It is with great sadness that I retract my positive review of Real Mountain Tree Service. Jose is a very nice man and he does excellent tree work. But, for some reason, he has difficulty following through on his commitments and answering questions about his insurance coverage.
The first time, when I used Jose to take down a very large tree and wrote the review below, his services were exceptional. The second time when I used Jose to trim two large trees, a question arose about his Worker's Compensation insurance that was never fully resolved. The third time when I intended to have Jose trim several large trees in Arvada. He didn't show up for the job. He called about 1/2 hour after the scheduled time and said his truck broke down but that he would have the office person call me to reschedule. When I spoke to the office person and asked what had happened, she told me there had been a family emergency. Not the same story at all.
I rescheduled the job for about 3 weeks later, to start at 8:30 AM, now knowing that it had taken me almost an hour in traffic to go from my home to the Arvada location. When I arrived, shortly after 8:00 AM, I saw two people from Rocky Mountain Tree Service - neither one being Jose - coming out of the backyard, which they were not supposed to be in without me being there. I asked them if they climbed trees because the bucket truck could not be used in the backyard. One said he could and then started pointing out the places he wouldn't be able to reach. I asked if he would have the same trouble in the front of the house, since he would be able to use the bucket truck and he told me he didn't know how to use the bucket truck. I asked him if he was covered by Worker's Compensation insurance and he asked me to wait while he called Jose. When he got off the phone, he told me he wasn't going to do the job because Jose wouldn't answer whether he had insurance. Then he and the other man drove away in the bucket truck.
After this incident, I attempted to reach Jose three times by phone and also sent two emails all in an effort to resolve this matter as I really liked him and his work. He never responded to any of these attempts to reach him.

Real Mountain Tree Service (720-271-4196) is the best tree service I have ever used and through the years, I have used many others. I very seldom write a review for a company but José and his staff are simply outstanding. His prices are very reasonable, his company is licensed and insured, and he has all of the necessary equipment and skill, to get the job done.
I am a rather compulsive person who wants the job done right from the beginning. José, who owns the company and makes the bids, is very thoughtful and efficient in his approach. I had a 60+ foot Blue Spruce tree that was nearly dead and wanted to have it removed and its stump ground up. What made this job even more difficult was the tight space in which they needed to work. They had to avoid a garage, a neighbor's house, a hedge and a fence, all of which were within 5 -15 feet of this massive trunk. José took this tree apart, limb by limb, never letting any of them touch anything but safe ground. It was amazing to watch him work!
José's workers were all very pleasant, and did a great job, feeding the branches into the chipper and then making sure everything was cleaned up when they were done.
Because of the size and scope of this project, I obtained 9 other bids, including some from Denver's major tree companies. None of these bids demonstrated the expertise or the attention to detail that José demonstrated from the first time we met. I received José's bid the same day he came out to see the tree and along with it, a copy of his license, and a copy of his insurance. No other company provided that supporting documentation with their bids.
My only concern with writing this review, is that everyone will want to have José work for them and there will be a long line for his services. But, if that is the case, José is so good the wait will be well worth it. read more
