Bought a $729 toilet here, couldn't get it to fit in place and they wouldn't take it back!! When I went to return it they asked me if I placed it on the wax ring and I said "yes" because I had a helper and thought he'd already placed it, but that wasn't the case. The base was free and clear of wax. On my first attempt without the wax ring, I realized I couldn't get the bolts into the slots in the floor fitting because the bolts are inside a hole in the porcelain base of the toilet and the walls on each side of the toilet leave no room to bend my wrist and get the bolts in. At that point I realized it was impossible and decided to return it. When I returned it, they asked if I had put it on the wax ring and I said yes initially, because I thought my friend had tried seating it, but he hadn't. So I returned 2 days later with the toilet, told them it hadn't been seated on the wax and they still refused to take it. Also asked me if I had the box and when I told them "no" they restated that they can't take. The box it comes in is well-made of heavy cardboard and put together with heavy staples. It's made to keep the product safe during shipping. No one can't take that box apart and keep it intact for reassembly!! It wasn't meant to be disassembled and reassembled!! Using the box as a "no return" item tells me these two guys are a pair of "scheisters". Stay away from this place and take your business elsewhere!!! Anybody want a brand new $729 unused toilet that is worthless to me!! Thanks for nothing NLB&K!!

This was the most stressful and horrible experience with this company. My wife wanted me to give it a review with 1 star, but I don't believe it's the company fault. She insisted that the company is only as good as the people who work for them, she does have her point. The story begun when we saw the ads on Facebook, we wanted to change the tub to walk-in for my mother in-law (78 years old) to walk in easier than stepping over the tub for safety. So we answered the ads and the salesman named Jacques (or Jack) came on a Saturday in August. He seemed to be nice, came with a book of all the pictures of options and the company history to sell the company. I and my wife were looking at all the options and due to high prices, we decided to go with the cheapest wall and a nice $3000 door for $13000. We used to remodel our own bathroom so we know what prices of materials were like. The door sold for $3000 is on the internet for less than $1k. But we believe the company needs to make money so they mark up. So what's the problem? Trust, we always trust people, so we signed on a tablet that Jacques had without checking what I was signing. The moral of the story is DO NOT Trust and sign anything on a tablet because it could be modified. Either this salesman had dementia or just plain wanted to cheat us for the door because on the contract (e-contract) we paid $13000 for 3 cheap wall, a cheap shower valves and a tower bar, NO DOOR. We're shocked when the guys came and installed the walk-in showers. He told us we only got the shower bar for shower curtain and no door on the work order. We're glad we only paid for half of the total estimates. The amazing thing was the we had white walls on grey bottom which we normal people would assumed Grey over Grey. Again, we didn't look at the contract and the salesman also had no logic but only had dementia. At least they finished the walls and the showers so my Mother in-law can use the shower. I was also shocked when the valves are connected to the copper water pipes with plastic pipes instead of solder copper with copper. And this is how they're going to guarantee life time. I doubt it very much, but there's nothing we can do because it's the way they do things these days. So the company coordinator asked me to sign the completion work before she create a new work order for the door although there's no door on the contract which is nice, anyone would know no one in the right mind would pay $13000 for 3 cheap walls, shower valves and bar for curtain. The salesman had never call us back to ask about the work. He denied the door was in the contract. So it took three months, we need to buy a curtain for shower, no safety bars, or shelves installed for my mother in-law to use. Then a new coordinator Destiny called and sent us a new work order with a cheap door as courtesy and not the $3000 door we ordered. She warn to send us to Collection if we don't accept the work order and pay the rest of the money. We felt scared and grateful at the same time because they gave us a door out of their good heart because the contract we signed didn't have any door in it. We accepted the cheap door and they came and installed with the safety bars and shelves and I paid the rest of the money. Until now, I have no warranty papers or anything for the life time. I'm not sure if the company exists, if it has any showrooms, or just a website I found on the internet. I'm not sure if this company actually has employees or just sub contractors they found on craigslist. These days, with technology, any company can have a great website. It doesn't matter how many stars the review has as long as the reader understand the truth. It's the results that tells the story. Do not sign on any tablet. Before you pay make sure everything is on the contract with hard copy. Do not trust any booklet that shows the company to be trustworthy because the company is only as good as the employees they hired.

I am looking to replace the countertops in my kitchen. I will definitely consider taking advantage of their reasonable prices. Keep in mind, they don't do fabrication, delivery or installation. You will need a contractor or other knowledgeable assistance to install cabinets. The various reasonably priced slabs will require a fabricator. The facility was easy to find and in a well maintained building. The displays and samples were helpful. Their selection was fantastic.

I found Michael's cabinet co here on Yelp. I was very nervous to trust such an important job to…read moresomeone I found on Yelp but I had asked around and could not find anybody to do what I wanted to fix my cabinets. They all wanted to just paint them. I wanted them restored to the original finish if at all possible. We paid a lot for these custom cabinets 20yrs ago and really wanted them to be restored to look the same. Michael came out to look at them and told me he has never tried to do work like this before but he was willing to try and felt pretty confident he could do it. If we didn't like it we could always paint them after. It was a risk I decided I wanted to take. We could not wait any longer. 2 of our most used cabinets were severely damaged with water damage - one from a hand towel that had been hanging on it for 20 yrs that would often get damp from hand washing and the other our silverware drawer. They removed all of the damaged cabinet & drawer doors (leaving behind about half of them that had no damage as they were less often used and still looked brand new) and took them to their shop in Livermore. This made the job much harder as they then had to match the color to our existing ones. In addition our kitchen has 2 different paint colors so they had to create 2 different finishes - one a stain and one a paint. Linda, an employee of Michael was in charge of the painting and stain work and the artist who did the work on my cabinets in their factory. She showed us photos along the way and then came back out to reinstall the doors plus also repair the water damage we had on baseboards and cabinet sides that weren't able to be removed. She taped everything off in our kitchen to prep and then spent 2 days refinishing all of the rest of the damage. She was very careful and caused zero problems anywhere around her work. The finished product was absolutely 5 stars - could not have gone any better. I have delayed for way too long giving Michael and Linda credit for the work she did but the benefit to that is that I can now say after over a year (finished Sept 2024) of having the refinished cabinets in my kitchen they have held up perfectly and still all look absolutely brand new (helps not having kids living at home anymore!) I would 100% recommend you to trust Michael and his team to be honest, hard working and skilled crafts people for your cabinets. I was so impressed with him, his business, Linda, and all of their work. Thank you Michael & Linda!

Brandon was very easy to communicate with over the phone and by text and he came to the house multiple times to verify measurements before the actual install. He also had us over at his shop to confirm materials and paint/stain color. Fun to see the working space and tools! Did not get any competing quotes but based on the scope of this custom build and what I know about craftsmanship hourly rates I think the price was a good value. They were able to make a normally very stressful process almost stress-free, so much so that all I had to do was say "yes or no" when it came to key decisions. The Construction & More team took lead in the painful parts of dealing with permitting, PG&E, and subcontractors. They also got us in contact with their preferred vendors to help us with discounts on appliances, finishes and other materials we needed to purchase out of pocket. Overall, I found the Construction & More team extremely professional, transparent, organized, communicative and punctual when it came to the end-to-end process. They truly helped guide us through the process so we didn't have any surprises and helped us navigate any hiccups that came up. Normally, construction companies get a bad rap of being dishonest and trying to add in hidden fees and such, but Construction & More is a truly forthcoming and hardworking group of contractors who have your best interest at heart when it comes to your project no matter how big or small. For the process itself, we began with a consultation at our home to walk through the work we wanted the Construction & More team to do. For us, it was a full renovation which included removing a kitchen wall to create an open concept kitchen & living room, adding a mud room, expanding the master bedroom, moving the front and garage doors, as well as moving the ceilings to create a more open space. After the consultation was completed, we met with Avi & Joseph at their office to discuss an estimate and timeline for the work we needed done about (6-months time, pending no delays). Avi & Joseph respected our budget and were upfront and honest of how to stay within the budget and what were non-negotiables that we needed to get done. They really helped us understand what work was critical and what were nice to have to make our living space better. Once we agreed on the work, they promptly sent over a contract for signature, created a whatsapp group for real time communication, and next steps. Overall this initial process took about a week after negotiations and contract reviews. Once construction began, the team coordinated all the work. They made sure that all moving parts were well executed while setting a realistic timeline for the work to be done. All the subcontractors and tradesmen were effectively scheduled, where there wasn't a single day where there was no work being done. I felt that the team ensured that the construction was moving swiftly and the crew was respectful of our space. The crew made sure that our home was properly locked up and cleaned up after each day's work. Additionally, all the detailed finishing work was measured and completed with precision, where all the tiles placed were measured with a laser. As a bonus, the crew was also super respectful to our neighbors which is an extra plus! If you're considering a renovation of any size, but especially a full home renovation, I could not rave more about Construction & More. What a GREAT experience we had converting our old tub/shower combo into a luxurious walker accessible shower. I am in my 80's, I sure wish I would have done this sooner. On the day of the installation Tony D. called ahead, showed up on time, and explained how the conversion is done and how long it would take. He is very methodical/organized, letting us know the water would be off for a short period to install the new shower valve and back on ASAP, and it was exactly as he said!! Tony D. took the time to answer any questions we had and included us in placement of shelves and soap dish. And as Tony D told us when he arrived at 800am, "I'll be done by 600pm", he was done actually a bit earlier. The color was based on a sample that I provided, and the sample I provided turned out being not quite the right color of white. So when the unit was installed it just didn't quite blend with the surrounding trim. Rich and the team at Segale Bros put my happiness of the project above all else and brought their painting equipment (conversion varnish) and crew to my house and redid the entire paint job (3 days of work) at no cost to me. He mentioned that he was no longer working with Kevin at the time, so Juan Carlos was just working alone. He installed the exhaust half over the stove, and half over the kitchen counter. He told me the reason why he did that, was that it was just easier to put the stove exhaust that way. I had to beg him to fix the issue, because I knew if I had to hire another handyman, it would cost a lot more to fix his mistake. He said he would fix the problem. He already punched out much of the drywall where he did the installation, at the top of the wall and at the bottom of the wall. he already made several attempts to vent the exhaust, through trial and error. He kept telling me, not to worry and that he could fix it. There are still remnants of the mistake he made, both inside and outside of the house - he initially installed the exhaust vent 12" away from where it was supposed to be! After he subcontracted some work to an electrician, and completed the installation, and after I paid him, he asked me if I wanted to see the receipts. I think he didn't expect me to say yes, but I said yes. He texted me the receipts. I noticed that he had billed me for him and his sub-contracted electrician's personal purchases. I told Juan that I noticed this, and that he could keep the money, but that I would not be using him again. I notice some recent positive reviews mentioning Juan Carlos and Kevin, but when I hired with Juan Carlos WITHOUT Kevin, it was a mistake. I also recommended them to my mom, and I think it was right before they got into a fight. The work he did at my mom's house, was messy and unprofessional. I'm really surprised he is still on yelp, and I regret giving him a high rating initially. Granted all of this shoddy work may have been because of his feud with Kevin at the time, but if you are a professional company, customers should not be affected by internal feuds.

First off, I should mention that we were in contact with Cal Bay Marbles after they reached out to us selling their tile work services. We agreed to use them for a job and shared the information and schedule with them... on the day of the job, Mission Flooring shows up on behalf of Cal Bay Marble. This was never communicated or explained to us. We were forced to use this company given the timing and need to complete this job on time. Here is how the next few weeks went with Mission Flooring: 1). Awful communication throughout the project. He would set a time and miss that time not only by multiple hours, but sometimes by days. 2). Incapable of performing his simple job and broke material costing us extra expenses on jobs 3). Left the job and abandoned it, leaving us with unfinished work and unhappy customers. He claimed his work was finished, and upon checking his work... it was done terribly. He agreed that he would come fix it and set yet another date... and then cut off 100% communication and never came back to finish his work. This has left us with yet another headache, and more money being spent on his subpar work. The image provided here was sent directly to him and he agreed it was not done properly and agreed to come back and fix this. Mind you, this was after he had already cracked one entire slab and had to come back again to replace that one. George stopped all communication at that point and never came back to finish his work. I would avoid using this company at all costs. They were referred to us by Cal Bay Marbles who also BLOCKED us on all communications after we asked them to take some accountability on referring such a terrible subcontractor.

I've worked with Farr and his team 2 times…read more First time I contacted him to replace only 2 showers in my old condo. A lot of contractors and businesses I contacted for quotes ended up either not showing up because the job was too small or they gave me outrageous quotes, but Farr was the only one to give a fair quote and a detailed scope of work. My previous roommate and I were absolutely thrilled with the final result, and the showers were a big selling point when I sold off my condo. Fast forward 2 years later and we purchased our first house which needed a lot of cosmetic renovations. Both bathrooms were very outdated with cracked tiles, smudged or old fixtures, bathtub, vanity, etc so we needed a full gut. Again Farr came out and was able to give me a competitive fair price for 2 bathroom renovations and it came out EXACTLY what I asked for, and even came back to touch up a few issues I pointed out after the job was almost complete! Picking out the materials and scheduling was a breeze and the whole process took about a month. Will continue to recommend EZ baths to anyone in the East Bay looking for a bathroom remodel!
