It took more than 5 months to then get told that Jose didn't remember any of the prices he had quoted me for services in September.

Jose and his guys removed a pretty large Locust tree for me in my back yard that was right on the corner of the fencing. They were right on time and very professional, fast and did a great job of cleanup afterwards. I would highly recommend these guys! read more

Jose and his team are so gracious and professional. We originally had plans to cut down a large spruce tree on our private property earlier this year and his crew showed up on time; however, we had to delay due unforeseen situation and they were so understanding. After a big late spring snow storm , they were driving by after a neighborhood job and saw we had broken branches in our yard and offered to remove and cut down a broken limb with no charge. That was incredibly generous and helped us out so much! We rescheduled our original tree job and they showed up prompt, did a great job cutting down the large tree and were thorough with clean up. They also did an amazing job trimming several other trees on our property. Jose and his crew had dealt with a lot of drama around our decision, their client, of cutting down a large tree on our private property. They have been yelled at, threatened and discredited by our neighbors because the neighbors aren't getting what they want from us so they direct their anger to an easy target. (The tree is gone Karens, spend your energy donating to reforestation efforts instead of leaving crazy voicemails, being "non-confrontational", and going after a small business with lies that has nothing to do with you!) I'm really embarrassed about what they've been through, but they've always maintained their professionalism through it all and were more understanding of the situation than us. I highly recommend this small business, they are the best. Please do your research of his reviews to make sure they're coming from people who actually used and paid for his service vs. those who have the audacity to feel entitled to other people's private property for their own selfish enjoyment without taking on any of the risks or costs. Also, we plan on hiring Real Mountain Tree to plant several new trees in our new space and are looking forward to finally being able to enjoy our backyard without the worry of the tree and it's branches falling on our small children. read more

I just completed a large dead tree removal project in Cheesman Park (Downtown Denver) with Real Mountain Tree Service that included: removal, stump grinding, chopping, haul away, and clean up. Josè and his crew arrived on time with all necessary equipment (two large trucks, chainsaws, carts, trash cans, rakes, blowers, helmets, etc.). They were incredibly efficient (less than three hours, start-to-finish), safe, neat, cautious of personal property and fences, and respectful. Jose's daughter Brenda professionally handled the estimate, scheduling, payment and e-receipt. I've had other trees removed/ground, and they've never been completed this quickly, or this well. The price was several hundred dollars under the other 8 estimates that I collected. I will use them on all future tree services. Real Mountain Tree Service is outstanding. read more

These guys came this morning and did two big trees in front of our house. They worked with me via email for a convenient appointment, sent me a confirmation email yesterday, and showed up on time with a good crew and good equipment. After a brief walk- around with Jose to make sure they complied with a couple special requests they did a great job and a very thorough cleanup - all for a very reasonable price. Jose and his company never showed up for their scheduled service this weekend. I texted and called to ask when they were planning on coming and they never replied. I went on Nextdoor to see if there were any other recommendations for companies, and by chance, I see a woman posting a recommendation for Jose for the exact time they were suppose to be at my house. The other disturbing thing is his daughter had called me earlier in the week, apparently from my house, to say they could do the job another day, but I was not okay with that because I needed to be home because Jose and I were suppose to look at the bushes in the back so I said I needed it to be on a weekend as scheduled. When I got home, it was clear, someone had partially blown leaves, and left them all over the walkway, taken out my signage for my alarm and left. My neighbors were really puzzled when they saw what they did. I was shocked by this treatment since I had had no issues with Jose in the past but now cannot and will not trust them for business. read more

I found Jose via Nextdoor.com where he received many positive reviews from homeowners, plus I found his name through a City of Denver search of approved arborists. He & crew worked fast, but carefully, didn't drop branches on neighbors property, were priced right and cleaned up like they were never here. They may do a good job but I wouldn't know because they failed to show up. I had an estimate scheduled (at their time/date convenience) from 5:30-6:30 p.m. At 5:30 I get a text that Jose was held up at his last job and could not make it. Apparently no one could tell me this any sooner. O.K. I texted Brenda, his daughter and receptionist, back immediately and said "fine, what's available?" No response. I called, no answer. Called the next day, which was Saturday, left a message and finally she got back to me via text on Tuesday, asking if the same time frame would work for the next day. I said yes but then texted back that I did not want it to go to 6:30 because in late October it's dark! No response. I call and get the answering machine of some guy named Trevor, maybe Jose's partner and leave him a message that I need to see Jose as close to 5:30 as possible so it's not dark. So no one once again shows however, this time Brenda does not text me. Apparently my life and time has no significant meaning to her so why inform me that I am going to be totally ignored. I actually do not hold Jose responsible, as I am giving him the benefit of the doubt that he doesn't know that his daughter and receptionist is not doing her job. Let's hope so. That is, that maybe he cares more about his customers than it appears she does. I gave them and Brenda, every opportunity to work with me and they treated me like garbage they left out the night before. Jose appears to be good based on reviews at his profession however, maybe he should hire someone with people skills to work the phone. If he wasn't so busy you can bet they'd want my business (Limb Walker's will do the trim for $1,500) but because he apparently is busy, why treat a customer with any decency. I can tell you that Limb Walker's have treated me extremely well and super responsive. read more

Real Mountain Tree Service just completed a trim and thin on the huge maple in our front yard. They were several hundred dollars cheaper than the other estimates we received. Jose and his crew did an excellent job. They cleaned up every leaf and were very pleasant to work with. read more

I highly recommend Real Mountain Tree Service if you need work done on your trees! I heard about them on the Nextdoor app. Several of my neighbors had recommended them. They were reasonably priced, some of the estimates I received from other companies were $100's more. We had these guys remove an extremely large Ponderosa Pine tree in a difficult area of our backyard over a fence, shed and near some cable/power lines. They showed up on the scheduled day which was fairly soon after the original day they provided a free estimate. They provided a very reasonable estimate among several other quotes we received. When they arrived, they were fully equipped with a wood chipper, truck, stump grinder, full crew and ready to go. Their climbing, rigging and cutting skills demonstrated their expert experience and knowledge. Very professional and impressive. The job took about a day and half and was well within their estimate. I also had them grind the stump down. When they were done, they made sure to clean up everything and did an excellent job. The owner, José, was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. And his whole crew was very nice and friendly. note: They do not have a large web presence at this time, so I'm trying to get them some exposure on Yelp. Even though you may not find them online easily or their website isn't built yet, they are a solid company. Some companies just have tech and marketing challenges, but this shouldn't limit their quality services. I was referred to them by a friend who used them and even posted a time-lapse video of them removing his large 45 ft. + tree between his house and another. Just watching that video, you can tell these guys know what they are doing. read more

It is with great sadness that I retract my positive review of Real Mountain Tree Service. Jose is a very nice man and he does excellent tree work. But, for some reason, he has difficulty following through on his commitments and answering questions about his insurance coverage. The first time, when I used Jose to take down a very large tree and wrote the review below, his services were exceptional. The second time when I used Jose to trim two large trees, a question arose about his Worker's Compensation insurance that was never fully resolved. The third time when I intended to have Jose trim several large trees in Arvada. He didn't show up for the job. He called about 1/2 hour after the scheduled time and said his truck broke down but that he would have the office person call me to reschedule. When I spoke to the office person and asked what had happened, she told me there had been a family emergency. Not the same story at all. I rescheduled the job for about 3 weeks later, to start at 8:30 AM, now knowing that it had taken me almost an hour in traffic to go from my home to the Arvada location. When I arrived, shortly after 8:00 AM, I saw two people from Rocky Mountain Tree Service - neither one being Jose - coming out of the backyard, which they were not supposed to be in without me being there. I asked them if they climbed trees because the bucket truck could not be used in the backyard. One said he could and then started pointing out the places he wouldn't be able to reach. I asked if he would have the same trouble in the front of the house, since he would be able to use the bucket truck and he told me he didn't know how to use the bucket truck. I asked him if he was covered by Worker's Compensation insurance and he asked me to wait while he called Jose. When he got off the phone, he told me he wasn't going to do the job because Jose wouldn't answer whether he had insurance. Then he and the other man drove away in the bucket truck. After this incident, I attempted to reach Jose three times by phone and also sent two emails all in an effort to resolve this matter as I really liked him and his work. He never responded to any of these attempts to reach him. 9/4/2018 Real Mountain Tree Service (720-271-4196) is the best tree service I have ever used and through the years, I have used many others. I very seldom write a review for a company but José and his staff are simply outstanding. His prices are very reasonable, his company is licensed and insured, and he has all of the necessary equipment and skill, to get the job done. I am a rather compulsive person who wants the job done right from the beginning. José, who owns the company and makes the bids, is very thoughtful and efficient in his approach. I had a 60+ foot Blue Spruce tree that was nearly dead and wanted to have it removed and its stump ground up. What made this job even more difficult was the tight space in which they needed to work. They had to avoid a garage, a neighbor's house, a hedge and a fence, all of which were within 5 -15 feet of this massive trunk. José took this tree apart, limb by limb, never letting any of them touch anything but safe ground. It was amazing to watch him work! José's workers were all very pleasant, and did a great job, feeding the branches into the chipper and then making sure everything was cleaned up when they were done. Because of the size and scope of this project, I obtained 9 other bids, including some from Denver's major tree companies. None of these bids demonstrated the expertise or the attention to detail that José demonstrated from the first time we met. I received José's bid the same day he came out to see the tree and along with it, a copy of his license, and a copy of his insurance. No other company provided that supporting documentation with their bids. My only concern with writing this review, is that everyone will want to have José work for them and there will be a long line for his services. But, if that is the case, José is so good the wait will be well worth it. read more
