I needed to get an ash stump ground down. I looked at a few different companies/people to do the job. Never having this done before, I had some specific questions to be answered. I could tell by Corey's reply to my questions, he was the one I was going to hire to do the job. I'm very glad I did, and very happy with the results. The stump that I wanted to get ground down was in the rocks in my backyard. He just told me that to make it easier to go ahead and pull the rocks away from the stump, so the job ago much easier. I was worried about how the cleanup was going to go after the job because I'm very particular with how my yard looks. A1 stump removal was the only one that I had contacted the seemed to care about how the job was going to look after it was done. He put screens up all the way around the stump and I had an old tarp that I placed under his machine and between the screens and the tarp that contained all of the mulch/dirt. The stump I had ground down was a little less than a foot and diameter. Between him unloading the machine, setting up, grinding the stump down, putting the machine away, me filling the hole in and dumping the rest of the mulch/dirt into a trash bag, putting weed fabric down and putting the rocks back on took less than 1-1/2 hours for the entire job. The job that A1 stump removal did turned out so nice it looks like a tree was never there to begin with. I did fill in the hole with the mulch/dirt a little higher than the surrounding ground because as a decomposes it will fill itself in. Corey with A1 stump removal was very professional, polite, and knowledgeable. He took great care with his machine going into my yard, grinding the stump & removing the machine to ensure that everything was the way it was when he got to my house. A1 stump removal's price was actually the same price I was going to pay from several of the competitors. His competitors I spoke with we're not going to put up a screen to contain the debris, and some of them we're not even gonna grind the stump very far below. Corey ground the stump very deeply to ensure I will never have a problem with it growing back. The saying that you pay for what you get is normally true, but not here. like I said his competitors were the same price as him, and even higher. Needed a stump cleared so I could plant a new tree. Called around to a few companies, but then found A-1 and the phone was answered by Terry, the owner. (No "call center" or dispatcher nonsense.). He had me txt my info, and said his son, Corey, would be in touch. Corey came out later that same day, and tackled my 20" diameter stump in about 45 minutes. He also helped cut the tree down to grinding size, using his chainsaw which was much more efficient than mine. When he was done, I had no more stump or big roots, and a perfect hole that was almost two feet deep; perfect for my new tree plant. Seeing how easily he backed the grinder into position, and how much power it had compared to the one I had considered renting, I was so incredibly thankful I hadn't tried it myself. That clearly would have been a disaster compared to getting it done by a pro. Wonderful, prompt service at an incredible price: $200 and it was done.
