Kings abound!
Sara M.

King's Pizza is one of very few places to eat in the downtown area of Latta. We were traveling through SC & decided to stop for lunch at a non-chain restaurant. It's about 6 miles from I-95 & is worth the quick drive. You can easily see driving through "downtown" that the area is depressed & lower income. King's Pizza is well-suited in that respect: the building itself is run-down & the interior is basic & far from fancy. The decor is comical but appropriate for the name: all framed artwork & statues of Egyptian kings! I got a kick out of this. Our sweet server was accommodating & friendly. She even let me bring in my boxed leftovers that I wanted to finish for lunch. My husband & father-in-law both ordered hot sandwiches, which came with your choice of French fries or chips. I tried a bite of my husband's veggie sub & it was delicious. The bread was super fresh & soft, even after the sandwich was heated. The French fries were also hot & fresh. But my Mother-in-Law hit the jackpot with her Greek salad. It was a good-sized bowl of shredded lettuce, black olives, onions, tomatoes, anchovies, lot's of feta cheese & Greek dressing. It came with a side of soft pita bread. The single more negative aspect of the restaurant was the bathroom. It could use a deep cleaning. If you find yourself in the area & have hunger pains, forego the chains & bless this local spot with your patronage. You'll leave with a content tummy & happy heart.

Alleged roast beef sub

Ordered roast beef sub- meat was some junk, not roast beef - couldn't eat it - disgusting

About 6 miles into Latta frum tha flying J trukk stop off tha 95, this place will rock ur boots!! I had tha souvlaki grilled chikkin with a Greek salad: Mouthwatering grilled n spiced chikkin with plenty o' onions n green peppers... And a generous portion of Greek salad with cheese n olives 4 daze! Truly orgasmic in my mouth! I ordered a mini pizza cuz that's their claim to fame... Just olives, onions and garlic, this waz gr8, especially tha crust!! Not sure n dint ask if they delivered, but bobtailing over waz hassle free ... Plenty of parking Ample seating They are open til 9:30 unless it's raining n then they try to sneak out early... A top contender in authentic ethnic food! Triqxee

Bella Italy Family Italian Cuisine - Garlic bread

Seating is on two sides, and booths and tables are available. They do a large take-out business too. I was in need of some comfort food, so I went with the shrimp alfredo. It came with some garlic bread, too. I really enjoyed my dish, and the shrimp were great, and the alfredo sauce wasn't too heavy but creamy. I did get the chocolate peanut butter cake to go, but I found that it was a little dry. Service was friendly here, especially when I didn't realize you order at the table but pay at the counter. But I look forward to eating here when I am in the area again.

First off, God bless the staff that chose to brave the cold, snow and ice to come in. We got back from Florida this afternoon, so we didn't have the chance to prepare for the storm. The waitress was working her butt off and the place was packed with other desperate folks like my family. Well we ended up dining in instead of ordering pizza to go. I'm not going to lie, I had never had a good experience dining in there. Their pizza is fantastic, so is their bruschetta, but I haven't liked anything else I've tried there... until tonight. I don't know whats changed in the last couple of years, but everything we had tonight was amazing. I ordered the chicken Rosa maria and could have licked my plate clean. My eldest daughter ordered ziti alla Sicilian and she absolutely loved it. My youngest daughter ordered a cheese calzone and ate the whole thing by herself. finally, my wife had the grilled chicken with veggies and she was a fan, too. Our waitress was a sweetheart despite having to wait on the entire restaurant by herself. I hope we tipped her enough. Honestly, the only negative thing I have to say was that we sat right across from the cashier and she complained loudly the whole time to anyone who would listen about her long shift, her unreliable co-workers and being short staffed, and at one point even complained about some of the other customers. It was very off putting. But she deserves the benefit of the doubt since they were slammed with just the one waitress and cashier so I think they still more than deserve a 5* review because the food was great, the waitress was a sweetheart, and everyone working was busting their butt off and honestly anyone willing to brave the ice and cold and work a long shift for a bunch of crazies like me, deserves to be able to vent about it. I just wish we'd have chosen to sit at a different table!

Nick is an absolute legend!…read more We came to Portofino not knowing what to expect, and we left completely blown away -- and honestly, a huge part of that was our waiter, Nick. This guy is on another level. From the moment we sat down, Nick's energy, knowledge, and genuine passion for hospitality set the tone for the entire evening. He wasn't just taking our order -- he was curating an experience. Now let's talk about the Cacio e Pepe -- insanely good doesn't even begin to cover it. It was perfectly executed: silky, bold, with just the right bite of pepper. Classic done right. But you know what made it taste even better? Nick. He recommended it with such confidence and enthusiasm that we had to order it, and he absolutely delivered. Nick was attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable without being pretentious, and just an all-around fantastic human being. He made us feel like VIP guests from start to finish -- checking in at exactly the right moments, offering spot-on suggestions, and keeping the whole experience flowing effortlessly. If you go to Portofino, you absolutely should ask for Nick by name. He is the kind of server that reminds you why going out to dinner is supposed to be a special occasion. We will 100% be back, and Nick is a big reason why. Portofino, you have a gem on your staff. Treat him well!

Thx for the memories Portofino!
