    Spicy egg biscuit sandwich
    Sarah C.

Ivéta has the BEST scones. 5 star scones. So moist. Yet crumbly. How do they do it? Their other food is good too. Coffee is also good. Portions are small. This space is surprising because it's in a mostly industrial area, but they actually have a rather pleasant outdoor patio. (And indoor tables too). I think the lack of 5th star really is the price. It's spendy. And yes it is good, but still feels a bit much.

    Breakfast burrito

The cafe is hard to spot off Delaware, but the directions were accurate and there were several available parking places. The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating, which seemed clean and well cared for. Music was playing at a comfortable volume and the layout seemed well thought out, with a long bar and sets of tables for two people to sit comfortably. They have decaf expresso, but not a large range of decaf options, and a selection of baked goods. Food arrived in good time and ordering was easy. Water was available to self collect and the cups were clean. The food was decent, but unremarkable. The chipotle burrito is cheese, eggs, and pan fried potato. The breakfast burrito is egg, spinach, and some tomato, like an omelette in burrito form. Despite being a perfectly decent cafe, it's location means it's up against some tough comparisons from Verve, Cat and Cloud, and 11th Hour. I think the food and drink of Cat and Cloud are superior, but I would consider Iveta for the atmosphere, as I found the seating and music volume more comfortable.

I love Iveta! Their pasties and baked goods are the best in Santa Cruz! I also love their breakfast items but typically opt for sweets. Their coffee is the best too and is made with an extra kick for those slow morning. I love the take home scone mix as well, tastes just like in store and even better when they're fresh out the oven. The service is great. Always quick and welcoming. There are so many seating options but my favorite is upstairs or outside.

super cute cafe & bakery with a chill vibe. Two floors of seating indoors as well as outdoor patio.

Spicy Biscuit Sandwich & Lox Toast
    Chandra R.

I found this place on Yelp and decided to stop by for a quick bite to eat before heading to the beach. We ordered the Lox Toast, Spicy Biscuit Sandwich, Scrambled Egg Sandwich with Bacon, Strawberry lemonade and a Salted Caramel Latte. Pros: -Lox Toast & Sandwiches we're delicious (clean and simple ingredients always taste amazing together) -Staff was friendly -Lots of outdoor seating Cons: -The service was pretty slow (waited over 25 minutes for our toast/sandwiches) and I saw a lot of staff just standing there sipping their coffee drinks and on their phones while they were working. -The strawberry lemonade tasted like plain ice water with barely a squeeze of lemon which was basically from the sliced chunks of lemons in the drink. There was a light pink tinge from whatever strawberry purée they may have put in there but you could not taste the strawberry or any sweetness at all. -The Salted Caramel Latte did not have any sweetness either and had only a salty taste. I did not taste any caramel at all. I would come back for the sandwiches but the drinks were not what I expected them to be.

There's also outdoor seating, which is perfect if you want to catch some sun and enjoy your food. We originally found this spot on Yelp (and saw it all over TikTok), so expectations were definitely high and it didn't disappoint. My wife and I were on the hunt for the perfect beach sandwich, and this was exactly that. I went with the chicken parmesan sandwich... and wow. The cheese pull alone was worth it!! We took our food to the beach, paired it with a cold adult beverage and some BBQ kettle chips, and it absolutely hit the spot. Definitely a place worth checking out if you're in Santa Cruz and craving a solid sandwich.

The very next day, we ordered the exact same thing, and they came on what looked like half a slice of bread. There was absolutely no consistency in the portion size. To make matters worse, we were charged $16 for two kids' grilled cheeses on the second visit, yet the day before we paid only $10 for what appeared to be a larger portion. Paying more for less made no sense. What was most disappointing, though, was the customer service. The employees were incredibly rude and acted as if we were an inconvenience instead of paying customers. Rather than answering our questions or addressing our concerns professionally, they were dismissive and made us feel unwelcome. We gave this place a second chance, hoping our first experience was just an off day, but it ended up being even worse. Between the inconsistent portions, confusing pricing, and poor customer service, we won't be returning and can't recommend this place to others.

Only my visit I tried the Nashville Style Coleslaw Sando and it was fantastic. The spice from the Nashville seasoning paired great with the cooling nature of the coleslaw. They're a chicken place and they definitely nailed that. My only complaint here is that while there was no line like others have said in reviews, there appeared to be only one person running the entire place from ordering to cooking to handing out orders. That meant there were times when no one was there to take orders or hand them out. Both times I went I had to wait around a bit for the employee to show up to help me out. I get that they're trying to keep the overhead down, but I wish they had one person just working the door/counter. Maybe on weekends they're better staffed, but on the night we were there, you definitely felt the need for more workers. In all, I'm so glad I pulled an audible and came here instead of the other stall we were planning on going. This was one of the best chicken sandwiches I have had in a long time. All the flavors paired well together, the flavors were fantastic without being overpowering, and the portions were right on. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area.

The ambience of the restaurant was very nice we did go a little between dinner and lunch in the afternoon but there were still quite a few people milling around. It was very clean and each booth was separated so you could hear yourself talk; it wasn't an open floor plan. There was outdoor seating as well, which was more of an open floor plan. The food was great. They had many different sizes of sandwiches. We got the three-inch, which was more than enough for us. I got the three-inch Santa Cruz, it's a cold sandwich, but there was very little fat on the pastrami. I also got a cup of clam chowder which had a little bit of bacon on top of-fantastic. The sandwich was fantastic and just the perfect size for a soup and salad combination. My wife got the skinny dipper just without mayonnaise and onions, but it had Au jus on the side. She said it also tasted fantastic and she got the chicken poblano soup. Both soups came with bread, thinly sliced small pieces of bread but they were fantastic with the soup. She had a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, and I had one of their specialty beers. In all ohh the meal was fantastic. Couldn't have asked for a better spot in downtown Santa Cruz you've got to try this, it is fantastic, the food is great, the prices are reasonable and the soups are homemade. The ambience or the vibe as they say nowadays, was very calming. There are other locations. You might want to see if there's one nearer to you, but I can't guarantee it will have the same vibe as Santa Cruz did.

I had a pastrami sandwich there once before and it was pretty good, so figured this would do. Ordered the burger combo with Lentil soup. Asked for my burger medium and when it came out it was well past that and I'm pretty sure it was a frozen patty. I have frozen patties I cook at home that are great, so guessing it just wasn't very good quality to begin with. The lentil soup was flavorless and I only had a few bites before tossing out. Seasoning, a ham hock, and some aromatics would do a lot for this soup. Left feeling very disappointed as there are a bunch of more satisfying options in the area and I chose the wrong one. As I was sitting in traffic, my stomach started feeling like I ate some broken glass or something. Obviously there wasn't broken glass in the burger, just a fitting analogy. I had stomach pains for the next few hours. This is all I had eaten in like 10 hours, so I'm positive it was the burger. The woman at the counter was friendly and the place was pretty clean. I've got a pretty iron gut and it takes a lot to make it turn. Don't think I will be going back.
