I will say, not even having stepped foot (or should I say cleat), yet into this bicycle store (shop), when inquiring about a new Italian road bike, I left a message for Ty. About 4 hours later, (after I figured that I would never receive a call back, after all, it was a Holiday W/E), Mr. Ty contacted me back about my Italian bike inquiry, whom I had previously left a message with (his name escapes me (my bad), but he was very astute, professional and succinct as well), his co-worker to call me back with info on the new bicycle. Now, I have been cycling for over 53 years. I have NEVER had a person like Ty explain and discuss this new bicycle to me as ever before. Not only was he precise, factual, analytical and purposeful, but he also never talked over me, (as a bunch of bike pro's like to do), and our conversation was productive and very instrumental. In short order, he actually researched and calculated the rough guesstimate of the most probable frame size based on what info I could give him from my current bikes while we were discussing all of this on the phone. I was totally impressed. I had heard over the past 10 years or so, that they hosted a good hammerhead evening ride out there in the evenings during Daylight Savings Time. I never got the chance to go to that group ride due to the far distance from my workplace. Based on Ty's and his co-workers input, I can see now why that is a go-to shop. Rad store with the best bikes and service! They possess a great mix of both road and mountain biking products, of which I prefer the latter but perhaps will get into road biking one of these days. I also gear up with my mountain bike shoes, energy chews and Nuuns here. The guys that work here are all superb riders and have tenure in the biking world, with both road and mountain biking, so their advice and recommendations can be trusted! I got my Norco tuned up here and they did it quick at a reasonable cost. They also fitted my bike rack to my little Mercedes, of which I am eternally grateful as it has improved my life as a whole! Their electric bike is so fun and so reasonably priced- give it a try! Also they carry Giant bikes which are among the very BEST (E-bike included), as well as many other brands! These guys have always been extremely helpful. I've ventured in for service, parts, gear, and sometimes just conversation. They're always helpful and open to conversation, even when "just looking". They have a good selection and when something is not in stock they don't mind ordering it quickly. Todd's a super nice guy and I've never had a negative experience with anyone in the shop, and I've been visiting this store for over 10 years. Todd has even taken the time to follow up information he took upon himself to research and then email. Definitely visit this shop! Excellent experience and high quality detailed service, hands down the best bike shop we've ever been into. Our first time in was to check out their mountain bike selection, John answered all of our questions, was very helpful, and we felt no pressure at all. I brought my road bike in for a time up, John assessed the bike and mentioned there were a few other adjustments that were needed. The work was done so fast, my bike was ready in a few days. Todd the technician that worked on my bike had found that my current derailleur was not an ideal fit, and replaced it for a safer riding experience. They replaced the bar tape and cables, full tune up, and cleaned her up for a stellar and affordable price. I don't write many reviews, but I do so when the service is simply perfect. I moved from Atlanta to NYC and had to leave my bike with a friend because it didn't fit in my u-haul. With the help of Reality Bikes and especially, Franklin, they not only boxed up my bicycle for a very affordable price, but they also gave me information of how to ship it. It was so easy to setup the shipping, interact with them and they were so friendly with all of my questions. It wasn't that they were patient with my questions, they genuinely made me feel like they wanted me to get my bike and to take care of me. My buddy literally just walked in and dropped the bike off and everything else was done. You didn't even know me. I have no chance to be a future customer because I live in NYC. The owner and staff of this reality bikes is highly unprofessional. First, they charged very high for small work and most importantly, their behavior was very very rude. Just because bike sales are high these days, they bumped up their repair prices really high. They are not even courteous to listen to customers. I went this shop to get my daughter bicycle brakes adjustment, he convinced me saying there is lot of work required on the bicycle and it will take 3 weeks to fix it. However, he called within 2 hours that bicycle is ready. They claimed themselves to be super busy and shows that lot of work is required and charged 4 times of actual work to be done on the bicycle. Never recommend, reality bikes .. these people are far far from reality. Even if they charge high, they should not be rude with the customer. Reality Bikes is just money minded and greedy. read more

This place was amazing. I have been running for a while and wanted to switch up my training and start road biking - I want to eventually do a triathlon. Well I knew NOTHING about road bikes before walking into this place. I got a second hand used bike off a good friend and decided to get a fitting for it- I called and made an apt for the same day with Todd to fit me in my new to me bike. I walked in nervous and completely clueless. I warned him I was new to riding and had no idea on what any of the terminology was or how to sit properly on a bike. Todd took the time and had amazing patients in teaching me everything from how to sit on a bike properly - how my feet should look as I pedal and how to change a tube! I had my fitting in which he used lasers to show me where my body should be lined up properly and taught me good habits to develop as I become a more confident biker. He even suggested a new seat post - something I had no idea you could change, but it made a world of difference in my stance and position. This was not an add on - it was necessary, the one that came with the bike was way too short for me and could cause injury and bad habits, the new one was much taller and further back for better angles in my leg for biking. After he spent about an hour with me one on one showing me techniques and talking through some good entry level activities to do - he took me to the front of the shop - he took my bike back to tighten up a few loose things and handed me off to one of his employees. He was just as wonderful. I also warned him how clueless I was and he took the time to show me how to change a flat, how to fill up my tires with air properly and what all goes into a small kit that I should always have on me while I ride. We talked through some safety tips and he also gave me great suggestions on where to ride that would be safe and close to my house. Once my bike was finished and I was finished learning all that I could - I felt so much more confident in myself as a new bike rider! As a side note, they had an amazing amount of products! They carry literally everything, and I could have spent hours in there playing and shopping - but not once did I feel any sort of pressure to buy anything! Even the safety things they should me, was more to get me familiar with what items are and how they are used. It was truly a great and fun shopping/learning/exciting experience. Impressive selection of high end road bikes, mountain bikes, and accessories. Service seems helpful. High volume of bikes hanging from the ceiling waiting to be worked on or picked up would seem to be indicative of good mechanics, low storage space, or a combination of the two. One area in which I think this store could improve is training for its ride leads. It may just be that it's early in the season, but in the B2 ride last week, several people got dropped before the last regroup point, and there was no full regrouping. I felt bad and wanted to stay back with them, but am not familiar enough with the route. This week, the 6 pm groups decided to leave early. I would feel comfortable recommending the store, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way for the group rides. They're not really any different than you would find at most stores, and there are other stores where the leads do more to ensure that the rides are organized, efficient, and safe. read more

These guys know their stuff and are very easy to work with. COVID has created its challenges so they were struggling to get new shifters. I was able to find some and took them by. They completely reworked and updated our 20+ yr old mountain bikes and they are as good or better than new. I totally recommend Reality Bikes. read more

Poor service. Purchased a bike from them for my son and he broke a part. We came to them for replacement and they basically said they would not help. I persisted to try to get some help and they claimed they would follow up with me and try to find the part. Unfortunately I never heard from them again. A friend introduced me to Reality a couple of years ago and now I won't shop anywhere else. It is THE bike shop. These guys know bikes because they all race bikes. No career sales people here. There are other bike shops in the Atlanta area with a larger selection of bikes, but none have authentic knowledge like Reality. The double bonus is they leave the arrogant attitude at home. They have primarily competition style bikes for mountain, road, tri, single speeds etc, but also have some comfort and family style rides. I met Todd and his crew at Reality 6 years ago when he hooked me up with my first bike in 30 years, a 2008 Fuji Team road bike, and it has been a pleasure doing business with him ever since. At the time I didn't ride, run or swim but my new girlfriend was on the Reality Bikes Triathlon Team so naturally I had to take up the sport. Todd outfitted me with all the accessories - helmet, pedals, tools, spares, lycra kit etc. and got me a great deal on the Fuji by calling the warehouse, finding an end-of-season frame and had me on the road for $1,300. At the time I thought "that's a ridiculous price to pay for a bike" but my girlfriend assured me that it was a steal especially considering the awesome service Todd provides. One broken collar bone, six years, 23 triathlons, several centuries, thousands of miles, and several worn out pairs of lycra cycling shorts and the Fuji is still going strong. Todd even fixed a cracked carbon seat stay after I crashed. that looks as good as new. Chris and his service guys have taught me how to maintain and fix my bike on my own and set me up with a proper work stand and tools.. I've since added a Fuji 29er mountain bike to the stable and again Todd got me the deal of the century - $700 for a 29er with hydraulic disc brakes.. With his sponsorship of 5 different categories of cycling teams, charity events, parties, and partnership with local businesses, Todd has made Reality a focal point for the local cycling community. Given the suburban location north of Atlanta and being a specialty bike shop, the typical Reality customer is middle age intermediate rider doing semi-serious cycling for fitness. His product lines target this group primarily but he also carries the high end stuff for the really serious 20-30 something racers and of course a full line of kids bikes and awesome beach cruisers, clothing and accessories. You can get a decent all carbon road bike with Shimano components for around $1000 or you can get the top of the line for $15,000 and everything in between. Reality is more than just a bike shop. When you are there you feel like you are a part of the growing cycling culture and part of a community of people of all levels who just love the sport. The camaraderie and education of the Wednesday night ride has been priceless in my evolution as a cyclist. It turns a workout into a social event where I've made many new friends and learned a lot from their tall cycling tales. Todd and company are the real deal. Awesome sales staff, and the service department is also top notch. Service after the sale is what counts - anyone can sell you a bike, it's how they treat you AFTER they have your money that counts, and these guys get it right. Extremely busy shop, but all of the staff take time to greet you from whatever they are doing and check to see if you need help. It is a small shop, but is packed to the gills with lots of high-end eye candy to drool over - thankfully most of the bikes are suspended from the ceiling, so the drool just gets on you - not the merchandise. These are great guys! I stopped in yesterday, as they opened. I needed a difficult tire installed onto a wheel-chair wheel - and I needed it immediately. They stopped what they were doing - and three guys worked hard at-the-same time, with soap, and installed it with a smile and a reasonable price. I'm not a hard-core bicyclist - but I can see it's a large very-nice shop, with plenty of high-end brands in stock - and their attitude is the most important. Oh my god this place is amazing. Got a great set of mountain Trek800's for my youngest kids and got a couple single speed bikes on the way. These guys really know what is going on with customer service and bikes. They always do a great job and do little things like wipe down the frame and clear the wiring, minor adjustments. I really like the feel of the interior and the selection for over a couple years now. Really a great place if you live in the Cumming, it really is worth the money your spending. My son is really into the competition bikes, while me and my wife are on the trails whenever we get a break from the everyday hustle and bustle of life. They have a great selection for families, just ask them about the family style rides they carry. I recommend bringing the family, so you can get a unified agreement.
