Coffee, Cinnamon Roll, and Blueberry Muffin

Red Apple Cafe was... alright. Not bad, but not something I'd go out of my way for again. We spent about $26 for two cups of coffee, a cinnamon roll, and a blueberry muffin, and overall it just didn't feel worth it. The coffee was pretty mediocre, nothing memorable, especially for a place that seems known for its baked goods. The cinnamon roll was honestly disappointing. It lacked flavor and wasn't as soft or fresh as you'd hope, especially for something that should be a standout item. The one redeeming factor was the blueberry muffin, which was actually really good. Moist, flavorful, and easily the highlight of the entire visit. Overall, it's a decent stop if you're already nearby, but not worth a special trip or the price point in my opinion.

restaurant is located inside a shopping center upstairs. Not very visible from the main street. We came early on a week day and was able to get seated fairly quickly. We were immediately greeted upon walking in, and they have extended outdoor seating as well. We were seating inside and ordered pretty quick after being seated. The portions are generous here, plenty to share especially if you like to portion control like myself. I would say the food is decent but presentation is not the best. The atmosphere is loud with lots of close tables next to each other. The servers were nice and checked on us several times. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

We spent some time in the Aptos and Capitola area and found this gem. It is tucked back in a shopping center and is well worth the visit or two! We ended up going three times because we loved it so much. We had chicken fried steak and egg dish with a biscuit and gravy. Chefs kiss! The carnitas Benedict special was also wonderful. It was filled with of flavor and perfectly seasoned. The stuffed bear claw and the pecan waffles were also so good. Nothing disappointed us. The service was good and we dined outside one day (pictures are under the red umbrellas) and inside two times. They have counter seating or table seating inside. Overall when we are back in the area we will definitely be back. We love a good breakfast spot - especially local and unique spots so this was a win!

Found in the DeerPark shopping center. Place has been around a while and they have a decent local following. Prices are average, portions are big. Service is nice and they are on it. There's a lot on the menu. Ordered chicken fried steak with over easy eggs and biscuit/gravy. While the steak was good, along with the eggs being great. The "homemade" biscuit was dry and the gravy looked old. Like premade. Home fry potatoes are plentiful and taste good. Overall just average. Carpet is absolutely disgusting and worth at least -1 star. Understandably there is carpet given the high wood ceilings but if carpet is the desired flooring it will need to be changed, not just cleaned, like once a year. Can not only see it but smell it.

Once again, so good!!! My dad is visiting and he wanted to try a different place for breakfast. We decided to come here because the portions that they serve are perfect! Plus we love the food! Thanks to Liam, our attentive server, for the excellent service! Thanks to the the cooks, you guys are rocking it!!

I was really in the mood for a cinnamon roll and was pleased to see they had it on their menu. While their chai latte was great the cinnamon roll was not good unfortunately. Refrigerated and heated up but not even warm, very disappointed.

Eggs over with country potatoes. I subbed the toast for a biscuit and gravy.

I really enjoyed my time at the Red Apple Cafe. These are the type of restaurants that I like to support. They have a great outside dining area, but we chose to eat inside. I loved the rustic ambiance of this cafe. Our service was fantastic. I got eggs over easy with country potatoes. The country potatoes are the best I have ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. They overcooked one of the eggs a bit, but that's ok. Next time I will remember to get Sunny-side up. I got a biscuit and gravy and it was so darn good. The mini pancakes are not mini at all. They were cooked to perfection as well. When I am in Aptos for breakfast or brunch, I will come here again.

Fantastic service, delicious breakfast potatoes and loved their thick bacon! Note: this is upstairs and the escalator was not working.

not really a crowded morning but service was okay, the food was pretty decent, the french toast tasted like plane bread and syrup.

My place in Aptos! Breakfast is fantastic and nice to sit outside. Only negative is it being hidden away and up a flight if steps.

(The meat pie and pastry we ordered were not warmed all the way, but the bagel was good) Then inside seating area was also sticky and slightly dirty looking. Our second visit was yesterday 6/20, and it sounds like we weren't the only unhappy customers based on other reviews. I'm not surprised to hear the lady in charge that morning rudely made customers leave because she "needed a reset". We asked about getting pizza around 10:45 am, which we acknowledged was early...but just asking to see what was possible. Instead of a real explanation, we got a snarky look at her watch and just an "um, noooo" with a bad attitude. If there was a real reason, like the dough wasn't ready or the oven wasn't on (it was, we could see the flames) I would understand. However, the lady was complaining to a coworker about an issue with the manager or something while we waited in line so there was already some unprofessional behavior beyond the lack of customer service. We left without getting anything at that point. We won't be back to Venus, The Pixie Deli down the street has good food and friendly service.

We ordered a raspberry "pop tart" (filled pastry with frosting), plain croissant, and avocado toast. All were very good. Their fresh breakfast sandwiches "weren't available yet" (not sure what that meant) and the avocado toast did take a while to make. Service: Service was a little aloof but fine. They were in the middle of making sandwiches, which did look appetizing. Got in line at a perfect time because it quickly grew behind me. I always go with the basics... purchased a true French baguette, and a delicious looking chocolate chip cookie. Solid 4 stars for the French baguette. Great crispy crust, nice airy inside, not dense at all. Awesome for dipping in coffee. My only downside is the price. $6 for a French baguette... why? I'm waiting to see if it gives me any super powers. As for the chocolate chip cookie... perfect example of how looks can be deceiving. I know it's all preference, but it was just a basic cookie. No sea salt added for that something extra and no browned butter to be found. Just an ordinary, overly priced cookie. Sadly, does not win a spot for my top 5. Also, the gentleman at the counter was pretty frigid. Maybe a bad morning? Perhaps that's his personality. Who knows, but I wouldn't expect much at the counter as far as hospitality goes.
