Went to monster truck across the street. Restaurant is empty and we sat outside. Our waitress Kaylee came by and we wanted to order quick and head back home. We ordered small cz pizza, Greek salad and bruschetta. We asked for it all to come out at the same time. Pizza showed up in 8 minutes but not the rest of the order. How does a cooked item come out before raw food? 15 minutes later I cancelled the salad cause my son was done with pizza but we ate the bruschetta. We also asked for OJ for my son. Guess what?!?! He can't get it but I can get it if I buy a screwdriver! They don't sell on to kids. Overall my experience was horrible. No management around to even complain. Empty restaurant poor service. Long ticket times to get food. Ultimately unacceptable. Last but not least they hurried to give us the check instead of asking if we are done or wanted more. Dessert was on my agenda but I guess I will give my money to another establishment. When they say mellow mushroom they mean they must all be tripping with the spread of service at a snails pace and are unable to follow directions like bring everything out at the same time. Ignore Negative Reviews. I'm not sure why this place has so many negative reviews. I almost didn't go but was too tired to try another place and this is super close to all the hotels at Florence Center. I ordered a Great White and customized it by removing something and adding something. The pizza was AMAZING! It was cheesy and the crust was perfectly cooked and was even crisp and super hot by the time I got back to the hotel. If you're a traveler popping in for pick up be aware that they have a curbside pickup door at the side of the restaurant. They will bring it out to you. If you go in you have to go to the back of the bar in a hallway and pick it up. I recommend curbside pickup. It was Saturday night and the place was pretty full so my pizza took a little longer to be ready but it was worth it. And even with the crowd they hit it out of the ballpark. When I got there a party of 5 was standing inside the door looking at each other because nobody had greeted them yet, which was weird. It wasn't busy. I was helped pretty quickly to my carry out. The mushroom pizza with pesto sauce and jalapeño peppers was great comfort food. Salad was underwhelming. My party waited for a very long time for our food. We waited over 40mins for everyone's food to arrived, and the food were arriving at different times with 10 to 15 minutes intervals. (There was a 2hr wait for Outback and time my food came to the table, Outback Called about our table being available). One person from the party literally bit into plastic from her calzone as the manager was standing at the table. The service was terrible! I had to go to the waitress and let her know that some ppl needed refills. She also never came to clear our table with the straw wrappers and used napkins. Never check on the table or tell us how long the food was going to take. Basically only took our order and dropped off the drinks. We have been here a few times and have had a descent experience. The food has always been good. There was one occasion where service was quite slow but the food more than made up for it. NOT YESTERDAY, though. What a HORRIBLE experience. We had family in town with 2 little kids so we thought this would be a good place to take them. We went on a Saturday arriving around 6 p.m. They were not too crowded initially and we were seated right away. We started by ordering a couple of appetizers; meatballs and pretzel bites. The meatballs came out right away but were cold and the pretzel bites took 25 extra minutes. The server came by every so often and stated the pretzel bites should be "just a few minutes", which in Mellow Mushroom talk equals 25. Eventually the pretzels showed up and we placed our dinner order; 2 personal pizzas, a calzone, a steak sandwich and an avocado hoagie. And we waited.....and waited....and waited, all while 2 little kids started to get antsy as little kids would after awhile. But don't fret. Our server came by a couple of times to let us know "it would be just a few more minutes" ...... in Mellow Mushroom time. After 40 minutes of waiting, we asked for a manager. She came by and explained to us that it was their typical "hectic Saturday" and she would check on our food. Instantly she returned with the calzone and 2 personal pizzas (ironic considering we waited so long but they magically appeared after complaining)....oh and the bill which she took $10 off of for our troubles. She said she would be back with the rest of the dinners. As we stared at the congealed cheese on the pizza and calzone, we thought "well this doesn't look fresh from the oven". The calzone was cold and luckily 2 hungry kids don't care about pizza temperature or congealed cheese. When the Manager returned with the other meals, we handed her the cold calzone and the bill and said we weren't going to eat the calzone. She indicated that she would remove the calzone from the bill.....like she did us a favor. WE DIDN'T EAT IT.....you CAN'T charge someone for food they don't eat. That's not a favor. She offered to make another calzone but we didn't have an hour to spend waiting for it so one person at the table went without eating dinner. We also let her know that $10 does not compensate for 2 cold pizzas and an hour and a half spent waiting for food (appetizers and meals). We told her to do what she felt was the right thing to do with the bill. After eating, the server returned and let us know that the manager removed $15 from the bill. In our opinion, this is UNACCEPTABLE. That barely covered one sandwich. What a terrible experience. Horrible service, a barely attentive server, and a non-apologetic, excuse driven, smug Manager. Not sure if we will return. P.S. If the Manager had a better attitude and a little more concern for our ruined family dinner, I wouldn't even be writing this. In my opinion, it's the Manager's responsibility to ensure a great guest experience. She was more appalled that we weren't happy with the long wait and the cold food. read more

I have high expectations since I worked at a mellow mushroom when I was in college, but the Florence Mellow Mushroom has always met those expectations with amazing food, great service and a variety of menu options. Tonight my fiancé and I stopped by after some wedding shopping. Our server, Elijah, greeted and complimented us so we shared our day's adventure. He was prompt, incredibly nice, and respectful! After our (delicious) meal was finishing up he brought out a dessert and congratulated us on our engagement. It was so thoughtful and such a surprise. Definitely the highlight of my week! Our story! Today my husband and I were traveling from Philadelphia PA to Vero Beach FL (with our dogs). We stopped off 95S in Florence SC. We decided to order something appealing to take and eat at the hotel. Looking at the online reviews and proximity we chose the Mellow Mushroom. SO glad we did! We really enjoyed the Magic Mushroom Soup Bowl, Meatball Trio, and the Holy Shiitake pizza. Highly recommend! My husband picked up the food (they do offer delivery tho) and said the atmosphere is good - small, family friendly, not too bright, with a full bar. We hope you like it as much as we did. read more

Arrived at 1829 on a Sunday afternoon. Greeted and sat shortly after arrival. The waitress showed up shortly after that. Good start. We ordered an appetizer and drinks. When she brought the drinks, we ordered entrees. The pretzel bites showed up at 1905. They were hot. But doughy in the middle, like they hadn't been cooked thoroughly. No silverware given. I would have liked it for the pretzel bites. The pizzas came out at 19:30. They had to make more tea, before they could refill the tea The bathroom hasn't been cleaned anytime recently. The trash can is overflowing and the paper towel roll is sitting on the sink where everyone with wet hands has to tear off what they need. Our waitress was friendly and busy. But our drinks would go empty for a while. She said a lot of online orders came in at the same time and backed up the kitchen. I don't think it's fair that the frustrations are shown to the people work, so I stay nice. I order the Veg-out with Italian sausage. That is one of my favorite ways to order a pizza. You get plenty of vegetables and just enough meat protein.
