They came out that weekend to give me a free quote, and I felt very comfortable with them. While I was a bit hesitant to do such a big job with a company with few reviews, I selected them based on my like for both Jose and Vera, their very fair quote, and their clear expertise when it comes to landscaping. So, what did I have done? I had the entire front and back yard xeriscaped (see before and after pics I uploaded). They really had their work cut out for them! The yard was a mess with dandelions and a plethora of other weeds, and had really been ripped up thanks to cutting down a few sumacs over the years (and, to be honest, my general disdain for lawn maintenance). No problem for Jazmine's - in just a day and a half they got everything dug out, laid weed cover (the good stuff), planted three trees, and put down all the rock. They were very patient with me in choosing the trees and the rock, and took an immense amount of pride in their work. Jose even came back the next day and added a little mulch around the new trees - I guess what they'd put down the day before wasn't quite up to his standards (even though it certainly met mine!). The whole crew were a delight to have around! Everyone was friendly and professional, working quickly and cleaning up after themselves. I'm guessing some of you have also been hesitant to book Jazmine's for big projects since they're new to Yelp, but I can vouch for them and their work 100%

So, a few weeks later, I reached out again - no reply. Same thing a few weeks later. It's a shame - seems like they do good work and we would have liked to work with them. Edit: The business replied with totally inaccurate information. I put out a call for weeding. The next day, I got a "quote" of $65/hour so I said it sounded great and would be happy to have them come look at the scope and start work. No reply. About 18 days later, I asked if they were still interested in doing the job. No reply. So if this is how they tell you they've decided not to work with you, it's not an awesome communication method. Hopefully others have better luck connecting with them to get work completed.

They left the old shower in my garage with 5 GIANT boxes full of trash and never came back to get it so I had to call a haul away service. The shower pan wasn't installed correctly and weeks later it started to leak so I had to re seal as they did not use the correct sealant. The install of the gutters was sub par and actually got one of them to come back and fix once but I still have issues with the gutters and will be replacing them again. I do not recommend. The response time was terrible and they seemed to come up with excuses days later for why they weren't showing up. I gave up and found a new handy man. Moral of the story, you pay for what you get so do not go cheap.

Teo was able to recycle a lot of material in our back yard to help bring the price around $5k cheaper than the next best offer. Now when the price is that good, some might expect poor work or follow through. That wasn't the case. The job took a bit longer than expected but Teo was great at communicating if he was going to be back in 1-2 days so he could fulfill smaller projects which I was fine with, especially for the price he saved us. After he laid the sod we did have a couple areas die and Teo came back twice to patch the areas of concern and even patched areas we were not concerned about and changed sprinkler heads to make it more efficient for us. Again, when the price is that good some people might expect to pay the contractor and never see them again but that's not the case. Having a company that follows through and comes back to make things "perfect" is all you can ask for, and him working with us to recycle a lot of material and save us $ made it all worth it. The concrete he added in the front also turned out great. Definitely call to get work done by them if you are on a budget and don't want to worry about half asked jobs. Also if you are wondering why one area is left as dirt, we asked him to leave it like that so we can DIY a garden

I hired Grade A Excavation to remedy several issues that were causing water seepage in my basement…read more. Hugh, Mike and team corrected the slope of my side yard, adding compacted soil and new gravel to correct the drainage. They filled in a low spot caused by tree growth in the back yard. Most complicated was a paver patio that had subsided in crazy ways. The back stoop had tilted away from the house and was funneling water into a void right against the foundation. The other companies I contacted fell into four categories: bid a complicated solution at double the price; submitted a two-sentence bid with zero detail; took one look and turned down the work; or ghosted me entirely. What sold me on Grade A was how well they explained what I needed and listened to my concerns. Instead of a buried French drain, they recommended surface solutions (grading, correctly aimed downspouts, splash blocks and gutter guards) so in the coming years, we can verify they're still carrying water away from the house as designed. Grade A bid a fair price, showed up on schedule, communicated every day about progress and field changes, and went out of their way to create a solution that solves the problem -- and find the right materials that let us reuse the existing pavers. I knew in advance the price was subject to change depending on what they found under the stoop. What they found was actually a nightmare but the price adjustment was lower than I expected. Bottom line: drainage problems fixed, yard and patio look great. The crew was friendly, courteous and hard-working. Highly recommend.

In addition to the work a few things that stood out: - Hugh was incredibly easy to work with and honest. If there were changes that needed to happen we'd discuss it and he'd give an updated quote. The update was never absurd and made it so we focused on the job not haggling or worrying. - Grade A was one of the few companies I worked with where the owner seemed connected to all the employees. Hugh introduced them all, seemed to look out for them and acted like a team. They were all really cool in return. All in all for the job well done, ease of working with and great business practices I think working with Grade A is an easy decision and I've already recommended them to some neighbors.
