I brought my 2014 Specialized Epic Comp to Roswell Bicycles and paid more than $400 for the…read moreoriginal service, performed by Tim. During the work, they found significant wear in the PF30 bottom-bracket area, called me, and recommended a conversion bottom bracket as the appropriate repair. I approved it based on that recommendation. After the service, I experienced problems with essentially every area they worked on. The bike went back multiple times for loose suspension hardware, bottom-bracket problems and additional rework. Their own service records document loose hardware, later Loctite application and further bottom-bracket attention. Eventually, a significant crack developed in the same general bottom-bracket area. I have never claimed Roswell Bicycles caused the original wear or that I can prove their repair caused the crack. My concern is that, considering the repair, the repeated problems afterward and the eventual failure in that same area, their work may have contributed to or aggravated the problem. This bike was also actively maintained and upgraded. I had recently spent $350 rebuilding the rear shock and paid Roswell Bicycles to reinstall it, along with recent new tires, cassette and chain. I tried to resolve this directly with the owner, Kyle. In my final email I told him I remained open to a reasonable resolution and that an independent third party might view their own service records differently than he did. I received no response. I am not blaming them for every problem on an older bike. I am saying I paid for professional service, had repeated problems afterward with the areas they touched, and ultimately ended up with a cracked frame in the same area as the most significant repair. People considering Roswell Bicycles can make their own judgment.
