I picked these movers because of their good reviews. Others were cheaper but I wanted a peaceful move since my husband got sick & wouldn't be with me. Norbert & Robert were great. But the extra mover was not happy to be a mover. In front of me he complained "my back, my feet". I told him a table wasn't going to the new place. So when I saw it in the truck he said he was going to give it to someone. He didn't ask me first. I would have said yes. So I look in the truck to see what else may be there & I see a heavy saucer on top of my succulents which also weren't supposed to go on the truck. I was getting stressed & the mover instantly starts angrily yelling at me while he's walking away that he didn't do it but my mom did. In front of my neighbors. Him being so angry scared me about what he would do now. I wasn't planning to follow them to my new city but decided to drive 40 min after they left. I missed out on a treatment I needed health wise. The unhappy mover was the driver & I wonder if he drove slower to charge me more. There was traffic but they arrived way after the GPS eta that Robert showed me right before leaving. I called Norbert that I wasn't comfortable anymore & he offered to go assist. The other guy was still working though. A bathroom cleaner I left out in the old place was put in a bin where I had my essentials. I don't know who put it there but it fell & leaked, breaking my iPad & more. The move was $1200 & rounded up timewise. No discounts offered despite what happened. The owner asked if I was happy & I said yes out of people pleasing. I still tipped all 3 but in the end I spent much more and still had a stressful move. read more

I would highly recommend Red Box Moving! The owner, Norbert, contacted me directly after submitting for a quote on Yelp. He is super friendly and was able to quote my move after sending him pictures of my belongings. The end rate was exactly as quoted, so there were no surprises! What is quoted, is what you pay. Norbert will text and call with updates. They were able to get my move in about 2 hours early, which was great! Norbert showed up to my current residence personally with a few documents to sign, and then let the team go to work on loading my items. I would say it took them less than 20 minutes, 4 men and a 1BR apartment. They are super efficient. They came prepared with extra packing materials and wrapped my couch, dresser, and large mirror in protective wrap. The movers showed up to my new address 20 miles away just shortly after I did. They moved everything upstairs and asked how I wanted things arranged to place them. Mind you, I was moving from 900 square feet to 450 square feet, but they did the best they could at arranging where everything should be and did a great job! They set up the bed and asked to set up anything else, but all was good. Total time= less than 2 hours for a 1 BR move to another city. $420 flat rate. Tips for the hard working gentlemen. Norbert (owner) and his crew are unbelievable. They are all so polite, accommodating, & extremely caring in handling your items. They are also very fast. Originally we planned one move with them. Norbert came to the house, looked everything over and gave us a great quote. We booked him for our move. Then we found out we were going to have 2 weeks between moves from our old 2-story home to our new 1-story home, due to closing problems on our new home. We were so concerned about having our stuff moved multiple times & having to go in and out of storage. Someone recommended we use PODS to eliminate the extra moves. We asked Norbert if he could still handle the moves for us with the PODS and he said "No Problem!" Norbert & his crew arrived early on move day #1 and unloaded our entire 2-story home, including carefully wrapping all furniture & glass shelves, disassembling bed, dining room set, etc., in 3 hours into 2 large PODS. We couldn't believe it. Two weeks later - Our new driveway could only accommodate 1 POD at a time so move #2, Norbert and crew showed up bright & early and emptied 1st POD in 1 hour, carefully placing each box in room noted on box. Once 2nd POD was delivered 2 days later, Norbert & crew returned for move #3 bright and early again. This time, since there was furniture to be reassembled, it still only took them 1 1/2 hrs. to finish this move. Once we were fully moved in, we decided to move everything from our old storage unit to the new house as well. Norbert & crew once again to the rescue. This time they used their moving truck to handle move #4. Everything went so smoothly on all 4 moves, and nothing was damaged. They came highly recommended to us and now we would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone else looking to make a move. Seriously, they made a stressful situation stress-free! Norbert and Sam recently went out of their way to move an extra large and awkward sofa into my tiny condo, trying many different ways until they finally succeeded getting it through the doorway - I was so grateful (since this was a very expensive, custom made sofa and I was dreading the idea of having to cut it up in pieces!) - but somehow they managed to get it in, much to my relief. They are professional, fast and courteous - and they communicate their status along the way, so you never know if or when they are going to show up - you pretty much know for sure approx. what time they'll be there (very helpful for planning purposes). I was so please with this company, Norbert and his crew. It was not the hardest of moves, but they were so patient with packing up my 99 year old mother's antique 4 poster bed. The bed itself is over 100 years old, and many of the old bolts were difficult to remove and also very difficult to put back together, and he and his crew kept their patience the entire time. They moved everything in record time and nothing was broken or damaged. All the guys were just so pleasant and helpful and most of all very patient. The next morning he was at our apartment sizing up what was to be moved and quoted me a price right there, guaranteeing it would not go up. The next week, he and his crew showed up on time and immediately began moving our belongings down two flights of stairs. They were quick, handled our fragile items with care, and were friendly and courteous the entire time. When they arrived at our new home on schedule, they promptly unloaded our stuff with as much care as they had loaded it. Nothing was damaged. His guaranteed price did not go up one cent. Moving is stressful enough as it is. However, once I met Norbert and especially once he and his crew arrived and got to work, I did not have to worry one second about our belongings. When the owner of the company is also the driver of the truck moving your stuff which he also loads/unloads, you know he is committed to providing top-notch service. There are, of course, many So Fla-based movers. Some will quote you a lower price than Red Box. These same ones will also give an estimate over the phone, never bothering to see for themselves what has to be moved. My previous experience with movers like this have shown they will often change the conditions of the move, either upping the price at the last minute or delaying the arrival of your belongings. I had an awful experience with Red Box Moving Company. My husband researched moving companies and found good reviews for Red Box. Unfortunately he had a death in the immediate family and needed to go overseas unexpectedly, leaving me to handle the move. My husband told me that Norbert quoted $350-400 ("Definitely not more than 400") for a one bedroom move approximately 8 miles. I called him to confirm this quote which he did. On moving day, they arrived two hours late. During this time, myself and three friends loaded up two pickup trucks full of the fragile boxes and loose items. When Norbert arrived, I showed him what was left for them to move and that i expected the lower end of the estimate (350) given that we spent two hours of four people already loading boxes due to their lateness. They completed the entire move in 2 hours. This was quicker than I expected and fully expected to pay only $350. Much to my shock, Norbert charged me $475!!!!! He claimed that there was a truck fee of $190 in addition to the hourly rate of $109. I was shocked and stated this was not what we agreed upon. Norbert dropped the price to $420. I continued to express my disappointment and he refused to budge, asking why I was upset by $20. I told him that it's not $20, it's $70 since the price should have been $350. In the end I paid it, but I am left with a bad feeling. When my husband returned from abroad, he told me that Norbert's quote included a standard charge of one hour travel fee in addition to the time actually used. So the discrepancy was that Norbert shouldn't have charged a truck fee of $190, but only $109, in addition to the time spent moving. I feel like I was taken advantage of during a time of family crisis and I wonder if this would have happened if my husband was here. I just want to let others know of my experience and choose another moving company. read more
