chicken were dried out and my husband said that the ribs were the worst he has ever had. The next day, I complained to the lodge manager as the restaurant manager was not available., She gave us a voucher for breakfast the next morning. That was a nice gesture but I am still upset about spending the $100 on dinner that could have been spent at a much better restaurant in Moab. read more

I have to say I was really looking forward to staying here. Just steps away from the Colorado river and under the beautiful red rock mountains what could go wrong? This hotel has the possibility to be a 5 star but it falls short. The staff at the front desk were nice and after we received our key we headed down to our room. Rooms are small and musty with a cowboy feel to them. They have special faucets for drinking water since the water is disgusting. The towels smelled musty, just like when you forget your laundry in the washing machine for a few days. The rooms sit feet away from the river so that was special , but that was about it. My daughter loved the geckos running around and loved the horse back riding. Take the evening ride which was 1.5 hours long- not the longer afternoon one- way too hot and way too long to be sitting on the horse. The restaurant is sub par and nothing special . The staff is very nice there but the kitchen needs help. Way too expensive for the price you pay. Stay in Moab. read more

We just spent our honeymoon in Moab and stayed at the Red Cliffs Lodge for our entire stay. The property is absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in a standard River King Mini Suite, which has a king size bed, flat screen tv, small fridge, microwave, kitchen sink, and a beautiful patio overlooking the Colorado River. When we originally booked, the hotel was booked so we would have had to switch rooms halfway through the trip into a more expensive King Cabin. The day before we were supposed to switch, I called the front desk and the woman who answered was amazingly helpful and moved some reservations around so we could stay in our room. The movie museum on the property is pretty corny, but worth checking out if you're driving by or staying at the hotel. Probably not worth a seperate trip from town, though. The hotel is about 15 minutes from town down a windy, beautiful road following the Colorado River. It's a tough drive when you're tired and if you drive it at night, the lights from the Canyonlands By Night truck is absolutely blinding. Based on the reviews, we did not try the restaurant at the hotel. The pool was amazing. We swam here every night when we got home and some mornings before we left for the day. At night, the bats swoop overhead, skimming the water for dinner. It was a little startling at first, but you get used to it. There is also a hot tub, which is small, but nice. With the exception of the woman who helped us with the room switch, the staff was pretty underwhelming. Not one was especially polite or seemed very happy. They weren't rude, just kind of indifferent. I would say that was the only black mark on an otherwise wonderful stay. read more

This is a blast!! We stayed 5/20-5/22 in a queen cabin. The cabin was perfect, comfy beds, comfy sofa bed, everything was comfy! The kitchenette was well stocked and the coffee they supplied is really tasty! We had cookies waiting in the cabin when we checked in and they were awesome! The swimming pool is big and clean, but a tad cold because it's the desert. The hot tub more than made up for feeling chilly in the pool hahahaha. We ordered take out from the restaurant and the food was great and presented so nicely for being take out. (real plates, etc!) The hotel is right on the river and has some of the most amazing views!! read more

Like other reviewers comments, Red Cliffs Lodge has the great view and friendly staff. My boyfriend and I made a last minute decision to go for a weekend getaway in Moab. He did a research on the hotel on website and found out Red Cliffs Lodge has the great reviews. So he made a reservation online. On our way from Salt Lake City to Moab, my boyfriend called them and requested a room that has the river view. The staff that he spoke over the phone has upgraded our room to deluxe room which the room is right next to Colorado River without any addition charge. We figured it wasn't a peak season for them and it was very sweet and nice of them to upgrade our room. Next morning,we had a breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant.The breakfast buffet is $10 each. The food was good. They served juices,coffee,bagels,breads,bacons and eggs and more. We enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would suggest is I hope they provide indoor disposable sandals for their guests since the floor in the room and bathroom were little dusty and sandy. The room that we stay,there were a few broken bulbs. I hope they notice them and fix them for their next guests. read more

We stayed off season and there were only a handful of guests. It is a bit of a drive to the Arches but the drive is beautiful. It is a lovely place to stay. The rooms have a sitting/dining area with kichenette, and a patio along the Colorado River. We found the place to be relaxing and comfortable. read more

Well said by previous reviews, an amazing , relaxing and friendly place , stayed here our 4 night of six stops on our national parks tour and will say when we do this again it will be our final place to stay. Stayed for 2 nights on our way back from the Rocky mountains, if you ever come that way take the 128 route , it comes in the back way and truly amazing then to see this place was awesome , staff very friendly had very friendly hores , stayed in cabin 575 right up against the Colorado River, Beautiful view , will definitely be back, Thanks Red Cliffs , now off to Capitol Reef read more
