Incredible! I never thought I'd find pizza like this in Florence SC. The place is not fancy, badly needs updating inside. Guess what? Even as an interior designer who'd normally be offended at such a thing- I am NOT because this is the best pizza in all of South Carolina and possibly in 3 states! Firstly, the people are super friendly and they remember their customers' faces. They make the pizza right in front, so as soon as you walk in the door, you are greeted with grace, you smell the delish, and see the brick oven and the prep area. Their dough: I don't know what they do to make it like crack, but with brick oven pizza, the dough can make it or break it. This dough is the tastiest and the best texture I've had in decades. The sauce: perfect acidity on the tomato sauce; I haven't had any of their "white" sauces, so can't comment. Their pizza of the month is usually creative and is always great! I've had some combinations at Rebel that I'd never, ever think to put together. Someone has a great palate there! We generally eat at Rebel Pie once a week- and have never tired of it. Stopped by here during a weekend trip and man were we glad, the service was top notch, and the ambiance really set the expectation for how good the food was about to be. When you hear something like 's'mores pizza' you have to try it but you know 'it's probably going to be a miss' but man, 9.5/10. Really loved the pie of the month as well read more

It's a little out of the way but they offer up some mean pies. It's brick oven cooked and those that sit near the front have the satisfaction of watching your dough being tossed. When we went they weren't overly busy with eat in orders but their to go line had a steady stream of customers. They were down to a single waitress but she was hustling. We enjoyed the food as it was recommended to us by a cousin. I'm sure we will try it again next time we are in the area as well. read more

Two separate times I have ordered pizzas to-go. I arrived within the 10 minutes they told me over the phone to find my pizza cold. Asked for my pizza extra crispy (both times!!) and it comes so undercooked that I have to put it into the oven when I get home. Also they are stingy with the cheese and didn't even attempt to try to cover the pizza with it. There will not be a third trip. Rebel is an epic pizza place! They are located in a nice neighborhood strip mall, one that has some character. Upon entry, I was greeted by the crew of pizza makers working away at their wood-fired oven. I like a place that has the kitchen out front, in plain view rather than hidden behind several swinging doors. Even greater is a place that is so customer focused. They are clearly focused on doing one thing well: Pizza! There is a rotating pizza of the month, which strives to be eclectic and fun, and a wide selection of pizzas to suit every palate, from pepperoni to veg. I ordered on the spot, rather than calling in and it only took 10 min for it to be ready. They have a great system, too, whereby the order taker asks the chef how long and he provides an estimate so the customer is not frustrated by a long wait. If it's a 20 min wait, they know in advance. Right away I was impressed by the wood-fired pizza oven, front and center, cranking away. I ordered the Lombardi upon the chef's recommendation and loved it! I am usually not a fan of arugula or rosemary but this pizza was phenomenal. Though I ordered to go, I took a peek at their seating and it looked very inviting. They apparently have a good wine and beer selection. I really appreciate the quality, friendliness, and affordability of this place. Yes, they do just have individual-sized pizzas, but I have to say they are quite generous in size. It also provides the opportunity for couples or groups to sample more than one of these fine pizzas! read more

The pizza flavoring is not bad. As long as you get cheese only you're OK. When adding toppings it gets very sloppy.

What a great pizza shop! Rebel Pizza is in a nondescript strip mall that is easily missed. My wife and I enjoyed a couple of pizzas and drinks at one of their dog friendly outdoor tables. From the moment we got there, the entire staff was great- pleasant and attentive (you can easily be forgotten at an outdoor table). Food arrived quickly and the pizzas were great. They only have 12 inch "personal" sized pies but it's a great way to try a few pizzas. The pizzas are not "NY style", so if that's what you are looking for you may want to skip this place but if you want great customizable pizzas, this is the place!!! I personally would ask for my pizza a bit more well done, not that it was bad, just my preference. They have a decent beer selection too. We called ahead to make sure they could take a party of 6 on a Saturday night after being told another spot had a 2.5 hr wait. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Located in an unassuming strip mall, this restaurant is surprising! It doesn't look like much from outside but is cute inside. Their pizza menu is varied and offers something for every palette. My husband and I split the olive oil Lombardi. It was quite possibly the best pizza I've ever eaten!! The caprese salad was perfect! We were able to feed the entire family, with appetizers, for under $90! We now have a new favorite restaurant and can't wait for next trip to Florence. read more

We were passing through Florence on I-95 and decided to look for a place where we could find a good pizza locally. Thanks to good reviews, Rebel Pie was the pick. As you can imagine, having 3 kids 4 hours into an 8 hour trip, I was hopeful this would hit the spot for everyone and get us all the way home. First, excellent service. Very friendly folks at the counter, and the place was warm and welcoming. When I walked in and saw the brick oven fully fired up, I knew this was going to be good, and we were not disappointed. As with any good food, the best testimonial is the silence while everyone is eating. Aside from the occasional "this is really good!", the car was quiet. Lastly, when I read that they only had personal sized pizzas, I was bracing myself for sticker shock, but I was pleasantly surprised. Very reasonable prices and they do not skimp on toppings. I have to give them a high five! This has always been a go-to neighborhood spot, but they have also been awesome during the quarantine. Food is usually ready in ten minutes- super hot and ready to go. They laugh and joke with me as I check out. Awesome customer service! Our family has varied tastes (read: everyone gets their own pizza) and we usually have the buffalo chicken, a cheese, and a margherita pizza. Sometimes we splurge and get the s'mores pizza for dessert- SO YUMMY. It's brick oven pizza so time tour pick up well. It could sweat a little if you leave it out too long.
